The following rule has been reworded and expanded for clarity...

  • Choosing Lot Traits for Townie homes is fine, but no structural changes to lots are allowed. This also means no placing homes on empty lots.

  • I'm not home alone.  My sims are all here.

Hi everyone! Started playtesting this last night and have some questions:
1. This is regarding the trying for baby & 2nd baby. Using the Pancakes household as an example. So, they are already married, so they try for baby. Boom, Eliza is pregnant. While pregnant, they decide to adopt. Instant baby incoming via adoption. So, now, do Bob and Eliza need to be good friends with the adopted baby before I can move to the next house, OR once the adopted baby comes home, can I just tell them good luck and move on?
You have to be good friends with any babies in the house before Trying for Baby or Adopting for a second time - it has nothing to to do with moving.  You can move anytime but you can't go back to a household where you've already been.

2. Multi-family members and moving young adults, adults or elders out. Using the BFF household (Travis, Summer and Liberty) as an example. So things are heating up between Travis and Liberty, and Summer feels it's time to be on her own. She has her eye on a comedian named Johnny Zest who lives in Oasis Springs. So, when playing this household, if I move Summer out, does she have to be placed in her own house OR can I place Summer directly in with Johnny Zest via manage households?
The rules say that when you move someone out you must immediately move them into any home.  So that could be in a previously empty home or in Johnny Zest's home.

3. Are we permitted to use freerealestate to move sims out into their own house OR do we have to transfer funds from the main family?
No cheats allowed, so no freerealestate.

4. Some of the pre-mades, such as Dirk Dreamer are homeless. If they randomly move into an empty house on their own, are they then eligible? Just asking, because in the Pancake challenge, Izzy Fabulous randomly moved into one of the empty houses in Willow Creek.
The rules in both challenges say to UNcheck "Fill Empty Houses".  If that's unchecked, no sims should be randomly moving in.  Please recheck that setting.  Only the sims that start in homes (houses or apartments) are eligible.

5. If, for some reason, we run out of empty houses to move young adults, adult or elders out, can we evict the current tenants, OR even plop down Maxis built furnished houses in Newcrest or on empty lots?
The rules say that when you move someone out you have to immediately move them into a home - evicting them would break that rule.  No adding houses, no moving to empty lots.  Metro updated the rules so that should be more clear now.

So are we able to place maxis made lots that aren't houses? We can in other challenges, I just want to make sure about that for this one as well :)

The missing community lot allowance in the General Rules is still okay.

I wanted to draw attention to this rule that was clarified today --

  • Only Young Adult, Adult, and Elder people-sims (not pets) can be moved out.

*Sigh* Well, I was hoping to enter the mid-season major this year but then it had to be this one ... I'm sorry Challenge Team but I think I'll be skipping this one too, the last Baby Boomer nearly had me in tears and I don't need this kind of stress in my life right now and you guys know how I feel about child rearing challenges. I know it's different this time around but it still confuses me and it just doesn't seem like something I'd want to do and the whole house jumping aspect isn't helping, I'm not fond of that either.

@GlazeyLady I hope you're not offended, I know this is your challenge and I think that putting a new twist on an old favourite is always an interesting idea, you always come up up with the most intriguing challenges and while most tournament players love Baby Boomer, I find that it's not for me.

@ratchie You are one of the strongest players I know and everyone here has their own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to playing the Sims 4, myself included, it's just something we need to accept. Remember that you are coming back to the game after a long hiatus and to a very competitive environment at that and I think you are doing just fine, I mean I wouldn't have lasted five minutes with the Pancakes, so don't be so hard on yourself and just enjoy the game. :)

Good luck to all of you playing, I know many of you look forward to this one and no I don't plan on making skipping challenges a regular thing, I'm just trying to hide from all the baby/child/teen challenges popping up all over the place lol. I'll still pop in now and again and watch this challenge, maybe learn a thing or two and I'll be sending all of you well wishes, you're gonna need it, lol! :)

@Rainbow Dash Someone needs to come last in these challenges, and that's a service I love to provide. :D Also, I'm a pantser when it comes to Sims 4 challenges mostly. I mean when it comes to something like scientists which I've always stayed away from I practised a bit, but this one, I'm just gonna dive in and see how quickly I lose it. I do actually have a question, which I'll put below

QUESTION - should a mother or father die, do you leave that family at that point and go on? Does it count as game over? And if it was the father who dies and mother was pregnant, does the baby that results count? Just asking in case because I have full confidence in my abilities to have at least one fire and death during this baby boomer

Lol - Dek - you crack me up ;) .. but, the good news is it would not be game over if one of your Sims decides to become Johnny Human Torch. You can just jump to a new townie home. There basically are no requirements to do so. The requirements are for staying in a townie home for a 2nd pregnancy/adoption.

@Deklitch if I was playing in a house where one parent died I would make sure to get the quota of babies before moving out because every pregnant widow needs another child to support.
@Rainbow Dash thank you for being you.

Question do I need to stick around until every single baby is born I know I cannot return to any played households but is there a rule about how long I have to play a household.

You can stay as long as you want to, leave when you want to.

I hope you dont think of adopting with only 1 parent in the household right?
Because this rule states differently:

Potential parents must be at Lovebird or higher romance relationship and must live in the same household** before Trying for Baby or adopting.
