In this episode -- with hardly any coughing at all! -- Lord Bernard Escargot Shallot IV improves his Basket Ball Sport skills.
Look! He's rubbish at Basket Ball Sport.
Dennis asks his lovely wife if the plan to grow a nobleman for their daughter is wise. Isn't Bernard dangerously odd looking?
"No matter, dear husband! Ariadne has you as a father! She might be a fright too."
I may or may not have the wonderful witticism from
Trial by Jury in mind.
"You'll soon get used to her looks", said he
"And a very nice girl you'll find her!
She could very well pass for forty-three,
In the dusk, with a light behind her".
But as we know, Aridane is an
very handsome lass. Calm down there. Just scroll up a bit. (Yes, this room has always had a skylight, I've not often taken a picture at the right time.)
The poor girl can hear her parents talking about her.
Mimsy got a short skirt and denim jacket to go with her boots that she already had.
I actually don't like that. And I changed it later.
Bernard comes equipped with max painting, but no progress in the aspiration.
It's not super necessary that he paints, we have money trees now, but it's something to do outside when the weather allows. After Escargot is released upon the world (spoiler, he's not going to be pretty), we have 6 sims in that tiny house. When it's rainy, it's a bit crowded. Having something for them to do outside is a must.
Sunday, start of a new week, and another Starlight Award ceremony. This is now autumn, week 20.
Bernard and Mimsy stayed at home. I make no attempt to explain that other than I didn't want to deal with juggling so many sims. The active family arrived a little under-dressed for the occasion.
Ariadne and Uncle Aidan!
Scarlet won again. Note Judith Ward having a snooze at the back. I'm sorry if we're not interesting enough for you Judy. Holly Alto and Kari have the same dress! Have they not been at a ceremony like this, matching like this until now?!
A day later, and Ariadne is wrapping up her childhood goals. She completed Whiz Kid when she got an A at school on Monday, and also completed her fitness badge to get gold scout!
Her gold scout trophy is on the dresser, and the picture is strategically including that. School project and a few lessons on being sorry...
... (always raise conflict resolution in children), and it was time to see our next, and final kid of gen 3, as a teenager.
There she is. You'll notice that the dress and hair of the single picture I posted is actually what she aged up with. I had to find nicer eyebrows, and I gave the bridge of her nose a bit more definition.
She wasn't born a spellcaster, but Scarlet gave her the Right of Ascension right away.
Apart from wanting to strengthen the bloodline, it's a milestone for her Spellcraft & Sorcery aspiration. I like to pick a knowledge aspiration when aging to teen for the Quick Learner trait. I'm
half optimizing my sims in this save. I can't quite let go of all little things to boost skill gain. She randomly rolled Self-Absorbed (I've never played a sim with that trait, because if you're choosing a trait strategically for the most benefit it gives why would you?), and that goes well with Perfectionist.
The family triptych. Scarlet, Ariadne, Dennis.
Scarlet being carried away by aliens!
It's fine that it's Scarlet, but I
hope it's not an indication that more abductions are in the family's future. If Bernard or Dennis got pregnant I would not be amused. Maybe I made an alien friend who was wearing a disguise? That's probably it.
As soon as one has a teen, one starts with aspirations like Beach Life and Fab Wealth. Ariadne aged up Monday evening of autumn. I've played enough to know she won't get school at such short notice, so Tuesday was free and there was a quick trip from Windenburg to the beach to eat a coconut and get a tan.
She'll have school Wednesday and Friday. --Thursday is Harvestfest, therefore no school, and will be used to raise all positive character traits. And at that point, hopefully she'll be an A student, fully ready to age up to YA and go to uni on Monday. Yes, we're rushing through these goals, but she's still as well raised as possible (okay, self-absorbed excepted) and this is offset by being at university with her while Escargot grows up.
Anywho, Scarlet is level 8 in the detective career and this very difficult case took her to StrangerVille. The APB is, of course, describing a suspect in their everyday outfit. But this is StrangerVille, and even in the fall, it's still hot. So... the suspect described as wearing a jacket and slacks was in fact in a short summer dress in the Solar Flare.
Luckily, the game is also buggy. I knew who to arrest because this wasn't the first time I had issued the APB. When I first arrested the subject, it was in the park, but the subject didn't spawn back at the station. I issued the APB again, and here we are in a heatwave. But I knew who it was.
That Solar Flare (I'm fairly sure) was plucked from a SimsieSave, but the regular one would do. And those are Spa Day windows that I swapped out. Yes, I didn't turn it into Jane Austen's tea room. You're impressed.
That evening, Mimsy gave birth to Escargot Shallot. It's a family name, therefore it's lovely.
About a day later his mother hatched him into a toddler.
Even with the planned
Escape to University at the end of the week, he should reach Top Notch Toddler because the Tiny Living bonuses are that powerful. He'll have to have his potty on the lawn though. I'm really not as pedantic or realistic with my Sims as you might hope.
Since they first met, Mimsy and Scarlet have been best friends.
And Dennis, who long since maxed fitness, has been helping Bernard with basketball who is getting pretty good at it.
Yes, that is his athletic outfit. No, I'm not changing it.
Finally, here is Bernard's son and heir, Escargot Shallot.
We presume this gentleman of noble birth is a French gentleman.
