By 'source of food', you mean like a fridge?

Yes, or mini-fridge, or cooler. But if you place a furnished house on the empty lot, everything will be available.

Thanks Marian.

'Food source' made me wonder if I needed to include a plant and/or a stove as well. I am very pleased it didn't. :)

I re-read the challenge rules, which answered the other question I had, which was "what do I do with the sim I create". I see the answer was "move into an unoccupied house in Willow Springs".

Edited with a question

Traits for the children must be randomised. Is there a button in create a sim to randomise traits like in Sims 3 or is there some other way of randomising the traits?

Sorry, I just go in and create sims and select traits. Don't mind me, really :)

There's a button for randomizing traits now.

*Household Management will also have to be used to move a Pancakes offspring into an unoccupied house. These are the only acceptable uses of Household Management.

There isn't any need to click on Manage Households to move out a sim anymore, is there?
Can't a sim just use their phone and select the "Split Household and Move" option?

One more clarification concerning existing unoccupied houses. Do we move into the house “as is” (furnished) or is it acceptable to move into them unfurnished and then add the required items? I get that for the houses we place on empty lots that it’s okay to only furnish them with the required bed, food source, and bathroom.

Thanks, oshizu, I'd forgotten they added that option. I'll check and see if they can actually move into a house without going to Household Management.

@reggiko, "as is" it is. For the standing houses, you shouldn't need to go to build mode at all.

A song for your enjoyment ... for this imagine, Arlo Bunch is an adult and in Sims 4, and a little Pancake child, let's call her Stacksa, is also an adult ...

This is a story, of a Pancake Lady, who was cooking up three very lovely pancakes,
Batter of gold, just like their mother, the smallest one in whirls,
This is a story, of a man named Arlo, who was busy with a bunch of his own,
They were four sims, living all together, but they were all alone.

Til the one day when this Pancake met this Bunch
And they knew that it was much more than a hunch,
That this group must form a sim family,
And that's they way they became the Pancake Bunch, the Pancake Bunch, that's the way they became the Pancake Bunch (too bad - they all looked like dad!)

And if you can't get this song out of your head, you are very welcome

Actually, I just tried this. You don't need Household Management to move a Sim out, but you will need to use it to move your Pancake in.

@Deklitch, cute song!

@Deklitch - you made my day! Oh, that song is hilarious. Dare I say this in a public forum, but when yours truly was a little boy I had the biggest crush on Marsha Brady. :)

Another 2 rules:

No adding to household except through pregnancy.
Money may not be added into the Pancakes household when a Pancake offspring moves in with someone.

Metro, if you had a crush on Marcia Brady, dare I ask if you had a dog in the fight for Team Ginger versus Team Maryanne? Or skin in the game for Team Maggie versus Team Angelique?

I actually had to Google Maggie vs Angelique because I did not get the reference...never watched Dark Shadows. I have certainly heard of it though...but, team Maryanne all the way. Lol.
