Well done! Elwyn got those requirements done in no time, and with almost no help. I’d feel sorry for him, but he’s known Cristal so long that he ought to have known what he was getting into. Him rushing to complete the last pumpkin was so funny!
Now that you’ve finished, may I ask how much you planned from the beginning? Did you know each heir’s unique skill and career?
@Meg Elwyn was the only heir with an only child, too, so--in addition to all the adult parties--he also barely earned gold for the toddler play date.
Cristal was not helpful at parties but her gardening and childcare meant that Elwyn could focus on his requirements. Honestly, she was quite a funny, unpredictable sim to play.
As for planning, I had a personal rule of only visiting worlds where the current or previous dynasty households lived (as I mentioned recently, I think), with an exception for Sulani.
So I started with my favorite world, Oasis Springs, then initially planned the sequence of worlds the heirs would move, ending with Strangerville, based on what amenities/community lots each world offered.
That's why the second generation moved to San Myshuno for the festivals, Art Gallery, and produce stall.
I pushed Sulani/Glimmerbrook toward the end because I was unfamiliar with Island Living/Realm of Magic gameplay.
Then, I decided on collections with thought to what each world offered or the lot size available.
Finally, I chose the career + unique skill combo based mostly on that generation's collection.
If a world didn't suggest a unique collection, then I chose a career/skill combo that seemed to make sense for that heir's "personality/traits."
Haha, that was probably way more detail than you'd wanted. But, there it is. All planned out using LenaLJ's spreadsheet from the start.
Wow, excitement right to the end! Cristal sabotaging the party, Mocha's unexpected illness...craziness! Still, way better than game glitching nonsense and such that could have caused more crippling drama!
Congratulations, my friend, on being the first to finish a Po10!! Of course, the rest of us who are trying this dynasty also want to offer thanks for showing us how it's done ;=) Definitely going to steal borrow all the inspiration I can from this ;=)
Can't wait to see what challenge you take on next!
@PeregrineTook I just had to check how that "Request a carved pumpkin" social worked for a Spooky Party and quickly learned that it didn't, at least for my sims.
Once a guest abandons their unfinished pumpkin, my hosts cannot ask them to finish it, haha. And a host cannot resume carving another sim's unfinished pumpkin, either.
I had the child sim running around doing some of the other party tasks (Request Party Treat 0/2 and Perform Mischief social 0/3).
I'd always waited until my heir's twins aged up to teens and had them carve the pumpkins. Still the easiest route, in my book!
Of course, Mocha has to age up and get sick right before the challenge ends.
But the Tiny House offers an insane skilling boost! Elwyn got to Vet 5 from treating Mocha just once!
But I'd say some skills are boosted more by a Micro/Tiny House than others. Elwyn took much longer than 2 sim-hours to reach Video Gaming 5.
Borrow away, Pippin. Sharing is caring, right? Which reminds me that I need to finish my Sharebears Legacy.
For my next challenge, I'll be jumping on
@reggikko 's bandwagon, so whatever she does next, that's what I'll be doing.
