Edit Town

In edit town I have just creatd a lot, put a copy of a "sims house" on the lot, copied the sim and placed on lot. Saved game.  Stupid question but how do I get to play this household as no purple house icon when I go back to play game

In case it's a new game:
Click on "Return to Game" (from Edit Town), then click Choose Household, click the one you put down, and play.

In case it's not a new game: While in Edit Town, click on the button that is located by the top-left area of the little menu, where it says Change Active Household (icon is two little houses). Change the household to the one you placed, and play.
