So, I got a new gaming computer mostly for the sims. I had all the sims 4 and its packs downloaded by the time I realised that the C drive is not the one with the space, its D that's got the terabyte. Now I have a couple of questions (which are probably stupid but please forgive me, I'm not good with technical stuff and with my internet it takes me a whole day to download a base game alone so I really don't want to have to redo this).

First, I changed the download location to D when I went to download sims 3 to see if it would work. It said it couldn't do it in a root directory. I made a folder and it started downloading into that folder fine. Is it alright just to drop it into a folder there or is there something else I need to do? And if I can, where do I need to place my store content worlds and items within that? In that initial folder I created or elsewhere in the files?

Second, can I paste over the sims 4 I've already downloaded straight into the other drive or do I need to redownload it? If so, can I change in origin where it looks for it somehow?

You can't move it because if you downloaded it on C: drive, Origin will only recognise the Sims 4 file in the C: drive
