Hysterical Hoarder
« on: December 13, 2009, 02:56:57 PM »
My Sim, Audrey, just got the "Hysterical Hoarder" title! LOL It said that now any of the treasures she finds will be worth up to 50% more. I have no idea how many treasures you have to find to get that title, but since I haven't seen anyone else mention it, I thought I'd share with you guys...something more to strive for! That's the thing that I love about World Adventures so far....there is always MORE to discover in the game. This is the first Sims game, (and I've been playing since the original Sims) that I haven't lost interest in a few days because it gets monotonous. Way to go EA! I think it's going to take me a long time to discover all there is in this game because so far, every time I play, I find something I didn't know.

So you played Sims 1? I can't imagine anyone in 1991 playing that for a few days and getting bored just because nothing like it had ever been done before.

That's true and I did think it was pretty cool back when I first got it and of course I got all the expansion packs.....still have them in fact. When Sims 2 came out, I thought it was really cool but I got bored with it and ventured into making things....clothes and modding and all. I seemed to enjoy that aspect of it a lot more. If you're a member of TSR, you may have seen some of my stuff....I'm RockinRobin over there too.

As for Sims 3, I've modded a couple of things so far, but haven't gotten into it quite as much just because I'm still playing the game. I'm sure once I get to the point where I feel like I've discovered all there is to the game, I'll get more into the modding again.

Well, to get back on topic... It's actually Historical Hoarder, sorry, hysterical would be funnier. :D
You get it for collecting 20 relics from each of the 3 cultures. It's in the adventure journal under common relics. ;)

 :D  I think I prefer hysterical, lol.

Yeah and my Renee just got it going through Dong Huo's treasure, which is not easy.  :P

No, that was one of the harder ones I've done so far. So...many...traps! It beats the landgraab estate though in my opinion.

Sure wish there was a way to organize your inventory!

I look at my Simmie's inventory and want to scream! Everything is jumbled around and nothing is together or organized. I tried to find the camera to take a quick pic and had to scroll thru about 93 gems, 57 fragments, 86 ores etc...... ;)

Oh ya, me too. :P

What I did which made it a little easier is to buy the chests from all 3 locations and after getting home, separate all stuff Egyptian, French and Chinese.  I also have many grapes, fruits, veggies and fish in inventory also.  ::)

I have them all in Renee's basement which makes it easier after she comes home from vacation.  She also has chests in her vacation homes.  Much easier on the ole knapsack.  ;D

I agree-  but after reading carl's photo guide I learned that as long as you have a camera in your inventory you can just click Ctrl + C and it will take a photo from your Sims point of view and not a screenshot.   It is so much easier than digging through the inventory.

I bought a bunch of chests too and put all my gems in one, all my relics in one, and all my rocks in one. (you could even buy more chests and sort them further) Then I dragged them into my family inventory so that I could have them available to me all the time. That has really helped too, because in some of the adventures, they will ask you for something that you know you already have. If you left your chests at home, then you can't access those items. If you carry them with you in your family inventory, you can just whip them out whenever necessary and drag the items you need back into inventory and put the chest back into your family inventory. That's my system anyway and it works for me. :)

RockinRobin -

How are you able to access your family inventory while you're traveling?  The Buy/Build modes are grayed out unless you're at home.

Actually, the build/buy mode is grayed out while the sim is out on an adventure....but if you click on the map view and then use the magnifying glass to click over in your yard...it won't take your sim home...but YOU, the sims operator, will be at their house and you can click on the build/buy mode....pull the chest out and set it on the floor....get what you need....put the chest back...then click back on map view and go back to where your sim is. I usually pause the game before I do this. Works like a charm.
