I have no idea how our ancestors survived the 1800's without dying of heatstroke.  Check out what people wore back then, under the clothes you can actually see!  And they wore it no matter what the weather was!
I'm not surprised that they're always Flirty, I've only seen them a couple times but-- I use WW, and both times I did run into them, they were busy making little ghosts.

I believe you! They clearly have a lot of unique scripting, and I think they have some to make them flirty to tie in with the backstory. It overrides any other emotion they otherwise would be in. They had nothing at all to trigger it, yet they were both very flirty. I think it wore off. Maybe changing lots or sleep removed it. And it ties in with Mimsy's romantic and jealous traits. By default her husband is always going to be in a flirty mood... and she's usually jealous. Retraiting an original townie seems to go against the spirit of using these premade sims, but for Mimsy I might just.

I found the jealousy trait quite funny in my P10. My jealous spouse was angry or tense throughout his heiress wife's process of making good friends and throwing parties for her dynasty requirements.
Once that was done, though, he was quite fine. Usually happy enough or Very [insert mood here] enough to override any jealousy-induced angry or tense moods.
Besides giving birth to Shallot Jr, she doesn't really need to achieve anything, does she? Besides raise Jr?

I s'pose not, but other premade sims in the family tree like Nancy, Geeta, Dennis etc do get to live in a nice house, and not just exist off stage. I don't need them to achieve anything though. That's true. So a lack of clubs for Bernard and Mimsy isn't an obstacle at all. Even raising Shallot Jr to be great isn't strictly necessary. Though he'll no doubt reach top notch toddler in 2 days.

As an aside, the wiki was right in that when either of these sims is taken to CAS their names are blank. I couldn't fit in all of Bernie's many names, and he's only Lord Bernard Shallot IV. I couldn't fit in the Escargot. I rather think the son ought to be Escargot Shallot.

First of all, I forgot to mention how absolutely lovely your house and landscaping appeared in that soft evening light.

The biggest difference between Mimsy/Bernie and the other premade sims you mentioned is that Nancy, Geeta, and Dennis all become spouses to your heirs.
Of course, they deserve to live in the "main house," so to speak.
Mimsy and Bernie, on the other hand, are "merely" parents of the future groom. Lol, let them live in the In-Law Tent. ;)
By the way, I think Mimsy is awfully cute.
Haha, Escargot Shallot. Nice!

I remembered the triptych request. :) Putting that update together now. She'll have an unusual husband I think. Escargot's life will be somewhat expedited, and he also features as a toddler...

In this episode -- with hardly any coughing at all! -- Lord Bernard Escargot Shallot IV improves his Basket Ball Sport skills.

Look! He's rubbish at Basket Ball Sport.

Dennis asks his lovely wife if the plan to grow a nobleman for their daughter is wise. Isn't Bernard dangerously odd looking?

"No matter, dear husband! Ariadne has you as a father! She might be a fright too."

I may or may not have the wonderful witticism from Trial by Jury in mind.

"You'll soon get used to her looks", said he
"And a very nice girl you'll find her!
She could very well pass for forty-three,
In the dusk, with a light behind her".

But as we know, Aridane is an very handsome lass. Calm down there. Just scroll up a bit. (Yes, this room has always had a skylight, I've not often taken a picture at the right time.)

The poor girl can hear her parents talking about her.

Mimsy got a short skirt and denim jacket to go with her boots that she already had.

I actually don't like that. And I changed it later.

Bernard comes equipped with max painting, but no progress in the aspiration.

It's not super necessary that he paints, we have money trees now, but it's something to do outside when the weather allows. After Escargot is released upon the world (spoiler, he's not going to be pretty), we have 6 sims in that tiny house. When it's rainy, it's a bit crowded. Having something for them to do outside is a must.

Sunday, start of a new week, and another Starlight Award ceremony. This is now autumn, week 20.

Bernard and Mimsy stayed at home. I make no attempt to explain that other than I didn't want to deal with juggling so many sims. The active family arrived a little under-dressed for the occasion.

Ariadne and Uncle Aidan!

Scarlet won again. Note Judith Ward having a snooze at the back. I'm sorry if we're not interesting enough for you Judy. Holly Alto and Kari have the same dress! Have they not been at a ceremony like this, matching like this until now?!

A day later, and Ariadne is wrapping up her childhood goals. She completed Whiz Kid when she got an A at school on Monday, and also completed her fitness badge to get gold scout!

Her gold scout trophy is on the dresser, and the picture is strategically including that. School project and a few lessons on being sorry...

... (always raise conflict resolution in children), and it was time to see our next, and final kid of gen 3, as a teenager.

There she is. You'll notice that the dress and hair of the single picture I posted is actually what she aged up with. I had to find nicer eyebrows, and I gave the bridge of her nose a bit more definition.

She wasn't born a spellcaster, but Scarlet gave her the Right of Ascension right away.

Apart from wanting to strengthen the bloodline, it's a milestone for her Spellcraft & Sorcery aspiration. I like to pick a knowledge aspiration when aging to teen for the Quick Learner trait. I'm half optimizing my sims in this save. I can't quite let go of all little things to boost skill gain. She randomly rolled Self-Absorbed (I've never played a sim with that trait, because if you're choosing a trait strategically for the most benefit it gives why would you?), and that goes well with Perfectionist.

The family triptych. Scarlet, Ariadne, Dennis.

Scarlet being carried away by aliens!

It's fine that it's Scarlet, but I hope it's not an indication that more abductions are in the family's future. If Bernard or Dennis got pregnant I would not be amused. Maybe I made an alien friend who was wearing a disguise? That's probably it.

As soon as one has a teen, one starts with aspirations like Beach Life and Fab Wealth. Ariadne aged up Monday evening of autumn. I've played enough to know she won't get school at such short notice, so Tuesday was free and there was a quick trip from Windenburg to the beach to eat a coconut and get a tan.

She'll have school Wednesday and Friday. --Thursday is Harvestfest, therefore no school, and will be used to raise all positive character traits. And at that point, hopefully she'll be an A student, fully ready to age up to YA and go to uni on Monday. Yes, we're rushing through these goals, but she's still as well raised as possible (okay, self-absorbed excepted) and this is offset by being at university with her while Escargot grows up.

Anywho, Scarlet is level 8 in the detective career and this very difficult case took her to StrangerVille. The APB is, of course, describing a suspect in their everyday outfit. But this is StrangerVille, and even in the fall, it's still hot. So... the suspect described as wearing a jacket and slacks was in fact in a short summer dress in the Solar Flare.

Luckily, the game is also buggy. I knew who to arrest because this wasn't the first time I had issued the APB. When I first arrested the subject, it was in the park, but the subject didn't spawn back at the station. I issued the APB again, and here we are in a heatwave. But I knew who it was.

That Solar Flare (I'm fairly sure) was plucked from a SimsieSave, but the regular one would do. And those are Spa Day windows that I swapped out. Yes, I didn't turn it into Jane Austen's tea room. You're impressed.

That evening, Mimsy gave birth to Escargot Shallot. It's a family name, therefore it's lovely.

About a day later his mother hatched him into a toddler.

Even with the planned Escape to University at the end of the week, he should reach Top Notch Toddler because the Tiny Living bonuses are that powerful. He'll have to have his potty on the lawn though. I'm really not as pedantic or realistic with my Sims as you might hope.

Since they first met, Mimsy and Scarlet have been best friends.

And Dennis, who long since maxed fitness, has been helping Bernard with basketball who is getting pretty good at it.

Yes, that is his athletic outfit. No, I'm not changing it.

Finally, here is Bernard's son and heir, Escargot Shallot.

We presume this gentleman of noble birth is a French gentleman.

Thanks so much for the triptych!
Huh, Ariadne looks very little like Dennis, except for her nose which is slightly more defined (but not by much) than Scarlet's.
Also, Ariadne's lips are not as full but still lovely.

Oh Escargot! Que mignon!
He looks exactly like his mother but with his father's hair color and...does he share Mimsy's eye color?
Haha, based on his toddler face, I can imaging you are deferring the disappointment of his teen looks for our later appreciation.
I shall wait patiently for the moment of that reveal. What suspense!

For some reason, Bernie reminds me of Joaquin Le Chien. Is it the hair?

When I have a detective, I ignore the clothing clues.  Age, gender, hair color, and personality trait are plenty to go on, and the clothing usually turns out to be completely wrong.

Well done on the Bernard and Mimsy project! Little Shallot looks like he’ll need a touch of eye work, but otherwise fine. Do I detect Dennis’s ears under Ariadne’s hair?

I wonder if anyone has played a Criminal Legacy / Dynasty, where you only get spouses from sims you arrest, or who are already locked up.

@reggikko Yes! It was a good project! Little Shallot definitely will need some help, but for the sake of genetic experimentation, I might only change him after he's fathered a child. He's got his mother's mouth, but that's an easy CAS fix. I've only just noticed how Ariadne's ears are slightly clipping through her hair in the triptych, but they don't stick out like Dennis'.

@Brian_Z I'm usually issuing the APB with 4 clues. And the cork board looks full so I stop. Well, the clothing clues haven't tripped me up yet, but after that experience I'm a little more wary. I was even asking the sims -- after instant friendship -- to show me other outfits, but they didn't.

@oshizu I'll deny everything. It wasn't me.

Oh, Joaquin wears it better.

Both Mini-Shallot's parents have blue eyes of some shade, but Mimsy's seem to be darker? Without being totally sure, and only seeing the posts here, I'd say he has her eyes. I rather like his colouring. The shapes are the problem. Escargot won't go with Ariadne to university. He'll age up off stage. (I did cheat to see him grown... and... he's no pinup.)

Noooo, don't change Shallot Junior's mouth! He can & Ariadne can have two girls--one with those tiny rosebud lips!
Lol.

I'm happy to go along with that plan. But if I do fertility a massage and other such stuff and get triplets not twins it'll throw my neat 10-sim pyramid off. Hobart, Ava, and Ariadne will have 4 kids between them. So someone has to have two. Ava is a bit awkward genetically, and Hobart will produce a blue sim. So Ariadne gets two girls. Done. A boy each for Hobart and Ava.

I'll add a chapter soon, probably tomorrow. These shots of a lightning strike on Mimsy don't really move the plot on, but I wanna show them anyway.

The tiny house when everyone is inside is really tiny. University can't come soon enough. Desperately checking Ariadne's application status, because I want her to start on Monday.
