Couple of questions.
Can I buy skilling objects and add them to community lots?
Do teens have to get a part time job immediately?

I have been playing an extreme rags to riches for fun so selling from inventory and being able to go to the gym to shower feels quite luxurious.

Before you move into a house, you can only buy items that can go into personal inventory.  So, you can buy skilling items that you could put in personal inventory, but not items that can't go into personal inventory.

No - you can do that whenever you want.

@GlazeyLady this is nothing to do with you, or any one else on the challenge team, or the challenges themselves! They can be done, as shown by people who complete them, I'm just unable to work out how to get them started, and sometimes I don't fully understand the hints provided after the challenges complete, or the answers given by others.

I've been told by professionals (psychologists and the like) that I have a brain that's wired differently to 95% of people. I also tend to be totally honest with my opinions on things, even on occasions when perhaps I should have kept them to myself (my multitude of jobs pays testament to that). Like @thefaeriesgirl I don't MEAN to be insulting or hurtful in anything I say, even if it comes out that way. My apologies for doing so.

It is a difficult tightrope for the entire team, with the different needs of the people who play, and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thank you for your efforts.

Don't worry, I am going to continue to post things that happen and which make me laugh at myself. That reminds me of something else I need to check out.

@GlazeyLady Don't feel bad! I don't mind AT ALL that I didn't finish. I am a very casual player, and would never expect to do well. I just dive in with no practise and see what happens. I may have only managed two days, but found it pretty hilarious that all my teens were as miserable as could be no matter what I did. I really enjoyed the challenge and love that you guys have such original ideas that I would never think of. The Sims, for me, gets boring pretty quickly unless there's new ways to play it, and that's what you provide. :)

@Deklitch @thefaeriesgirl
Please know that I did not take any of your comments personally at all, and I am very happy that you do speak honestly.  I'm also very thankful for the people in the world whose brains work differently than the brains of most others - we need the unique perspectives and great ideas that you can provide.

I do want to make sure that we are creating a play place with our challenges that can be fun for everyone.  I've been chatting with Metro about it and we are starting work on a Tips and Tricks section that will provide ideas and links to help with challenges, and an opportunity for players to share information and ask questions.

And @Deklitch I have to say I am really intrigued by the number of fires your sims have!  And I say that after just experiencing a bizarre fire myself in this challenge.  I can just imagine my teens dancing along singing, "If I only had a brain . . . "

A tips sheet would be awesome! Half the time I look at peoples results and I think how, how did you get such a high mark? I'm certainly not competitive enough, I just enjoy doing challenges. I had a go at the teen challenge and it was really hard, but I think the hardest thing was trying to get enough money to buy a house.  I probably could have completed it if the teens could build on their lot as they went along.  I still learned some interesting little things I hadn't previous known attempting this challenge though and that's a bonus.

This was the most difficult challenge for me, after three practice runs I gave up and submitted my "best"

I feel you @furbyqueen !
I started a practice file and thought I'd do a quick practice week. But after 3 days, I thought, "Oh, no! I am not going through that again!" :)

I practiced the first day about 5-6 times and when I had that down, I started for real.  By Wednesday, I just wanted them all to die in a fire. :)  But, there was only one fire and one of the teens was Johnny-on-the-Spot with the extinguisher.   ::)

Well with my practice file, I forgot to do the reset funds to 0 requirement and was thinking ooh, this is easy, until I realised ummm, those things require money, oh, I didn't set funds to 0. I suppose I could have realised that with my scoring file instead, which would have been a real problem. LOL

Hahahaha. I'm playing my practice file until the teens can buy a house, then I'll start a scoring file and try to do it in a shorter time. They are doing poorly. :(
Restarting the first day is a really smart idea, @Teresa
One really nice benefit of my practice file, though, is that a super-cute sim turned up who I'm moving into my Build-A-city Challenge. So there's that!

@Deklitch
I'm very glad that the money cheat thing happened in your practice file, and not your official file.

Can you link the rules to your Build-A-City Challenge?  I want to check it out.  I need another long-dynasty-type-challenge to start but not finish.  ;D

I'm sure most simmers will agree that the planning stage of a multi-gen challenge might be the most fun! I sent you a message with the link.

Finished with all 3 teens reaching hero status for a score of 300 x 2.95 = 885

Just to clarify. I am not allowed to add things like an easel or piano to community lots that don't already have them but I can use ones that already exist in world.
