Grandma, Stop working out!
« on: April 17, 2020, 08:38:24 PM »
Does anyone know of a way, cheat codes, mods, whatever, that will keep elders from trying to work out?
My sim joined the Charm household.  Just now, the kids had to Dedeathify Minerva for the second time.  She keeps trying to use the weight machine in Darrel's room, or shovel snow in winter.  Naturally this gives her Dangerously Tired.  Normally she'll take it easy after that and be fine, but if anything happens to give an Angry or Embarrassed moodlet, suddenly that's 41 stacks and she's toast.

@Brian_Z

I would lock Grandma out of Darrel's room. Shoveling snow would be impossible to prevent without looking her indoors.
Does she have the Active trait or something?
I've rarely seen my sims shoveling snow, but then I've only ever played winter before on that Hound's End lot (forgot the name) in Brindleton Bay.

Meditation is a favorite form of elder herding. Maybe keep her dazed on kava?

Nope, she doesn't have Active, but once in a while some random thing will get her energized.  It doesn't help that someone got a karaoke machine for Winterfest, so she'll randomly sing on it.  She's a terrible singer, so she keeps getting "Nailed It!" which is an energized moodlet.
I can't get my sims to STOP shoveling snow.  Those random lumps in the yard aren't bothering anyone, but all my sims are obsessed with clearing them whenever I live somewhere that it snows.

I guess I will have to lock the door to Darrel's room- which actually now belongs to Gemma.  Not sure how closely you've looked at the Charm family, but Emilia Clarke is Darrel's fiancé.  I got them married and moved out, 2 fewer sims to manage.

Does yoga cause Dangerously Tired?  If so, there's a mat that will have to be moved to that bedroom too.

Oh!  And do locked doors block Transportalate?  Because Minerva is a spellcaster, of course.

Alright, gave yoga a try, and it seems Granny is safe with that.  She CAN Transportalate through a locked door, so I had to set her to never transportalate.

I gravitate toward Meditation rather than yoga, since Meditation doesn't cause a sim's hygiene to decay much.
Good to know that Yoga doesn't cause the Dangerously Tired moodlet, but she'll need to shower.
What a handful your Granny is. Glad to hear you got locked down now, lol.

So eventually, Gemma and my sim Rebecca aged up and went to college together, in spite of being aunt and niece there's only an 8 day age difference.  Once they finished, they got one of the huge penthouse apartments in San Myshuno.  Minerva shows up a lot, and she has gotten Very Uncomfortable while visiting, so I think she uses the weight machine or treadmill there!  There's plenty of other things to do in this house, so usually she finds something safer though.  She should reach the end of her lifespan normally soon anyway.
