5.23: Drinks on the House
Wednesday, Week 25
Seiji: Now that we live together, what's the plan?
Rafael: The next few days are going to be awfully busy. *starts counting fingers
We need to try for baby and get married.
We also need to go fishing for dragonfruit and a cow berry.
Seiji: We haven't built a home yet, so that's top priority, too.
Plus, I'm a cat-lover. I get a cat, right? Right!?
Rafael: Can you believe my brother gave me grief for cooking in their kitchen?
I had to buy the Always Welcome trait to finish our wedding cake!
Seiji: Are you sure it's okay to be in your parents' bedroom?
Rafael: Yeah, Papa understands what it's like to be homeless.
He said he didn't want us to making babies in public somewhere.
Seiji: Why are you standing there smiling?
Rafael: Eh, Watcher missed taking a shot of you proposing.
So I'm waiting for her take another shot, showing how happy I am.
We're engaged and you want to throw up---Life is perfect so far.
Seiji: Huh, you're easy to please, aren't you?
Calico Club's wedding arch is waaaaay on the other side of the entrance.
Seiji runs over there as if it's the 50-yard dash!
All of our guests finally arrive at the wedding arch, too.
In the dark, Seiji and I exchange vows before our family and friends (but mostly family).
We do earn a gold medal for our wedding party, with no thanks to the venue.
First, it's unsuitable for an evening wedding because the wedding arch isn't illuminated.
Second, everyone kept getting into the pool. Even Seiji changed out of their wedding gown!
Personally, I'd only recommend Club Calico for a daytime elopement or a summer swimming party.
As soon as the party ends, Seiji takes a pregnancy test (which we already knew would be positive).
First-trimester baby bump!
Back at Tail's End, we finally lay down our home's foundation, outer walls, and roofing.
At this point, the house is barely furnished, so we go the Connections route for extra cash.
We want to raise our young in a fully feathered nest. Who doesn't want that?
We spend most of Thursday fishing.
It's evening by the time we've caught six dragonfruit each.
On the way home, we stop at San Myshuno's Art Quarters.
I buy a variety of fruits plus 18 strawberries for Seiji.
We're hoping for little girls that resemble a little of both of us.
By Friday, our Cape Cod home's exterior is complete, except for windows and outdoor flooring.
Inside, we still need floor and wall coverings almost everywhere.
Apart from the master bedroom, we've done nothing at all on the second floor.
Here's the back of the house. I'm experimenting with a smaller, L-shaped garden.
Ironic, right? I'm the dynasty botanist yet my garden's the smallest thus far.
Seiji and I are still discussing what to do with all the extra backyard space.
And we may rethink the open-ceiling great hall at the back of the house.
Maybe we'd make better use of that 2nd-story space as another patio?
Friday's my first day of work.
Before leaving home, Seiji asks again for a cat and promises to complete three tasks.
Fertilize our dozen dragonfruit plants, eat 18 strawberries, and read three skill books.
How can I say no when Seiji is trying so hard?
I'm delighted to bring home a promotion to the Botanist career.
The white coat makes me look oh-so-intellectual, don't you think? Hahaha.
After finishing the third book (at last), Seiji phones and asks to meet two kittens.
Mochi is a Siberian Forest cat. He's affectionate, friendly, and talkative.
Sasha is a Norwegian Forest cat. She's lazy, skittish, and a free spirit.
We both befriend Mochi easily, but Sasha initially hisses at Seiji.
Choosing Mochi is a no-brainer, but we don't like the name Mochi (it's Japanese for "pounded sweet-rice cake").
His new name is Mocha Pries. Welcome to the family!
Sunday, Week 26
After ending the adoption evaluation, Seiji has just enough time for a fertility massage before going into labor.
Meet our twin girls! We gave them names to go with our new kitty's name.
Kahlua is born first, followed by Chai.
Huh? No, I guess not.
The Pries dynasty doesn't have a cool naming system like the other P10 dynasties.
Once the sun rises, we take the time to change the orientation of our house.
Travel will be easier for everyone, now that the front door faces our lot's entry point.
If only Watcher had built the house this way in the first place…
We're planning to leave the twins with a nanny for several hours.
Seiji seems more loathe to leave Mocha behind than the girls.
I can't imagine why.
Mocha: I'm only a kitten for 2-3 days, you know!
Today's the Flea Market so we spend a few hours socializing there.
I've little hope that we'll complete a collection of MySims Trophies.
In any case, we end up buying everything on the table.
We're still missing 5, including one rare. Fat chance!
Did I mention that "talking about Herbalism" didn't boost my Herbalism level?
As Plan B, we go to Granite Falls where I try identifying 3 herb types in the National Park.
But there's no harvestable Poisonous Fireleaf, so we travel to the Deep Forest.
By identifying a Morel Mushroom, I max my unique skill. Finally!
On Monday, I earn another promotion then do one odd job after arriving home.
Seiji's hired a nanny and trying to prepare for the twin's toddlerhood.
While learning gourmet cooking, Seiji prepares a gourmet pet recipe for Mocha.
That Cubed Carcass Francetti certainly doesn't look very appetizing, does it?
We age up the twins as soon as their birthday notices arrive.
Here they are, right out of the bassinet.
That's our sixth-generation heir Kahlua with me, while Chai toddles toward Seiji.
Here they are again, post-makeover in their everyday wear.
Kahlua keeps her original hair because her color is lavender.
Curiously, both girls have droopy eyebrows, though neither Seiji nor I have them.
Could the founder's droopy eyebrows have made a reappearance?

Watcher's Remarks
*Mocha: I feel bad for Mocha already because he deserves more attention.
Since Rafael married cat-loving Seiji and they live in Brindleton Bay, adopting a kitten seemed like a good idea.
We're missing out on Mocha's kitten days!
*Right after Rafael left Windenburg, I added cat-friendly objects to one rental each in Granite Falls and Selvadorada.
Elsewhere, my sims can make do with a portable litterbox, food bowl, and cat bed.
