The Behr Necessities BACC, The Intro and Meet the Fam

The Intro--Baby's Got BACC
At a house that has been frequently visited...

by the Jeongs and by a certain young lady named Morgan, we have a different visitor approaching.
Michelle:  (knock knock) Hello?  Mr. Pippin?  You asked me to come over?
(rustles of movement from inside)
Pippin:  Oh, umm, come in.  I'm just watching The Urbs.

Michelle:  Umm, okay, three observations...first, this is the news, not The Urbs...
Pippin:  Oh, umm...I...
Michelle:  secondly, there's a book levitating against your wall...
Pippin:  Well, Tavi's magic and she came by...
Michelle:  and three, there's light coming from under your bathroom door when you're supposedly alone.
Morgan (from in the bathroom):  I'm afraid of the dark!

Michelle:  Of course you are, dear, and that's nothing to be ashamed of.
Morgan (still from within the bathroom):  I like her.  Tell her about the thing!
Michelle:  The thing?

Pippin:  The thing!  I call it, "Baby's Got BACC!"
Michelle:  No.  Whatever it is, we're not calling it that.
And after some further conversation, Michelle heads home to the Behr Cave and calls a family meeting.

Michelle:  Alright, everyone to the kitchen.  Family meeting time.
Yuki:  Not going in unless someone gets me some mac and cheese!
Michelle:  That can be arranged.  Oh, and someone will be cleaning this mess up afterwards.
Clara:  Oh, that was...probably Aunt Yuki.

Caitlyn:  A meeting?  But I was watching the TV!
Shanna:  Umm, the TV's not on.
Caitlyn:  I never said I was watching a show on it, silly!
Shanna:  Umm...fair point, I guess.

Michelle:  Alright, people, Pippin has tasked us with doing the Build a City Challenge.
Clara:  I'm really good with Legos!
Michelle:  That is precious, sweetheart, but this is a different type of building.  Here's your mac and cheese, Auntie.
Yuki:  Yes!  (fist pump)
Michelle:  Anyway, he did a random dice roll to determine how many of us would be involved and it turns out he needs six of us, so...

Yuki:  So the five girls and Aunt Yuki, amirite?  I mean, no one wants old ugly pants here, right?  No offense, Bowen.
Bowen:  Ummm…
Michelle:  No, Auntie, Pippin actually wants the six of us kids...after I convinced him to include Bowen instead of you since he's actually one of the kids.
Yuki:  Dang it!
Bowen:  Oh...ummm...thanks, sis.  I'll...try my best...
Michelle:  Of course, Bow!  I'm sure you'll be great!  Those of you who are teens will be aged up to young adult, and little Clara has to skip the teen years altogether.  Sorry, sweetie.

Clara:  I get to be a growed up!!
Yuki:  I'm so happy for you, Clare Bear!!  You're the only one I actually like!
Shanna:  Harsh, Aunt Yucky.

Michelle:  You ready to do this, kiddo?
Clara:  You betcha!
Caitlyn:  Normally Norma Lee normally.
Norma:  I hate my name.
And with the age-ups done, the Behrs leave their cave.

Michelle:  Alright, crew, let's do this thing!
Clara:  I'm so tall!!!
Caitlyn:  Nor.  Ma.  LEE!!  NormaLeeNormaLeeNormaLee!!
Norma:  UGH!!!!  I hate everything!!
Bowen:  (muttering) Probably should have sent Aunt Yuki, I'll never be good enough, I'm not even a Behr cub...
Shanna:  Can I punch Aunt Yucky before we leave?

Michelle:  Yeah, this is gonna be a lot more work than I'd first realized.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Meet the Fam

Pippin:  Before we get into the challenge itself, let's get to know the Behrs a little better and the roles they'll be filling, at least initially.
First off is the eldest child, Bowen.

Pippin:  Bowen is a good, hotheaded, career-minded cat lover.
Bowen:  Yeah, I won't be any help, I'm sorry.
Pippin:  Michelle has entrusted him with what one might argue is the most important job of all, unlocking electricity by mastering handiness.
Bowen:  (gulp) We're doomed.  I'm sorry.
Michelle:  You'll be fine, buddy.  Breathe into the bag like I taught you.
Pippin:  Oooooookay.  Our next oldest is Norma.

Norma:  And my middle name is not Lee!
Pippin:  Norma Notlee is a lazy, paranoid, alluring dog lover.  Paranoid?
Norma:  What do you mean by that?
Pippin:  Aaaand she'll be cooking the meals and mastering cooking.
Norma:  Stop talking about me!
Pippin:  Moving on to the beautiful leader of the crew, Michelle.

Pippin:  Michelle is a mean, business-savvy art lover who is a quick learner and hates children.  Wait, mean and hates children?
Michelle:  I have so many coping mechanisms!
Pippin:  ...apparently so.  She is clearly the leader and will complete the Archeology Scholar aspiration to open Glimmerbrook.  And she's mean and hates children?  Anyway, next up is our least mentally stable member, Caitlyn.

Pippin:  Caitlyn is an erratic, gloomy muser who is randomly missing a trait.
Caitlyn:  I'm special!!
Pippin:  Yeah, she's a dysfunctional Joker channeling her inner Eeyore.
Caitlyn:  So many much to the me!
Pippin:  Umm, sure, okay.  She'll master photography to open traveling and will do painting...to keep her busy and away from things that start fires or sharp objects.
Caitlyn:  Oooo, sharp fire!
Pippin:  Next up is Shanna.

Pippin:  Shanna is an erratic, dastardly art lover with a weak bloodline...but not a spellcaster herself.
Shanna:  Totally gonna nail this public enemy aspiration!
Pippin:  Yeah, there's that.
Shanna:  Somebody's gonna die!
Pippin:  She'll be mastering the guitar and violin to help open stuff for us.  And maybe adding to our community by completing that public enemy aspiration...and killing someone.
Shanna:  Addition by subtraction!
Pippin:  (facepalm) And finally, the far-too-early-aged-up Clara.

Clara:  I'm the baby!
Pippin:  Yes, little baby Clara is a good, romantic, child of the ocean who is a quick learner and has a weak bloodline without being a spellcaster.  She'll be our gardener.
Clara:  I get to play in the dirt!
Pippin:  Yes.  That's why.  And with these glorious Behrs in place...well, Michelle's gonna have her work cut out for her.

Michelle:  (sigh) All of the coping mechanisms.  All of them.

Yay, you've started! Love your Stats post!
You will be very busy unlocking new settlers for your Behr kids' spouses, because a moved-in townie won't contribute to community development (except as a babymaker) unless you spend a Charisma point on them.
Good luck and enjoy! :)

Yeah, I rather enjoy taking a different approach to things  ;=)
Glad to be part of the craziness and I appreciate your encouragement to join in on the fun!

Eh, my Behrs are fine with having spouses who just fill procreational and housekeeping duties  :=)
I am definitely enjoying this crazy group and this challenge thus far!  Really glad you and reggikko encouraged me to join the madness  ;=)

A lively bunch! Good luck!
Thanks!  Glad you're enjying it!  And as you'd observed form the Jeong updates, Michelle needed a chance to get more of the spotlight!

The Behr Necessities BACC, Back to BACC Parties
« Reply #7 on: March 26, 2020, 03:15:42 PM »
On a beach on an island in Sulani, six Behrs set off on a quest to create a whole new world.
Caitlyn:  A hole!  New whirled!!
Michelle:  Well, not what he meant, but we can work with that.  Alright, everyone, let's get started on our jobs.  Step one, we need to unlock townies since we're all siblings, so we can't populate this world without moving in spouses.
Norma:  Ewww, that is just creepy to think about.  I mean, the only guys here are Bowen and Shanna.
Shanna:  Not a guy.

Michelle:  I'll set up the party with me as host and you guys as guests.
Clara:  Ooooo, can I go play in the water?
Michelle:  Later, sweetie.
Bowen:  Umm, if we're...the only guests...and stuff...who's that?

Edwin:  They're coming to take over!!  Everyone run for your lives!!
Shanna:  I can silence him!
Michelle:  No!  Let him live.
Shanna:  Boy, if she wasn't holding me back!
Caitlyn:  Thank goodness we have a big, strong man to protect us!
Shanna:  Not a man!
Norma:  Kava's ready!

Michelle:  Alright, everyone, a toast!
Clara:  I'd love some toast!
Michelle:  Not that type of toast, sweetie.  A toast to us, and to this amazing new enterprise where we will shape and mold the world into a glorious, new place, getting by with the bare necessities...
Caitlyn:  Behr necessities?
Michelle:  (facepalm) Fine, Behr necessities.
Norma:  Do we drink now?
Caitlyn:  Unless you kava better idea!
And immediately after that kava party hits gold, they throw another kava party.

Norma:  Why are all these people here?  They're talking about me.  I just know they are.
Michelle:  Alright, no one speak to the townies.  They're not unlocked yet.
Clara:  I don't think you can lock people?
Caitlyn:  You can if you try hard enough!
Shanna:  Umm, Norma?  Is there supposed to be that much fire in the grill?
Norma:  AAAAHHHH!!!  RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!

Random Townie:  I've got this!
Michelle:  I would thank her, but townies are not unlocked yet.
Random Townie:  You're quite welcome, strange but beautiful young lady.
And after that kava party went gold, they threw another kava party.

Clara:  I'd like to make some toast.
Shanna:  Make a toast.
Michelle: Eh, close enough.  Drink up.
And after they finished the third kava party with a gold medal, they threw yet another kava party.

Michelle:  We love-a the kava!!
Norma:  I'm so sick of it.
Caitlyn:  (singing) Kava kava kava kava kava kameleon!
And after that party went gold, they threw their fifth and final kava party.

Michelle:  Yes, last one, and are we sure we haven't unlocked services? I mean, just one little freebie with a maid coming over?
Pippin:  No, sorry, rules are rules.  And should you really be calling me without electricity?
Michelle:  I charged the battery before we came.  And I mean, I guess I'll just have Caitlyn clean it.  Caitlyn?

Caitlyn:  (snore) but not the llama on the right (snore)
Michelle:  Yeah, ok, gold on five parties in our first day, townies unlocked.  I'm calling it a day.  We'll clean up tomorrow.
And so, as the sun rises on our second day in Sulani..
Michelle:  Caitlyn!  Dish time!

Caitlyn:  I will dishtroy them all!!
Michelle:  Atta girl!  And now I get to...

Michelle:  sit around and read.  And read.  I mean, I do have a great view of Clara's garden, though.  Great work playing in the dirt, kiddo!

Michelle:  How's the guitar skill coming along, Shanna?

Shanna:  I figured out that if I press down on the strings it changes the sound!
Michelle:  Good work!  You'll be playing things that vaguely resemble songs in no time!
Shanna:  ...you sure I can't kill someone yet?
Michelle:  Later, sweetie.  Whatcha makin' over there, Bow?

Bowen:  I'm...making...a mess of things...pretty much.
Michelle:  Stick with it, big guy.  You can do this!
Caitlyn:  Couldn't we have had our other brother do woodworking?
Shanna:  I'm not a guy!
Michelle:  Stick with it, Bow.  Anyway, I've had enough book time.  Let's have some llama time, ladies!

Michelle:  Ooo, tough luck.  Good try though, Clara!
Pippin:  Clara is particularly bad at Don't Wake the Llama.
Shanna:  Umm, there are people in the water.

Michelle:  So there are!
Shanna:  May I...kill them?
Michelle:  Not yet, sweetie.  Let's try some social skills.
Shanna:  Dang it.

Shanna:  Hi.  I'm Shanna.  My sister says I'm not allowed to kill you.
Teulia:  Ummm, ok...is that woodworking guy your brother?  He's cute!
Shanna:  Ah, you must have taken your contacts out to swim.
Teulia:  ...can we stop talking now?

Clara:  Hi!  Heh heh.  You're a boy.
Aleki:  Well, a little old to be called a "boy," but yes.
Clara:  A boy who's male!
Aleki:  I'm Aleki.
Clara:  Yeah you are!
Aleki:  And  your name is...?
Clara: Yes, it is!  And I'm a growed up girl now!

Aleki:  I see that.  And I'm very confused by your mannerisms, but you are charmingly silly, young lady.
Clara:  Oh.  Clara.  It's my name!

Rua:  Well, hello, pretty lady.  I'm Rua.
Norma:  You're have hair be nice.
Rua:  I...what now?
Norma:  Your face is good.  Norma be me!
Rua:  I'm sorry, is Simlish not your native language?
Norma:  Funny be you're making the talky words!

Clara:  Hi.  You're a girl, so not as interesting, but my loser brothers might need someone, so my sister, Michelle, she's the really pretty one, thought I should talk to you or whatever, but I'd really like to talk to the boy.
Lanuola:  The boy?  You mean that old guy over there you were talking to?
Clara:  Yes!  Why?  Did he mention me?

Bowen:  Hmm, maybe...knife block...doesn't mean I carve it...with a knife?

Michelle:  So, how'd the socializing go?
Clara:  There was a boy and he was male and he told me his name!
Michelle:  That's great, sweetie.  He needs to win my approval before he can even think of asking you out or touching you or even speaking to you in a sweet voice.
Clara:  That seems perfectly reasonable!

Shanna:  I'm gonna go practice further away from everyone's ears!
Michelle:  And we all love, encourage, and thank you!

Norma:  Just gonna cook another plate of Rua…I mean...fruit.  A serving of fruit.  Psh, Rua.  I didn't say Rua.  You must have said that.
Michelle:   Literally wasn't even talking.
Norma:  See?  Must have been Rua YOU.  I meant you.  You said Rua.
Michelle:  Umm, ok.  Sure.  I'm gonna read now.
And with townies unlocked and some of them catching the eyes of our young Behrs, the crew set their collective sights on lots of long, tedious days of skilling.  Endless, mind-numbing skilling.
Caitlyn:  HaHA!  Tricked ya, my mind's already numb!
Michelle:  Alright, tell the nice readers "goodbye," sweetie.
Caitlyn:  Goodbye, sweetie!
Michelle:  (facepalm)

Have you chose n Sulani as your starting place? It's such a lovely place to play!

Since Clara has started a garden, does this mean you have opted for the "one of my Behrs will eventually live on this lot" approach rather than "our Watcher foots the bill for our communal camp" approach?
Looks like slim pickings on the spouse market so far, but it's still early days.
Child of the Islands trait?

Sulani is rather lovely.  It really lent itself well to great screenshots!
And yes, my approach to the starting lot is that one of the Behrs will stay there, so it's communal in the early going, but then whichever Behr stays there just sells off some tents and such and builds their own tiny home  :=)
And thank you again for Tiny Living!!!!

We find ourselves on a quiet island beach in beautiful Sulani where a pack of Behrs have been hard at work to get a good start to their Build-a-City Challenge!

Bowen:  Umm...there's some random...stranger walking out of...our bathroom?
Norma:  Ohmygosh!!  He's spying on me!  I just know he is!!

Random Stranger:  No need to fear, everyone!  It's just me, Pippin!
Bowen:  Pippin?
Random Stranger Pippin:  Yes!  You know, your Watcher?  The person in charge of this whole thing?
Norma:  Pretty sure that's Michelle...
Michelle:  Thanks, sis.

Michelle:  So, what went wrong, Pippin?
Pippin:  Wrong?  What?  As if I can't just pay my favorite Behr tribe...clan...crew...a visit without it being bad news!
Michelle:  So it's not bad news?
Pippin:  It is, I just didn't want you assuming it was!
Michelle:  Gee, thanks.
Pippin:  You are welcome!
Michelle: (facepalm)

Pippin:  Anyway, I had you guys complete 5 kava parties to unlock townies, but...uh...funny thing, the rules state you can only repeat one party, the other three need to be unique, so, again funny thing, you've kind of totally broken the rules by interacting with townies already.  Isn't that hilarious?
Norma:  What a load of garbage.
Pippin:  Oh, and another thing...
Michelle:  You messed up more?

Pippin:  The BACC thing that Watchers oshizu ad reggikko were doing, which I was joining, was actually supposed to start in Oasis Springs, so you were totally in the wrong place!
Clara:  We were in the right place to swim and show off how awesome we look in our swimwear!!  Well, except for Bowen.
Bowen:  (sigh)

Pippin:  So yeah, let's keep that positive outlook going and consider this a really solid practice run and restart in Oasis Springs!
Michelle:  Ugh, you are the worst, Pippin.
Pippin:  The worst at being horrible, I'm sure you mean.  Anyway, pack up the beach and let's go!
Caitlyn:  Suitcase full of sand!!!
Michelle:  Alright, crew, let's go.

Pippin:  Oooo, is this franks and beans?  I mean, I'd hate to see it go to waste...
Shanna:  Wait, why am I running?  Where are we going?  I was napping, did I miss something?

And so, our glorious sleuth of Behrs...
Michelle:  Sleuth?
Yep, I looked it up.  A group of bears is a sleuth.
Michelle:  Interesting.  Anyway, please continue narrating.
Thank you.  Our glorious sleuth of Behrs packs up their beachside glory to head to the desert expanse of Oasis Springs.
Caitlyn:  Did he say dessert?!?
Michelle:  No, sweetie, desert.  Like hot sandy place.
Clara:  So I can still build sand sculptures?!?!?
Michelle:  Yes, dear, but maybe after we build some skills.
Clara:  Oh, poo!
And so, the next update will see our lovely little crew restart their adventure.  Thank you for Behring with us.

The Behr Necessities BACC, And We're BACC!!
« Reply #13 on: April 01, 2020, 08:41:56 AM »
We find ourselves on an empty lot on Oasis Springs where we reboot The Behr Necessities BACC.

Clara:  Hey, where'd the beach go?
Caitlyn:  Is that a dinosaur?!?!?
Michelle:  Focus, people.  Bowen, you have that awesome reputation...
Bowen:  I do...?
Caitlyn:  But dinosaur!
Michelle:  so you'll schedule a party and we'll get moving with this BACC reboot.

Bowen:  Umm...so I...want to have...a party?
Clara:  Nothing says party like playing in the dirt!

Michelle:  Atta girl, Clara.
Norma:  Guess I'll go make some Kava since that actually is related to the party.  As opposed to gardening.
Clara:  Playing in the dirt!!

Michelle:  Alright, Caitlyn, let's knock out those socials.
Caitlyn:  Like punch them until they're unconscious?
Michelle:  Different type of knock out, but I appreciate your enthusiasm.
Erwin Pries:  AAAAHH!!  They've come to take over!!!
Norm:  Kava's ready, come get it!
Erwin:  ...well, I am thirsty.

Norma:  I'd like to make a toast, but not to those people who are talking about me behind my back, you know who you are!!!
Erwin:  I'm scared.  I'm very scared.
Norma:  K, I'm gonna cook a meal.  Oww.  OOWWW!!!  Cooking myself!!!  COOKING MYSELF!!!

Shanna:  It's okay!  Crisis averted!  I'll save the oven!
Michelle:  Umm, I'll save our sister.  That kind of matters too.
Shanna:  Oh, right.

Clara:  We're eating!
Shana:  We're arting.
Michelle:  No idea why a boom box, which can run on batteries, doesn't work off the grid, but a digital drawing tablet, which needs to be plugged in to charge, does.

Bowen:  So, Caitlyn, I...wanted to become good friends so I can...boost my reputation even more before I...schedule the next party.
Caitlyn:  ...what?!?!  Sorry, there's this weird diamond thing above my head.
Bowen:  That's...your plumbob...?
Caitlyn:  Bob the plum?!?!?  Hello, Bob!  Hellooooo, Bob!
Bob:  ...
And as we were getting ready for a spooky party, the household was drawing attention.

Michelle:  Umm, alright, no one interact with the three creepers sitting across the street watching us.
Clara:  But there are boys!!
Michelle:  Maybe later, sweetie.
Clara:  (pouts) Aww poo!
Caitlyn:  Can we interact with the potty lady?
Michelle:  Potty lady?

Michelle:  Hmm, not sure if she needs to use the bathroom or if she thinks she's visiting our house.  Either way, yes, ignore her too.  Costumes, people.  We've got a party to do!

Caitlyn:  I'm a llama!!  llamallamallama!!!
Bowen:  Who decided...to give Caitlyn...a knife?
Caitlyn:  I'm gonna carve your face on it!
Bowen:  I...am scared.

Michelle:  Alright, knocked out those requirements, so we can work on skilling while they finish the pumpkins.
Shana:  Umm, why are Norma and I dressed as maids?
Clara:  And why did Michelle get the only cute outfit?
Michelle:  There are perks to being the leader.

Caitlyn:  Bowen!!  It's your face!!  See?  Pale and awkward!!
Bowen:  It...does look like me...you're right.
Caitlyn:  Woot!!

Caitlyn:  And it was pale and droopy looking and Bowen agreed it looked just like him!
Michelle:  Great work, sis.  I'll get Bowen signed up for therapy just as soon as we unlock services.
And as we reach the end of the first day...

Caitlyn:  The garbage llama comes to bring you gifts while you're sleeping!!
the Behrs are making phenomenal progress and Shanna has already reached level 6 of painting and Michelle is almost at 6 as well, Norma is at level 4 of charisma with Clara just barely behind her, Bowen is at level 4 of handiness, and we've had two gold medal parties.  And with that, we bid goodnight to the Behrs.

Watcher's note:  Extra special thanks to oshizu for gifting me Tiny Living (because she's awesome) which massively boosted the skilling rate and she also advised me to try the digital sketchbooks which massively increase the painting skilling and production.
