Regarding Jesminder and Arun Bheeda again:

Yep. The "Boom" of Baby Boomer starts right when you start your file, so treat Jesminder like you had control over it. Jesminder and hubby need to become Good Friends with the newborn, etc.

Also, can Eliza get pregnant initially and then adopt a baby while waiting to give birth?

Yes

I am seeing conflicting direction...
If a couple is expecting with pregnancy #1, can they adopt while waiting to give birth?

My understanding, is that the couple must be good friends with any baby in the house at the time they begin the process of the next baby making activity (pregnancy or adoption).  So they can adopt while pregnant but if they wait for the baby to be born, then they must become good friends with that baby before adopting.  So adoption during pregnancy would be fine, as long as the friendship requirement was met with existing babies in the household.  Then the marriage requirement comes into play for the 2nd pregnancy or 2nd adoption.

Part of me just thinks...play the townies as they are. But, part of me also thinks, "It makes no difference." So, go for it.

Actually, gender customization makes a HUGE difference if we're allowed to alter all the parameters. Question is, are we really allowed to alter ALL? Maybe you just meant the appearance once, but not the ones that affect fertility?

Well, what's everyone think? Throw out your opinion given this has not gone live yet. This is about townies and my opinion is just play them as is. There's plenty of strategy for the player without going to the extreme of changing genders. But, let's hear from others.

I vote to play them as is. I'm enjoying working out my strategy with everyone as they are.

Sheldon Cooper once said something along the lines of 'I prefer to watch the Star Wars movies in the order that they were released - that way I can be disappointed in the order that George Lucas intended.' I feel the same way as that here, let's play the townies as the developers intended and not change genders.

I am okay to play either way. Probably easier to play with the townies as they are because going and customising gender is just another thing I will forget to do.

Ah fair enough re. No gender customisation which seems most people's preference. It's just a shame Brent and Brant can only have two adopted kids rather than fill their household.

The option for gender customisation would make it a bit more creative strategy-wise but then this is a classic challenge and it's different enough using townies this time round.

I vote for no gender changes - not because I have anything against it, but because I feel that gender changes will make the play way too simple and repetitive. Leaving the sims as they are will allow much more diversification in gameplay actually.
