The Herrington Dynasty

The Watcher gazes upon their domain; looking all over to find the right Sim, the right town... the right candidate for Immortality. Countless others had tried; precious few succeeded, most failed at the final hurdles. This Watcher had seen themselves many attempts; many trials. None finished. Too many deaths.

Then, she arrived. Lauren Herrington. Finally a matriarch to a successful Dynasty*.

Her first task was to secure a partner. She headed off to the giant mansion across the road to woo a certain Mr Lesson.

Lauren: "Gee, that terrible weather really was something wasn't it?"
Jon (thinking): "It's been sunny since time began, what is she talking about?"

In one day, strangers became friends, friends became partners...

...partners became fiancees...

...fiancees became spouses...

...spouses became painting slaves.

Jon (thinking): "Why did I agree to this?"

I'm pretty sure that painting slaves (other skills slave) is a synonym for husband in these dynasties. Good start!

Best of luck! Mr. Lesson is an easy woo and could make a lovely painting, fishing, gardening slave.

Chapter Two: I've made a terrible mistake

It's tough to say what's harder. Getting through the earliest stages of a Dynasty, or realising that you drastically overestimated the lifespan of a Sim. See, Jon is an Adult at the start of the game, whereas our hero Lauren is but a Young Adult. So when he aged up to Elder, she aged up to Adult, with 21 days until she becomes an Elder too. By my calculations, carrying the 1, factoring in the skyrmionic contributions and remembering the Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction*, he's probably going to die long before she becomes an Elder. So I'm going to have to speedrun painting.... again.

Well, in the meantime, painting isn't all our two lovebirds got up to.

Please welcome Generation II: Claire Herrington!

Of course, it wouldn't be an immortal dynasty without ignoring the kid until they're a toddler!

And of course, that time is now! Cue Claire "Crazy-Eyes" Herrington, esq., toddler!

They grow up so fast! :')

To top off this short, ultrafast update, I'd like to share with you a snippet of conversation between new best friends Hannah Jones and Lauren Herrington.

Hannah: "Why are we in your bathroom Lauren?"
Lauren: "Shut up and let me talk about Art for 17 hours"
Hannah: "YAY! We're best friends now!"

*these are all actual concepts in high-energy physics!!

good luck.

Rachel

Cheers, I'm going to need it! :P

You might be right :P

Guess I know what he's doing in retirement then!

Great seeing you back here Seab!

Cheers Trip! Honestly it was seeing the return of the Ironstar Immortals that inspired me to write this one up :)

Aww, I'm flattered. The Ironstars weathered speed-skilling and their original painter being an adult, and that part turned out alright. I send their blessings. ;) Is Hannah gonna be our new painter since she decided to think about it anyways?

Lauren, Claire, and Jon thank the Ironstars for their blessings. ;) Hannah's a maybe, if I remember correctly she has Level 1 painting at the start of the game? Lauren was chatting to her to fulfil the "Making Nice with the Newsies" opportunity. Our new painting slave will probably be Billy Caspian. :)

Hey all - an update will be coming soon. I’ve been away on holiday recently and the day I got back I had to jet off on a research trip.

Good luck with getting another artist up to speed before Jon dies! (And "spouses become painting slaves" got a real laugh out of me, lol!)

Claire is so cute! It seems that all of them become painting slaves, doesn't it?
