Congrats Rainbow. It's fitting that the most vocal vamp fan turned the most.

My top tip is to read the rules carefully so you don't suddenly run out of time.

My top tip is if you are like me and have Google Sheets alphabeticise your typing of people's names that you make sure it manages to put them in the correc torder, and not have two that are the wrong way around

Thanks @Vesper and @Metropolis Man, Yeah I'm a huge fan of anything supernatural and yes that includes the tv show!  :D It's just gone midnight here but seeing as I'm not tired I guess I can do a quick strategy post.

The first couple of days of this challenge were spent setting up my strategy, Morrigan maxed Vampire Lore during the day which was an important part of my strategy btw, I'll get to that later and the first Vampire powers she took were Bat Form and Cast Hallucination. Those first two nights she took vacations in Granite Falls and Selvadorada and traveled to every community lot she could to spawn Sims and Cast Hallucination on them to gain Vampire XP quickly. I also bought her the Incredibly Friendly reward and introduced her to every NPC the game spawned so she could invite them over later.

She then took Occult Student and Child Of The Moon and maxed them out because both of them reduce the energy needed to use Vamperic powers and COTM makes needs decay slower meaning she could turn more Sims and waste less time tending to her needs.

Throughout the entire challenge I used the Wishing Well to wish for romance, I spawned half a dozen Sims this way and Morrigan was able to turn about four of them. She also hired services, Butlers, Maids Gardeners and  Pizza Delivery people mostly, fired them if they were too far down the alphabet or after they were turned and rehired more. Morrigan joined and quit every career with the Connections reward, she never made an offering to the Wishing Well as I was only looking for Overwhelmingly Positive or Overwhelmingly Negative results, she only went to work for the active careers to meet the Sims and then left.

As for the Vampire Lore skill, I made Morrigan max it so she could make Sunlight Reversal Cocktails to gain energy throughout the day and Dark Meditation topped it up at night, she used the umbrella for sun protection until she could make the drinks. Drinks were made using either the plants from her garden or seeds paid for by selling the career rewards or gained through the Vampire Council. She never once ran out of energy in the entire challenge.

Another reason I wanted to max the Vampire Lore skill was to cure Vampires so Morrigan could turn them again lol, she had a lot of fun beating up the other Vamps, it was great to watch! ;D

Other things I can think of is that Morrigan traveled around quite a bit, the 8 Bells Bar n Strangerville  was her favourite haunt as it constantly churns out Military Personnel and Scientists and they are always randomly generated so I got a lot of Sims that way. I played in Autumn to encourage cloudy weather. To turn Sims she mostly invited them out or over to her house, started a Club Gathering or paid them a visit.

I can post a list of her traits, rewards, vampire Powers and weaknesses etc if people want, traits weren't really important and she had all the vampire powers in the end anyway, except for Sunlight Resistance as that negates the Sunlight Reversal Cocktail. But I think that's everything I can think of for now.

Morrigan and I really approached this challenge like a bat out of hell and we both thought it was fangtastic and I can't wait to see what the necks one is! ;D

Edit: Ack, it's almost 1:am here ... this is why I prefer not to stay up late posting strategies ... stupid insomnia, lol. :o

Congratulations Rainbow Dash, on a well-deserved win.

My vampire was evil, cheerful and loved the outdoors, just to generally keep her happy.
I made an alphabetized list of all existing townies, and updated with all new Sims Rosanna met (and marvelled at the game's choice of names).
I took the first two days to just go to all different public places and meet as many new Sims as I could. Britechester and Strangerville were quite good about generating Sims.
She also spend a day in the active careers.
Like Rainbow Dash, I played in autumn for the cloudy weather. I made a custom holiday with Father Winter, just so I could meet him and later turn him too.

On the first Tueday, I started going down the list, while still keeping an eye out for new Sims.
Mostly, I could just pick them to travel together. Or, if they were living in a world, I would just visit their lot. There were a few Sims that refused to come along this way.
Clubs were useful for this. Sims will show up to a club meeting even if they are supposed to be at work.
Rosanna reached level 2 in a few skills, just so I could get my hands on e.g. Sims with fitness skill.

I didn't practice, so it was tricky to decide the balance between making the game generate Sims, and to get going and bite.
I think I got it pretty well, but I could have spent more time encouraging the game to generate more.
There were some obvious things I learned during this challenge, such as turning in the sun does not always work, even with sunlight resistance.
And I'm still not sure how to cure a Sim from vampirism... I can make the potion sure, but how do you get it to your target? (I'm sure it's really obvious.)

I did use service SIm, but I could have used those more. (Rosanna did order some delicious pizza delivery boy.)
And it never occured to me to use the Wishing Well.

I was pretty unlucky with service sims. The nanny was also the entertainer (yes singular) but three pizza people were generated. But Britechester and Strangerville were goldmines as others have noted. Restaurants also generated about five or six Sims each which surprised me.

Some of my favourite generated names: Charity Funk, Alma Ponce, Wren Beach, Landen Larson, Gary Shook
There were four Sims called Tetsu, two barmen, a librarian, and a student.

Earliest alphabetically was paparazzi Aadhya Gupta, bit her as soon as we met as was sure there'd be nobody before her. Latest was scientist Zuri Thacker, didn't get anywhere near Z though.

This challenge has certainly made me want to play with vampires more.

I turned some random service sims that turned up in the world(like bartenders), but it never even occurred to me to use random services so the game would generate more. I did make use of Strangerville about halfway through the challenge because I realized that my list of sims was way too short. The only real "strategy" I had was to use reward points to buy the Incredibly Friendly trait so that I could quickly meet sims and offer to turn them and have it be successful. I only used the "turn into vampire" from the vampire social section on famous sims since even if "attempt introduction" worked, the game doesn't consider that a friendly introduction. I'm honestly not sure if that was a smart choice or not time-wise, but I did notice that sometimes the "turn into vampire" failed the first time, whereas "offer to turn" never did other than a couple times when I was glitching because I hadn't rebooted in a while.

The first sim I turned was Abbey Rossi and the last sim I turned was Victor Feng(I ran out of time before I got to Z).

Congratulations to Rainbow Dash once again! Your enthusiasm for the supernatural is so evident in your write-up, so it's no wonder you're so proficient with vampires...

The very first strategy I came up with was the one I eventually used for the bulk of the turning - using Fan Meet And Greet events to bring sims to Radu. It seems like, when your sim becomes a two-star celebrity for the first time, every sim they've been properly introduced themselves to becomes a fan of theirs. So many sims were involved that I can't say this with complete certainty, and it differed slightly in practice to the proper run; in practice, some of the criminals at the police station became fans, but in the real run they didn't, and neither did George Cahill for some utterly unknowable reason. Most importantly, Selvadoradans and folks from Granite Falls can and will become fans, making them actually accessible! Admittedly, I didn't end up going to Granite Falls 'cause it didn't seem super efficient in practice, whereas Selvadorada spat out 22 sims in under half a day. But yeah, Radu spent six-and-a-bit days running round meeting as many sims as possible with a streaming drone in tow (well, I say "a" - I did lose the first one at some point...), then had another couple where he hosted meet-and-greets at night and kept meeting sims during the day before finally switching to constant events when I figured I had a large enough pool. Oh, and "Offer To Turn" absolutely counts as socialisation for the main goal, so for the first few events when I still needed the money I was racking up gold medal after gold medal - as time passed, though, I gave that up and just force-turned everyone in attendance...

I've already confessed to being a spreadsheet fiend in the previous challenge, so it should come as no surprise that I leaned heavily on one here - like Nandarelle, I started with a list of all the potential townies, and in practice I assembled a separate list of all the roles I could think of that the game would be forced to fill, with timings where applicable. For instance, each venue with a bar will have three mixologists, working in shifts from 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am; if I could arrange for Radu's visit to a venue to overlap with one of those change-over times, then I could snag two sims instead of one! Yep, I micromanaged that thoroughly... but it gets worse. I checked that Radu was allowed to move lots for a reason, after all. He started in San Myshuno (19 Culpepper House), forcing the game to spawn a landlord but also giving him a slightly better chance of meeting any buskers/human statues/fashion victims/raccoons, before moving to Strangerville (Slip 42) in order to get the (un)Welcome Wagon to spawn an extra neighbour and two "secret agents"... who immediately lose their special role once they've left the lot, but hey. Finally, he planted roots at Pebble Burrow in Oasis Springs - it's a cheap lot in a compact neighbourhood that's good for walk-bys, partygoers spawn nice and close to it, and it gets gardeners and fisherfolk (though I saw none of the latter, actually).

I don't have Realm Of Magic or Discover University, so I knew I was down a couple of townies - I hadn't actually thought about how many sims would spawn in Britechester just to fill roles, but I'm well aware of how it happens in Strangerville. That was part of the reason I wanted to have Radu live there for a while, in fact, and I milked it for all I could. Beyond that, Radu spent a day as a detective and a day as an actor (no other active careers seemed worthwhile to me), hit up all the stores on Magnolia Promenade and the Brindleton Pawspital (their staff all spawn/come to work 24-7, though new "pet owner" sims don't start showing until 6am so I only got one), snagged every librarian and gym trainer (they both have two shifts!), a whole raft of mixologists and bar regulars (the game says bar regulars work 4pm-8pm, but that's untrue - they seem to dip in and out between 4pm and a touch past midnight), and fewer service sims than I would have liked (the game kept throwing the same ones back at me, though I did manage two mail carriers, two pizza delivery specialists and two butlers, the latter as a result of having turned the first butler and the game her deciding that excused her from her duties).

My question about non-critical EA lots was based on wanting spas, bowling alleys and restaurants, but I only visited one of each in the real run as I all found them to be problematic. Spas are proper townie sponges, but (a) in practice they started taking premades out of their careers rather than generating new sims, and who here honestly wants a foot massage from Geoffrey Landgraab? & (b) sims assigned spa jobs don't seem to be taken out of the pool of unemployed townies until you've had the chance to "Ask About Career" and thus lock their employment in place - this is not ideal in an environment where sims are very easily distracted! Restaurants had sort of the opposite problem, in that their staff were too focused on their jobs to pay Radu any proper heed, and bowling alleys... well, the Oasis Springs Dust Bowl and I did not get on, so I didn't fancy trying my luck with Bowl More...

Uh, what else? I did use clubs like Nandarelle on occasion. I had an A-Club for folks Radu met whose names were at the beginning of the alphabet, a B-Club for the butler, boyfriend and blood plasma supply, and a C-Club with a variable filter that was mostly used to drag celebrities to him - I did consider using the skill filter (especially when I just couldn't track down Miko Ojo...) but there was never really the time to do any more than the most necessary skilling. Oh, that's a point - along with being Outgoing (so much time spent talking to (mostly new) people!) and an Insider (constant club gatherings!), Radu was also a Dance Machine, because you can absolutely Disco Nap in a coffin. I did a little experimentation with the new "bed" upgrades and found it made no statistically significant difference to the energy regeneration rate of the top-tier coffin... which makes sense, given that it's the best already, so no Handiness for Radu. No painting either, 'cause it turned out the streaming drone was entirely sufficient for Radu's fame needs... bar the uploading of a couple of selfies right at the end, I'll admit, but like had I not lost the drone I would have definitely been on schedule!

(oh yeah, the boyfriend - it was an utterly perfunctory relationship. In the first week, Radu hit up The Shrieking Llama partly for the Good Timers gathering but mainly for Aliens Night - though they can't be turned, aliens can be drunk from! The ones generated specifically for the bar night show up sans disguise, but those already generated (there's always at least one) are slightly harder to spot... unless you make them glow. And hey, Very Flirty's a pretty quick Very emotion to achieve, and I couldn't say no to the aspiration points and moodlets. So, when I got suspicious of Hank Langford's multicolour dreads...)

Last, but by no means least, the evening of Monday, Week 2. I called in a meet-and-greet that saw Radu turn the sims from Clement Frost (I started in Winter for a reason!) to Dina Caliente. In the middle of that range lies Dennis Kim, who was dutifully turned between Darling Walsh and restaurant hostess Desiree Guerra. I wrapped up the event at about 2am, just as Radu started turning Dina, having unlocked all the doors of Radu's castle house a few minutes beforehand to ensure that everyone else could exit swiftly. Technically, this is what happened - after all, "exit swiftly" is just what Dennis Kim did:

I should have mentioned - Radu developed a tendency to just not change out of outfits. After his spa break, he kept that robe on for almost three days. I, ahem, used this to great effect when I remembered to start scheduling my own holidays so that people wouldn't stop trying to go to work/school (an idea shamelessly stolen from Vesper's strategy in the last challenge) and was thus able to have him turn folks whilst wearing various ridiculous costumes. As if I really needed to make things even more absurd than they already were... anyway, that's what prompted me to ask that question. Jacques Villareal ened up dying shortly after being turned too, but at least he had the decency to snuff it after he'd left the neighbourhood...

I'm just here adding a few extras while I can still remember them lol.

I too made a list of all the pre-made townies in alphabetical order and also one for any NPCS that I could possible spawn such as service Sims and like Sruixan I hit up bars, libraries, gyms, any community lot I could think of to spawn trainers, bar tenders etc. I also wrote down the name of every Sim the game generated and had Morrigan introduce herself to them. In fact my strategy was very similar to hers and Nandarelle's in many ways.

I have all the packs but I avoided travelling to the Magic Realm or bars on Alien Nights as I didn't want Sims that Morrigan couldn't turn clogging up my game. Morrigan never slept or napped, she was powered by the sun during the day thanks to Sunlight Resistance Cocktails and used Dark Meditation at night, having maxed out Child Of The Moon and maxed Occult Student meant she used very little energy turning Sims anyway. I never let my Sims sleep in challenges, it's a waste of time. :P

I also made a couple of custom holidays to get Father Winter and the Flower Bunny to show up, Morrigan also turned the Hermit and a Park Ranger as well. I didn't have much luck with most of service Sims except Butlers, Morrigan turned six Butlers but only couple of each of the other Service Sims, except for maids which never bothered to show up. Most of the Sim she turned came from Selvadorada, Strangerville, Butlers, Wishing Well or pre-made townies. Celebrities were a pain in the neck, always turning up when I didn't need them forcing me to hunt them down when it was their turn, luckily festivals are a celebrity magnet.

If you are lucky enough to spawn a romantic interest for your Sim via the Wishing Well (I got six but could only turn four) you have to break up with them to be able to wish for romance again. Morrigan is mean so she enjoys breaking up with lovers and slaying Vampires. (She cured and then turned four Vampires). :P

Morrigan never bothered to Ask Permission To Drink nor did she Offer To Turn, she just went straight in for the kill, so to speak, she's like me, not exactly subtle lol.

I just thought I'd add a little more after seeing that a couple of other players had strategies similar to mine. :)

she was powered by the sun during the day thanks to Sunlight Resistance Cocktails

...so, despite what my score might suggest, I'm not actually that familiar with the vampire mechanics... but I didn't think the Sunlight Reversal Cocktail was an actual reversal? Does it actualy provide a net gain of vampire energy when you spent its moodlet's duration out in the sun? If so, then man did I miss out...

To be fair, Radu only napped four times during the challenge, and only two of those naps lasted the full time; he bought Occult Master early on day two and had Master Of Darkness by day four, so for the most part it was just careful energy management in the vein of what you've already described. If I hadn't started turning relatively late I could probably have got away with fewer, but I wanted as large a list of potential turnees as possible to give me plenty of padding.

Radu met Father Winter and the Flower Bunny too, but the latter refused to return for turning. Celebrities were made significantly easier by him being one himself, thus allowing me to use fame as a club entry requirement to a club that held one-on-one gatherings whenever needed - this also meant I got two of the three celebrities the game generated as a result of visiting Orchid A Go Go, with the missing one sadly having a name that started with A. From reading your strategy, it sounds like I could have tried a heck of a lot harder with service sims (six butlers! six!) and as for the wishing well... well, it never crossed my mind! Since I got that stuff pack together with a bunch of others I don't think I've ever really used the well - maybe it's something I need to investigate in order to up my game!

That's exactly what it does, basically as long as the moodlet is active your Vampire will regain energy in the sun after drinking the cocktail. It doesn't work if your Vampire has Sun Resistance but I'm pretty sure that has to be maxed for it not to work I just avoided taking that power altogether and let Morrigan use an umbrella until she could mix the drink. (It requires level 11 of the Vampire Lore skill, it's the main reason why I made Morrigan gain that skill). It also won't work on cloudy days but given the weather in every world is different that wasn't a problem, I often made Morrigan wait outside a bar or a celebrity hotspot to soak up the sun and recharge her batteries while waiting for Sims to show up.

Butlers were the only service sims I had a decent amount of luck with, I only managed to turn a few of the other types, including a Repair Person (Forgot to mention them) and the Maids kept refusing to turn up so I gave up on them. >:(

The Wishing Well is OP for sure but it's a very much 'Use at your own peril' object, Carl has a written a guide on it, I've used it loads in challenges along with many of the players here but I would suggest experimenting with it first. :)

Ps: Just don't forget to keep an eye on the moodlet timer or your Vamp will be a crispy critter if you forget about it but that's what umbrellas and Bat Form are good for. (Quick getaways regarding the latter). ;)

this shows again how playing ability is as important as strategy. I didn't think to cure and re-turn pre-existing vampires but otherwise had a similar strategy. Perhaps because much of my vampire knowledge/ strategy came from the 2018 challenge Sink Your Teeth into the New Year won by, of course, Rainbow Dash. I'm just not as good at actually playing the game as the top scorers, but the tournament is a great learning experience as well as super fun.

I disabled realm of magic because I suspected most of the added NPCs would be spellcasters and ineligable for turning, was this correct? I haven't actually played with it yet.

@Vesper yes, you are correct re the spellcasters. which I discovered multiple times (I kept on forgetting that they couldn't be turned)

Two questions
1) Do the reward traits/objects you get from the reward store work for vampire things - I know that the moodlet potion doesn't work for thirst, but does something like the 'never hungry' ones work?

2) How do you get people out of your club when you no longer need them?

No, the need traits for sleep and hunger don’t work on vampires.
