I laid out all the pages, many of which are blank but will soon be populated. Pam sent me a number of items from her Dynasty. I put up the first sim, samoht04's Rabbit Character. She's a real cutie, and I like the way the page looks myself. That's really all the information we need. Thanks for setting the standard, Thomas.

I have templates that are making adding new items easier on me.  8)

Anyone want to share the first Mansion?

I'm just about finished the first challenge here. When I'm done, I might do some building - something exclusively for this site.

It's in the first post, or go in through the Build Mode page I just updated with 5 items from Pam. I've got 22 more to go from her!!  8)

When I tried to download it, the page said there was an error.  It was the sim that thomas made.  Something about a missing character.

Edit:  "The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Invalid at the top level of the document. Error processing resource 'http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/files/buildmode/bubb..."

Guess that might help.  Same thing happened when I tried to download Pam's stuff too.

Sorry for the double post, but wondering if that pop up bar I am getting has anything to do with it.  When I hit "download now", that bar popped up at the top of the page.  I guess I could try it and see if that has anything to do with it, but I really doubt it.

I am still unsure how to get what I make from my sims to your mail box.  Maybe I missed something along the way here.  I will reread this post and see if I missed something.

Edit: I think I found it, but will have to experiment, for some reason I am not grabbing the concept, duh.  Once I do it, then it will be fine.  Maybe I am going senile in my old age, lol.

Can you right click and save as? It sounds like it's trying to open it for some odd reason. I don't have any trouble downloading with Firefox...

Hi All I  just tried to download Ausettes Rose Dress - When I click on download, a page opens up to text coding.
I tried Pams Bubblegum Bedroom Wall and I get the same, page of text/coding
I also tried right clicking, save as and it wants to save it as a dreamweaverbedroomwall.Sims3Pack.txt
So the export file is showing a .txt extension after Sims3Pack
I am trying this on a Mac and using Safari

I was able to save without issue in my windows version of Safari, so I asked Metropolis Man who's a Mac user to look into it for me. He was able to download by right clicking, save as, and remove the .txt extension that it wants to add so that you're left with the file name ending in .Sims3Pack

Using Firefox on the PC I was able to download Ausette's Dress okay. I had some trouble with the Launcher Crashing when I opened the file but I closed it and opened it manually and it seemed to appear in the downloads section. (I will install it after I do a re-install of my game!)

I'm trying to understand this, sorry If I sound a bit stupid-but now that we are going to be uploading our files (that we want to share here at the Swap Shop) to the Sims3 Exchange, then it won't really be exclusive to just here, correct?  Since it'll now be in the Sims 3 exchange then it would be available to others that are members there also and not just members here? I hope I'm making sense?

I did download Ausettes dress, took off the extention.txt, saved it to my desktop and I do now have the file rosedress.simspack3
Using a Mac--I put this file in Documents, Electronic Arts, The Sims, Downloads  I started up my game and do not see the dress.  I do see the others but not the one with Ausettes Rose Pattern--What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Of course, we can't tell anyone what to do with things they've created...  but, personally, I plan to delete things from the Exchange once they are safely uploaded to the Swap Shop.

On PC you just double click the file and it's set to open with the Sims 3 launcher. It has to be ".Sims3Pack" so I assume the 3 hanging at the end of the file you have there is a typo. If double clicking it doesn't work, I'll find out what does later tonight.
