Sciks: Week 40This week is an interesting mixed bag of things happening around the house and Twinbrook.
Therie stays after work Sunday night and spots an interesting bird in the tiny park behind the Diner. Naturally, she picks it up and puts it in her bottomless Sim-pocket. The bird tree at home has been empty for a while now so I guess it's time for a new large bird. I think this one looks kind of funny!
The elders go a little crazy a couple of times a week and this week they decide to party it up at the Red Rendezvous playing Foosball! Oh the joys of Immortal life! Apparently, their presence turns it into the night's hotspot and every paparazzi comes to check things out.
Sami decides one night that the resident ghosts are not welcome in her home - I think she's feeling the presence of Grimm breathing down her neck now that she's an elder too. Anyway, she finds the interaction "Scare back into tomb" and tries it out. Stylist Patrick gets scared!
The interaction is a success! Patrick is scared back into the afterlife and Sami gets a garbage thought bubble immediately afterward. I'll leave that up to interpretation for each of you individually.
The imaginary friend dolls are much more interesting bedtime companions than the good ol' teddy bear. At least Sevinn's seems to enjoy it's nights in her crib.
Monday brings Sevinn's child birthday - time to buy a big girl bed - and she helps Lihua/Mommy blow out the candles in the morning right after breakfast. [Cutest toddler animation ever!]
Here she is all grown up (almost). Her favorite colour is purple.
The rest of Monday is all fun and games for Sevinn, but Tuesday morning finds her hopping on the bus for her first day of school.
Lihua thinks now that Sevinn is going to school, the best way to keep her out of trouble is to load her up with responsibility! The idea is to indulge Sevinn's love for and constant talk about horses and turn it into a learning opportunity, keeping her too busy with school, homework, and horse chores to get into trouble. This is Shadow. He is going to be the "responsibility".
My wife is a genius! Why I ever doubt her methods of parenting I have no idea! We have to drag Sevinn inside at bedtime with promises of her favorite bedtime story -
How to Ride a Horse, Volume 1. She spends her evening, after homework and dinner, hanging out with the "coolest gift ever!"
Sorry the pictures are so dark. The backyard is very quickly renovated during the day to make room for everything a horse needs to live the luxurious life, we forget adequate lighting.
This is Nooboo Sieben, our seventh gnome nooboo to be "born" on our home lot. Nooboo Sieben loves poof-ing around the yard with the other gnomes and chewing on his toes. He hopes to someday wear his hat instead of it wearing him.
I find some time this week to play with my Sami. She's getting older and, with my elder birthday staring me in the face (next week Tuesday), I'm starting to feel older too. Life sure has a way of flying by when you're having fun doesn't it? [Seriously?! A Pig for the 'play around' interaction with dogs? It goes well with the bird head in the bird tree. Very "Angry Birds-esque, or is that just me?]
I cash in some of Sami's happiness points in hopes of making her elder days as comfortable as possible. She gets the steel bladder, fancy food dish, and fancy bed.
Thursday night, Sevinn keeps her horse chores to a minimum and throws a slumber party with the neighbourhood kids instead. There were two more but they aged up to teen en-route and are too "grown up" to sleep in sleeping bags on the kitchen floor. Fun is still had by all.
Friday, Sevinn taps into the genius mind of Grandma Fyve and asks her for homework help, the last time she needs to do her homework as a child. Monday will see her becoming a teenager. Your guess is a good as mine as to the conversation that evokes that face from Grandma Fyve!
Pillow fights are a favorite past time of Sevinn's. Our family used to enjoy them when I was younger. I guess certain types of fun require a child's enthusiasm.
Until next week! There will be birthdays. And horses.
