Discover University Confirmed!! Information thread.

@scoed robots being added to the family household doesn't mean that is it a new life state as such. Obviously I hope they are but just taking up a household slot isn't official confirmation. We need to be able to fully control a robot for it to be a new life state really. Pets take up household member slots too but aren't controllable so we'll have to hope they show how robots function in the Live Stream.

I would add though, compared to previous iterations it is not a stretch of the imagination to say that all TS4 packs have been light on content.

Why worry about something we can't control? I'm sure modders will be out making mods to do things to the pack making it what they want and what others want.

@Playalot I never stated it was a playable lifestate, infact I pointed out we don't know one way or the other, but it takes a slot, and it not a normal sim thus a new lifestate. I hope it is like a sim not like a cat or dog. Fact is we don't know. We don't know much on anything besides bikes. And we don't  even know if children can use bikes. Anyway I think on the main point we are in agreement. We are concerned about lack of depth, and it will lack play like Island Living and/or be poorly executed thus reducing play amd challenges like Realm of Magic. The lack of information is sounding all kinds of warning bells in my head.

That said I need to run some errands when I come back I will see if new information is up.

Well an unplayable new life state doesn't sound like much fun to me so let's hope that is not the case because if the developers start calling unplayable characters a 'life state' then I think that would be an all time new low for sure.

@Deklitch  definitely not worrying about the pack lol, that ship has long sailed (by many years actually). But I do think it is important to not confuse NPC's with a life state, regardless of what Discovering University brings.

Sorry everyone for the lack of updates lately but the Simgurus are being so silent there just isn't any. Not even pointless screenshots. All we are getting is petty crap with zero content
 My intrest is at an all time low in this pack. Don't worry I will keep this thread updated, if they every release any info. I am just kinda losing interest as there is nothing to talk about.

Just popped in to let you know all is quite on the Discover University new information front. I checked 8 different SimGuru twitter pages, other threads that compile information, the official site, there face book, YouTube, Twitch, and I asked Google. Nothing. Well nothing but the developers poking at one another. Just wanted to let everyone know I am still looking for new information. It just doesn't exist.

@sdhoey  That particular Discover University screeshot is from the Official Blog here and was first seen in the Teaser/Announcement Trailer. Interestingly the playing ping pong stance is the same as the animation for playing darts from Get Together.

Today's update has nothing new really but it is official communication about DU. Which is something of a rare thing this time around. I am desperate for content, so I posted it.

I also wanted to point out there will be a November Monthly Maxis, so free stuff coming, but no dates or times. I would think it would be soon as the DU prep patch must be coming soon as DU launches in 11 days. This post has the tweets.

Yes, 11 days. I just found out Sims Camp is going on as we speak. Maybe they will release the game play trailer there. Given the lack of news about DU it Is easy to over look. @oshizu given how little they are promoting DU, I can see how one can forget about it coming so soon.
