I can't speak for the team, but I would think they would need to attend at least one shift for the job to count.

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is well and trying to manage during these strange times. I have a quick question about the house the 3 teens move into. Does it have to be a furnished Maxis house that is already in one of the towns OR can we download a furnished player-built home from the gallery and use that? Thanks for your help.

It needs to be an existing house already in one of the towns; no placing of residential lots.

Question - the only time they can enter into buy mode is when they are on their home lot.
Does this mean buy mode is off limits until they move into a house (so no skilling items can be bought), or when the game pops them back to the home lot after school/work, can they enter buy mode before leaving (strictly for items that would go into their personal inventory like sketchpads, easels, etc)
Or, are they limited to skills items that are already located in the world somewhere?

*The rules already mention household inventory, so I am just clarifying for items that would go into personal inventory instead.
**I just realized they can enter build mode anytime.
The question then becomes, while they cannot access household inventory until they own a home, can they enter build mode to purchase items that will go into their personal inventory such as sketchpads and easels, etc.

Yes, but they can only purchase items that go in personal inventory.

@GlazeyLady - Thanks for the quick response. Finishing up my trial today and thanks to Lena for doing the spreadsheet because it's hard to keep track of these 3 teens. :)

Yes, but they can only purchase items that go in personal inventory.

Does this mean that, before they buy a real house, they can go back to their owned empty lot and enter Build Mode to buy these things? Or is there a way for this to work out in the world on Community Lots that I don't know about?

Also, with regard to BFFs - the multiplier and Hero Status is only for other Teens that they become BFFs with, right? Because you can't be BFFs with any other age groups while you are a Teen, right? Or do plain old Best Friends from other age groups count, too?

They can enter build/buy mode on a community lot.

You can "Become Best Friends Forever" with any age group.  Anyone outside the household of your three sims counts.

What do you do to cheat your funds down to zero? Sorry, never done that before, and read the rule set and the FAQ and don't think I saw the answer in either post.

First, you enable cheats.  (Carl's Sims 4 Guide explains how to do this for PC and Consoles on this page under the "Testing Cheats" section. With cheats enabled, you type "Money 0" (no quotes) in the white bar. Then you turn cheats back off.

Could we go to a residential lot if we only want the stuff in the area and don’t actually go in/on any of the actual houses?
