Sevinn: Week 47

Hello to all again!

The following will no doubt be the favourite picture of many but please remember ...

... she was my mother. *Sniff* I will miss her dearly.

R.I.P. Lihua (Wang) Sunburst, dead @ 128 days old [So not cool for a gen6 spouse!]

With Tu's permission I move the easel with Mom's almost done painting of me up into my room.

Seasons come to Twinbrook on Tuesday and we all head out to find the ways in which Twinbrook has changed. Fhore goes swimming with the sharks. [Although not technically the ocean, swimming off the beach in Twinbrook does fulfill the wish to swim in the sea.]

Buying ice cream from the ice cream truck now serves a purpose - to cool off an over-heated Sim.

The rest of the week is full of boring every day's the same stuff. Then, the festival arrives at central park!

Tu, Therie, and Fyve participate in a hot dog eating contest. Tu is the winner although the ladies give it their best!

Fhore and Sciks (AKA Dad) try out the soccer net. Having retired from the Sports career Dad may be a little rusty but Fhore never manages to bean him in the head.

Even after all those hot dogs, Tu still finds room to enjoy a snow cone. He says "it's just water!" I guess he has a point.

And of course, it is never a "real" party without the Grim Reaper in attendance. There will be no more food sold here tonight, folks.

How many Sims can skate on the small rink at once? Eight. All seven Sunbursts and one townie festival goer.

Therie catches the Dynasty's first glow-something, from LN we think.

While the rest of us ignore our growling stomachs for bigger glowy stuff! KABOOM!

And then, when everyone else goes home to bed, I spin and spin and spin on the skating rink all by my lonesome.

After Mom's death freed up the eighth and final spot for this Dynasty, babies have been on my mind. I've never given this part of being the seventh much thought. I decided long ago there wasn't much point in dating anyone if I couldn't get married anyway. But somehow I have to have a baby. Maybe one of the elders has an idea.

Even Bambi has his Bambina.

Next Week: Fall arrives!

The fireworks were good! I expected them to last longer so I didn't get a picture. Oh well, next time.

And yes, I am enjoying Seasons very much! I love listening to the rain and thunder. EA did a good job with those.

Congrats on Lihua finally accepting her fate! I'm sure she's happy wherever she is.

I'm anxious to see the final Sunburst now.

Sevinn: Week 48

This is my beautiful and perfect son, `Eht Sunburst, the last of this Dynasty. Say hi to the readers of our story, sweety.

OK, so he winked. That's his way of saying hi to you all. `Eht is neurotic like me and loves the cold, good thing since he is born on Tuesday, the first day of Autumn. He loves Chinese music (his grandma Lihua was from China) and the colour Seafoam. We'll find out his favourite food when he gets old enough to eat solids.

So how did this little one's life come to be, you ask. Well, I can't get married so I've never seen a point to having a serious relationship, it would just lead to the inevitable conversation that included me having to close the ring box. Why would I choose to get involved in a relationship if I'd just have to break the guy's heart anyway? I didn't think that was fair to me or him. But the Dynasty must be completed and there is no way I'm going to let a little thing like having a nooboo cause it to fail with me!

So, like any girl in my situation, I turned to the elders for help. I picked the craziest idea put forth: France + something called a "game glitch" = an original townie father for my child. No strings attached.

Generations ago, the family had this weird tradition of doing something called a potential spouse parade, I'm sure you guys have read about these things. And the family used to travel. Back when Therie was a child the family spent some time in France, which lead to every eligible male from France being invited over to Twinbrook for Therie's potential spouse parade when she became a teen. One of those young men never made it back to France. He became what I've come to understand as "stuck" in Twinbrook: he never moved into a house here but his picture in Therie's relationship book always showed him as visiting from France, he never made it home. He was invited over numerous times to see if his travel agent would call and say that a flight had been booked for him but every time he would simply say, "It's getting late I need to go home" and he would disappear back into the not-here-not-there state. Needless to say, a friendship was forged between this young man and every member of the Sunburst house; until the day that messages started arriving informing the family that he was getting old and we should pay him a visit. Knowing Grimm's affinity for crashing any type of gathering, the elders stopped inviting him over. Now, four generations later, Tu made the call.

Many of those of you that read our story voted for this man to marry Therie but he was passed over for a Twinbrook original townie offspring. After all this time, he said he would be honoured to father the last Sunburst. I really appreciate his insistence on courting me, supporting me through the pregnancy, and being there when our child was born. I love his old-fashioned values, they made what should have been a very awkward three days a delight, I never felt more cherished.

Saturday - the courtship:

Saturday - the Dynasty duty:

Sunday - the announcement:

Monday - the support:

Tuesday - the PAIN!:

Tuesday evening the Sunburst Dynasty sees the birth of the final Sunburst, a boy name `Eht, son of Sevinn and Henri Fouchier, France.

Many of you may remember Henri from Therie's childhood in France and subsequent potential spouse parade. Thank you for "sticking" around, Henri, and providing the last Sunburst Dynasty heir.

Here is a picture of young Henri to refresh your memory:

So that's the story of `Eht. In other Sunburst family news, Dad is busy upgrading everyone's new umbrellas to unbreakable after a few get torn up by the wind.

On Friday, the Fall Festival rolls into town and some of the elders head over to the Central Park to partake in the festivities. There is leaf raking:

Splashing in puddles with newly fixed umbrellas to ward off getting wet from above:

Becoming a ghost (Tu) or peeing your pants (Therie and Fhore) after a trip through the Haunted House:

Bobbing for apples:

And making themselves sick in the Pie Eating Contest:

The best part of the evening though: two paparazzi down and out!

Back at home, I get `Eht up from his afternoon nap. (Check out the new Seafoam linens on the old Sunburst crib.)

It's time for my son to grow into a toddler and start the havoc he can create in this household of elders. Dad and I help `Eht celebrate with cake and noisemakers.

Here he is after his trip to the dresser and mirror. Check out the picture of his Dad above - he's got the same hair! [I decided yellow is a much more fun colour for `Eht.]

On another note, the ghost of Franklin enjoys the ... um, huge metal spinning thing in the backyard that I do not know the name of.

And as an apology for the lack of nooboo pictures of `Eht, I leave you with toddler cuteness! He loves my old horse toy.

Next Week: More toddler cuteness and Snow!

Aw, what a fun way to bring in the last generation! Your game file sure seems to enjoy letting sims have nice, long lives. Welcome to 'Eht!

*Confetti* for Eht, and a hip hip hooray for you for making it this far!

Your fun with Seasons has made me order it for myself, I hope you're happy! (No sarcasm, really, I hope it makes you happy  ;) )

Thanks for the compliments!

I should have an update before New Year's as I only have the end of Sim-Friday and then Sim-Saturday to play. The in-laws have left and we don't have plans until New Year's Eve so things are looking good. :)

Sevinn: Week 49

This week starts out with me fulfilling another Dynasty duty: potty training! I figure since all the generations before me have had to do the potty training for their kids than I should just grin-and-bare it. It actually isn't so bad. `Eht is a smart cookie and makes the cutest faces, I don't know what bothered my ancestors so much about this. This also means no more diaper changes!

Dad gladly takes on the task of teaching `Eht the mechanics of walking, while I push forward with super-maxing my riding skill.

Mom decides to come out one night and play in the leaf pile none of us have found time to play in or clean up. Looks like we've missed out on a grand ole time!

When `Eht aged up into a toddler, all the elders, and I mean all of them, popped the wish to take him for a ride on my old spring rider. Dad uses his Grandpa card and carries young `Eht out for his ride before the temperature gets to cold.

`Eht is having so much fun he gets upset when Grandpa tells him it's time to go back inside for supper. Awww, such a cute pouty face!

I pop the wish to teach my son to talk, so I give up an afternoon of riding in the advanced show jumping competitions (so close to my last international win!) to sit on the floor and encourage my son to add real words to his vocabulary.

Toddler skills complete, `Eht gets some quality time with the doll house. [AKA: toddler cuteness!]

Peeyacht and I win our first International Show Jumping competition! I reward him with a huge hug. This big guy has done his part in helping me super-max riding. Now, I just have to become best friends with one more horse and I'm golden! Time to find the wild herd again and befriend the new horse.

`Eht gets scared sometimes when he wakes up in his room, hungry and in the dark. (I really need to find time to decorate that little guy's room, at least give him a light!)

Wednesday is my birthday, my final birthday. I'm excited to join the ranks of the elders because it means I'm close to finishing my part of this Dynasty, but it's just so sad to see my body head south and having to walk hunched over and slow. I make a wish but we all know it isn't going to come true. Sigh.

Surrounded by family (Henri had to go back to France, finally), I put on happy face and blow out my candles, let the transformation begin!

[And I now realize I've totally forgotten to take a picture of Sevinn in CAS in her elder attire. Sorry.]

And just because his birthday is on Friday, and he is the last Sunburst toddler, here in some toddler cuteness. Enjoy!

He is the crying baby he is thinking of. Haha.

Since no one else got to play with the xylophone in our family inventory, I haul it out and dust it off for `Eht to bang away on as he waits for one more sleep to pass before he can become a "big" boy.

Friday morning, after Henri arrives from France, we help `Eht celebrate his "big boy" birthday.

Grandma Fyve helps him blow out his candles. That's the elder me on the left.

Here is my big boy. He's growing up so fast! He likes the puzzle pattern so much he decides to keep it for now.

Friday is also the first day it snows in Twinbrook. Henri and I help create the Sunburst Snowman Brigade on the front lawn.

Saturday, `Eht visits the new Elixir shop with Fyve to fulfill his "get an elixir" wish he pops right after his birthday. He spends his time making snow angels and snowmen outside in the cold while Fyve buys up all the elixirs and ingredients the store has, over and over until 5pm. Giving one to `Eht fulfills his wish!

This is `Eht enjoying the privileges of a skilling-free childhood, in his new room that I finally get around to decorating in seafoam and yellow. He insisted on snowflakes on his wall because he loves the cold so much!

That's all for this week, I hope you guys will be back to read the next update. It will have more Henri (I'm hoping he will visit for a couple weeks at least) and more `Eht. And hopefully Ambrosia for me!
