The Timeless Short Dynasty - Chapter 5.12 - Golden
« Reply #165 on: June 21, 2021, 01:34:11 PM »
Welcome back!

After Helios argued with Midas, he was given a time-out... by Midas.
"This is unfair! He started it!"
He... really didn't. I don't know what even started it. There was fighting, coffee, and popsicles.
"No one understands me!"
I'm not sure what to say to that.

Once he got home, Helios decided to channel his rage out on spray painting the side of the house.

The house now has a giant eyeball on it. Great. Well, I guess it could be weirder.

Artemis aged up!

She is now an adorable elderly dog. She doesn't get much attention in these chapters, but that's because there are so many sims. Heck, even Electra has been absent for a few chapters, but that's just because she's skilling in the background. Also, she maxed out her life bar a long time ago.

Speaking of Electra skilling, both she and Kronos finally completed their lifetime wishes! Their lifetime wishes would have probably been completed faster if I had done this lifetime wish before, but this was a new experience for me. I really enjoyed it.
Electra: "Can... I be let out of the basement now?"
No.

A day after Midas' bachelor party, it was time for Cecilia and Midas to get married. I was dreading it.
Midas: "Well, I wasn't."

Until death do you part I guess.
Midas: "Oh, it will."
Cecilia: "What?"
Midas: "Nothing."

That was rude, Midas.
"What? She can't complain when everything has been golden so far. I just plan on making sure it stays that way."

After their wedding, Cecilia got to meet the Philosopher's Stone.
Philosopher's Stone, Cecilia. Cecilia, Philosopher's Stone.
"What does it do?"
It turns things into gold, of course.
"Oh! Aww! Midas found an easy way for us to start off our future rich but without having to take his mother's money! That's so sweet of him!"
What... what do you think is going to be turning to gold in this situation?
"The random produce he gave me, of course."
I can't help you. You are too dumb.

"Silly Watcher. Just watch--"
And there she goes.

He is Midas the Gold Digger for a reason. I mean, come on.

Out of respect or curiosity, Midas rushed out to see Cecilia's ghost.
"Oooh, much prettier, Cecilia. I like the gold."
"You know, I should have connected the dots."
You really should have.
"Midas just wanted me to be a golden ghost!"
That's... that's what you got out of this? Are you kidding me?
"I mean she's right, but she's wrong about my reasoning. Toodles, Cecilia. Have fun in the afterlife. Thanks for helping me complete my lifetime wish."
Toodles. Really, Midas? Really?
"Yes."

I feel bad, but Cecilia makes a good lawn decoration so... I guess everything worked out in the end?
I'm a horrible person.

I decided to finally let Kronos out of the basement so he could find a wife. He was my best chance at any of generation six having a stable family which is sad on so many levels.

He ran into Tiffani Langerak-Bachelor, Bella Goth's niece, and was instantly was smitten with her. A friendship potion later and they were best friends.

Tiffani was already dating some guy named Matthew, but Kronos quickly took care of that.
"How about you break up with your boyfriend and move in with me, Tiffani?"
"Why would I do that?"
"You're mean-spirited like me and don't like your boyfriend anyway?"
"How did you figure that out in the five minutes you have known me?"
"Well, you kept insulting me and complaining about your boyfriend. I don't need to be a genius to figure those two things out after you did that."
"Hmph. Fair, I guess."

"I'll move in with you, but just a heads-up, I'm pregnant with my ex-boyfriend's child."
"Wait, WHAT?"
"Too late to back out now."
Kronos then got a wish to fight her ex-boyfriend. No.

Whoops. Even I didn't figure out that Tiffany was pregnant before she officially moved in. I just had assumed the game had given her a random outfit because it always gives sims outfits that don't make sense. Anyways, I gave Tiffany a makeover, and she definitely has townie genes. I am incredibly happy about that fact.
For some reason, I wrote down Tiffany's traits, so here they are: evil, mean-spirited, excitable, animal lover, and light sleeper. I guess they could be worse?

Before Kronos began flirting with Tiffany, the game decided to share Tiffany's amazing reputation with me. Fantastic. It could be worse though. It could be worse.

At least her animal trait came in handy. Tiffany was showering the animals with affection while everyone else was skilling.

Here is a gorgeous painting that Kronos made. I love it so much.

Helios took a break from spray painting to work on his athletics skill with little success.
"The treadmill hates me!"
Me too, Helios. Me too.

Now that Electra has finished her lifetime wish, I finally decided to add an orchard because... that makes sense.
Electra: "It does not."
At least I tried.

I leave you all with this picture of Electra freed from the basement temporarily as a reminder that she is still technically this generation's heiress.
"Yes... I am."
She has also maxed out her lifespan.
"Yes."
It happened a long time ago.
"Yes."
I think my game may be broken.
"Perhaps."

I'll see you guys next time! We are almost at the end of this generation! Have a good day.  ;D

This family is so cute and fun to follow along with. It gets rough trying to balance so much stuff with so many sims in the house. Tiffany is my hero! What an icon! Talk about a chaos queen!

Awww, thanks! It definitely does. I wanted a large generation but I never considered how much work it would be. It's madness. Still, it's been a lot of fun. Tiffany is a wonderful sim. I wish I had had her stay in the household longer.

The Timeless Short Dynasty - Chapter 5.13 - Copycat
« Reply #169 on: July 15, 2021, 06:18:05 PM »
Hello again! I forgot to mention last chapter generation six's kids' gender preferences, so here they are: Morpheus is gay, Midas is straight, Kronos is straight, Erebus is straight, Ares is straight, and Helios is bisexual. Anyways, let's get into the chapter, shall we?

With Midas' and Kronos' lifetime wishes completed, it was time for me to turn my attention to the other generation six spares' lifetime wishes. Erebus was next in line which meant another gold digger. This is getting tedious.
"Hey, hey. It's still a fresh idea."
Not really. Midas did it first.
"Are you calling me a copycat?"
Perhaps.

Poor Raina Hart-Landgraab caught Erebus' eye and was trapped. He threw a friendship potion at her and then invited her to move in which she gladly accepted.
"You know, I feel like you are forgetting some important details here."
Like what?
"I don't know. I just feel like you are rushing over this."
I am not. The readers just know the drill already.
"Bah!"

Here is Raina with a makeover, and I absolutely love her genetics. I know I keep saying that about sims, but SP really did well with this town.

Erebus wasted no time in showing Raina how he felt about her, or at least how he pretended to feel about her.
"Hey! I like her for her besides the fact she's rich!"
Really? What do you like about her?
"Uh....she's hot?"
Really, Erebus? Really?
"Yes."
Ugh.

For some very dumb reason, Raina returned Erebus' affections signing her own death warrant.

Just like Cecilia and Midas, Erebus and Raina took a romantic picture together.
"Oh come on! This is just something that couples just do!"
Alright, alright. Fair enough.

"Hey Raina...when is it socially acceptable for me to ask you to marry me?"
"What?"
"Nothing."
Erebus, it will take at least a solid hour until you can ask her to marry you and you need to go steady first.
"Ugh. Fine."

"Raina...will you be my girlfriend or something?"
"Now that is a much more socially acceptable question to ask me!"
"We have known each other for thirty minutes...I guess that makes sense."
It doesn't, but it's the sims.
"Don't break the fourth wall, Watcher."

Thirty minutes later and Erebus was ready to propose:
"Raina err...I forgot your last name, will you marry me?"

"Lol, no."
"Wait, what?"
Yeah, wait, what?
Game: Raina has the insane trait.
You know, that makes a lot of sense.

Raina then dip kissed him after rejecting his proposal, so I guess everything is okay?
"Okay!? I need to marry her to finish my lifetime wish!"
I know, I know. She's just growing on me.
Electra also decided to waddle over and remind everyone that she was alive. We know, Electra.
"Do you...though? Do you?"

After repairing their relationship, I forced had Raina willingly propose to Erebus.
"Erebus, will you be my wedded husband?"
"I...omg, omg, omg. I don't know. This is such a surprise. What if it doesn't work out? What if--"
JUST SAY YES ALREADY.

"Oh, fine. Yes! This will help me get my lifetime wish done!"
Why is no one in this family discreet?

Erebus rolled a wish to host a bachelor party, and I rejected it. He was going to marry Raina ASAP whether he liked it or not, darn it. It was time.
"You have favorites! Midas is your favorite!"
Midas was the first one with the Gold Digger lifetime wish. That's why.
"Fine."

Derpy faces from both the bride and groom who got married on the lawn because I'm lazy.

I wish Raina could stick around for a while. She's crazy, and I get a feeling she and Tiffany would be best friends.
"Watcher, I'm still getting married!"
Yeah, yeah, Erebus.

You may kiss your bride...or more accurately, the poor woman you suckered into getting married to you.
"Hey!"
The truth hurts.

Raina got to meet the Philosopher's Stone after her wedding, just like Cecilia. It's terrible how this is becoming a tradition for this family.

While Raina was working on getting turned into gold, Erebus was...playing the guitar? With Kronos?
"Yeah. We are talking about our lady troubles."
You two are in VERY different boats when it comes to your 'lady troubles,' Erebus.
"Yeah, Tiffany is just pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's child, Erebus. You are trying to turn your wife into gold."
"It worked for Midas, and no one judged!"
"Midas is insane. You are not."
"Everyone is a critic."

The inevitable finally happened, and Raina joined Cecilia in the super special club "I got turned into gold by one of the Timeless boys to help accomplish their lifetime wish."
What a club to be in.

Upon seeing Raina's ghost, Erebus decided to run away.
"I can't be charged with the crime if I wasn't here."
That's...that's not how this works.

Raina decided to beg for her life:
"I didn't realize he was going to turn me into gold!"
Grim: "Really? The lifelike golden statue in the front yard wasn't a hint at all? Don't you know the rumors about this family?"
"I knew they were weird and rich, but I didn't realize they were this weird!"
"Not a good enough argument. You're going to have to have a talk with Mrs.Hera in the underworld, Raina."
"Who's that?"
"I give up."

Everyone dealt with Raina's death in different ways. Erebus went on the run, Tiffany laughed...

...and Midas actually seemed sad.
"What? No. I'm sad because Tiffany is going to marry Kronos. Why can't she stay? She's absolutely nuts."
She's not insane; she's evil.
"So? She could do better."
I'm not having this conversation.

Raina's statue joined Cecilia's statue in the front yard, and now the front yard reminds me of something from Greek Mythology. It gives me Medusa vibes.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I have been sitting on it for several weeks writing it on and off due to life and lack of motivation. There are only two chapters left of this generation, after which I'll be updating the score count, family tree, etc. Have a good day!

I'm loving the creepy front yard. Very Medusa if she was Rich. Poor Raina, she deserved better, but at least she gets to be immortalized in statue form?

Ooh, I'll have to use the name Medusa in this dynasty now. You are right! Also, yeah, Raina did deserve better. I felt horrible but I thought it would be hilariously ironic if I took the lifetime wish Gold Digger seriously. Now I just feel bad.

The Timeless Short Dynasty - Chapter 5.14 - Who Says Romance Is Dead?
« Reply #172 on: August 30, 2021, 07:04:43 PM »
The Timeless family is back everybody! I hadn't planned to take a two-month break, but, you know, life is life for better or worse. Thank you all for over 20,000 views! That's insane! I really appreciate the support.

We start this chapter off with Morpheus completing his lifetime wish! Madness I tell you. Madness. I can't believe he actually did it.

Helios also maxed the street art skill which is...good. He didn't complete a difficult lifetime wish that had me tearing my hair out like Morpheus did, but he did max a skill!
"NO ONE LOVES ME IN THIS FAMILY."
Not true!
"Yes, it is! No one APPRECIATES me, Watcher. NO ONE."
Sighs

Anyways, Erebus was busy mourning the death of his dearly loved wife--
EREBUS?
"Not right now, Watcher. I'm making out with an old flame from high school."
Isn't this wildly inappropriate?
"Inappropriate isn't one of my traits, but very funny. Now, shoo!"

Fine, but at least get her pregnant!
"No promises...WAIT, WHAT?"

I think I heard chimes!
"Oh wait! NOOOO!"
I'm not sure if anyone remembers her, but the woman Erebus woohooed/tried for baby with was Eileen Langerak-Bachelor. She was Erebus' romantic interest from prom.
I was determined to get her genetics into the family tree and well...plans were made. :-X

Erebus wasn't the only one having a romantic moment. Kronos was showering Tiffany with the love and affection she rightfully deserves.
"Darn right I do. This is the longest I have been in a relationship. Ever."
It's only been a couple of days--
"Did I stutter?"

Ares had...a unique reaction to all the romance going on around him.
"Why isn't the attention on me? Me? I'm the heir!"
You're not being interesting right now. That's why.
"Don't you worry, I'll change that, Watcher. I'll change that real quickly."
Okay...but why are you shoving your arm through a vase right no? Isn't that painful?
"Watcher, I will do anything for attention. You know this. A little vase isn't going to keep me from the spotlight."
Alrighty then...

Of course, things turned sour between Kronos and Tiffany the minute I turned my back on them. Their mean-spirited traits both bring them together and tear them apart.
"Very poetic, Watcher, and boohoo. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE PREGNANT."
Uh...
"My back aches, my feet hurt, and I WADDLE."
Backs away slowly.

Electra, who is still alive and definitely glitched at this point, decided she wanted to become friends with Kronos in her very, very, very, VERY, old age.
"You said old enough..times, Watcher."
You have lived a long time for even short dynasty standards.
"True but I'm not...done yet."
Yeah, yeah.

While Electra was busy befriending Kronos, Midas decided to check on Tiffany and the baby. I ship it. It would be best to avoid a Hestia, Dione, Shark situation though. Midas is too insane to take care of a child anyways.
"You say that now but you will change your mind."
Not likely, Midas.
"You will."

It was time for Morpheus and Midas to age up.
"Wait, what?"
Time for you to age up into an adult, Morpheus.

"Well...this isn't so bad."
It really isn't.

Midas how are you--
"AAAHHHH. AAAHHH. IT BURNS. IT BURNS."
The sparkles?
"THE SPARKLES. "

A midlife crisis. Great.
"I feel the urge to dye my hair, buy a new car, and break up with my dead wife."
Uh...?
"All in that order."
Nope, nope, and nope.

Morpheus and Midas weren't the only ones to age up: Nike did too! She's an adorable elder.

Eileen decided to stick around and harass Erebus after woohooing with him. I almost feel sorry for him. Almost.

Tiffany finally went into labor and well...she handled it as well as you would expect--
"SHUT UP, WATCHER!"
Runs away

John Langerak-Bachelor was born several painful moments later. His traits are uh...I didn't write them down. Let me guess. Let's say...heavy sleeper and ambitious? Sounds good? Sounds good.

You know, between the madness and relationship problems and the constant skilling, sometimes the Timeless family is peaceful.
Sometimes.

Other times they scream in the faces of people they find attractive. Take Helios, for example, a nice boy comes over and he decides the best course of action is to scare the bejesus out of him.

To put it lightly, the boy didn't take it well. Darn. Helios and he would have been cute together too.

Some people deal with midlife crises logically. Others do not. Midas? He fell into the second category but I canceled enough of his wishes that it did not matter.
"MY FREEWILL!"
Freewill is simply a setting that gets in my way, Midas, but it will not win! It will not!
"Fine, then I'm going to sit in this chair and pout."
No, you are not. Go make Erebus' sculpture.
No--

Too late.
"Don't mess my hair up, bro."
"Erebus if you call me bro again then I will turn you into a gold statue."
Aww, sibling bonding.

On that note, I'm going to wrap up this chapter here. The next chapter will be the last chapter of generation five! Woo! Maybe it will come out before the year ends.  :P I also wanted to ask: Is anyone having trouble with the pictures on the first post/chapter list loading? If you are, please let me know so I can try reducing the sizes of the files and troubleshooting them. If not then it's probably my bad internet.  ::)
Have a great day everyone! Bye!

The Timeless Short Dynasty - Chapter 5.15 - It's Time
« Reply #173 on: September 06, 2021, 02:23:38 PM »
Hello and welcome back! This will be the last chapter of generation five. I will be updating the family tree, score count, adding Ares' title picture, etc., before starting generation six. Same as usual.

I decided to send Electra out to collect all the family tombstones that have piled up during the generation. All of the deaths occurred before my game stopped letting people die in my short dynasty... yeah that's going to be a problem. I'll deal with it in generation six! Anyways, I have had to expand the mausoleum because I was running out of room to put the spares and the spares' kids in there. I decided to create a room off to the side in the basement for the spares' kids specifically.

Congratulations, Electra. It appears by my now broken game's standards you are now officially immortal.
"Yay!"
Which means we will have to move once it is a safe time to do so. This is a short dynasty, not an immortal one.
"Oh."

In theory, I could keep playing in Sunset Valley with the buggy aging and just have Electra keep earning points but.... that feels cheaty to me. Contrary to what I may say in these chapters I would love for Electra to live forever, but it would go against the point of the dynasty.

It's time for the moment that everyone has been waiting for: the moment where Helios ages up and uh...Ares does too I guess.
Ares: "I'M THE HEIR!"
That's just a fancy title, Ares. Just a fancy title.
Helios: "Hah. Step aside, Ares. I'm getting the attention I finally deserve!"

Helios not only glammed up but aged up with the gatherer trait to add to athletic, light sleeper, evil, and avante garde. His lifetime wish is Street Credible.

Last but not least, Ares aged up.
"I'll never forgive you for putting me last."
Yeah, yeah, just age up already.

"SURPRISE, WATCHER."
You didn't.
"Oh, I did. I did! My revenge. MY sweet, sweet, revenge."
I am SO TIRED OF THIS.

This stupid, arrogant, heir's traits are athletic, insane (clearly), neurotic, loves the cold, and diva. He's always been a diva, but now he officially has the trait.

His lifetime wish? His foolish, stupid, idiotic lifetime wish? Gold Digger. It was the first one to pop up as if he was laughing at me.
"I am. Oh, I am."

Ares is going to be supermaxing alchemy because it's easy, and he's gotten on my last nerve.
"Your last nerve? This is what breaks you?"
There are only so many times you can do a lifetime wish in a short amount of time.
"Well, maybe you should have waited until I aged up. Also, isn't this where my mom's generation should end? I aged up. I'm the official torch holder now."
I want to tie up some loose ends. Hold your horses.
"No one cares about me! No one!"

I redesigned the alchemy room for you in your favorite color green.
"I'm the heir! This is to be expected."

Oh shush up and go make potions.
"You can't make me. I--"
Yes, I can. I'm leaving now. You are too whiny.

Speaking of leaving, it was time some of the kids moved out... starting with Erebus. Morpheus didn't take it well.
"No, no, I'm just scared of Tiffany... she's behind me, isn't she?"
Yup.
Tiffany: "I'll give you a ten second start before I run after you."
"Yess ma'am!"

Right as Tiffany was getting ready to chase down Morpheus, Kronos ambushed her with a kiss.

Thankfully she was receptive to it or he would have died.

It was time for the two of them to make their relationship official.
Tiffany: "Wait, I've been living in his house this entire time, and I haven't even been in a relationship with him?"
Yup.
"Hahaha, sucker."

Now, get engaged. Chop, chop.
Tiffany: "Wait, what?"
Kronos: "The Watcher told me that you're pregnant with my child, and I have to propose."
"WAIT, WHAT?"
I mean, he doesn't have to propose because you're pregnant. You two don't need to be married at all, I just thought it would be nice--
"SHUT UP!"

"Well, do you want to marry me or not, Tiffany?"
"Do I get part of your money?"
"The part of the money I get when the Watcher kicks me out, yes."
"Then yes and I'll divorce you for half of it in a few days."

"So that's a yes?"
"Yes. Yep. I'll marry you."
One of these days I'm going to write a wholesome, sane couple... wait I already did that with Electra and Sam. It just seems like I won't be doing the same anytime soon.

The wonderful disaster of a couple decided to exchange vows in the nursery and Electra stumbled in and started sobbing.

A great sign to be sure.
"He's...moving out!" (wails)
You two barely talk anyway!
"We became best...friends last chapter!"
Oh right. The friendship potion. Oh well.

Even though their marriage is bound to end in disaster, Kronos and Tiffany seem pretty happy about it.

After the two of them got married, they moved out little John. In the back of this picture, you can see Tiffany taking the chance to scare Midas(?) for the last time before they do so.

That's the last chapter of this generation, guys! Woo, it was sure a crazy one. I mean, to be fair, they have all been quite crazy, but this one takes the cake. Next time Ares will be taking over and a new generation will begin. As mentioned in the beginning, I will be updating the family tree, score count, adding Ares' title picture, etc., before generation six officially begins. I'll see you all then. Bye! :)

The Timeless Short Dynasty - Chapter 6.1 - Ugh, It's Ares
« Reply #176 on: April 16, 2022, 11:27:33 AM »
Alright, well... it's been a while, hasn't it? I could ramble about how, or why, or what the heck happened that made me take a break, but that's no fun and the reasons why I was away are also not fun. So, let's talk about the Timeless family instead and jump into generation six properly!

Here's a recap of what you might have forgotten during my desertion unplanned break: Ares and Helios aged up, Kronos and Tiffany got married, and Electra won't die. Also, some of you may have seen the updated score count, including generation five's points... I triple-checked and I swear, that's the right amount of points. I have no idea how I did it, all I know is that I went a little crazy. It probably also helps that I had a complex strategy for how I approached generation five that I can make a post about in the future if anyone is interested, but I never expected to get 92 points. :o It just happened. I definitely think that the fact Electra had so many children played a huge part in me being able to get so many points, but managing that amount of sims during a short dynasty is exhausting and not something I could do every generation. It also helped that Ares was not the firstborn or generation five would have been much shorter and I wouldn't have been able to get as many points.

All of that aside, the family tree is updated to the point that generation seven is a toddler, so spoilers. Look at it at your own risk. Oh, and I have decided that from now on I will label all dialogue with the name of the speaker in front of it except mine for better readability. Hope that helps!  :)

One last thing to note: this chapter has more combined pictures than usual because if I didn't combine them, then I would have broken the picture limit. Fingers-crossed it's not super noticeable!

Okay, I think I have officially covered everything I need to before jumping into this generation properly. Let's get started!

Ares has some... interesting traits to say the least, and of course, of course , his lifetime wish had to be Gold Digger. Of course it did. All of the other options were lifetime wishes that were difficult to accomplish, and so Ares got me stuck between a rock and a hard place. He just haaadddd to have the same lifetime wish that Midas and Erebus did.

For Ares' generational picture, I decided to have him pose with a cockroach because that's his spirit animal.
He really annoyed me this generation (in the best way, but STILL).

The first thing that Ares did as the official heir was call the travel agency so that the whole family could travel to China. Since my game is experiencing an aging bug which has accidentally made Electra immortal, the Timeless family will have to move shortly after they finish their vacation. Once they move, I have decided that, in the spirit of fairness, they will never take another vacation again.
Ares: "Wait, WHAT?"
Most traveling breaks by the point of generation six and continuing to take vacations into later generations gives me an unfair advantage. The fact that I have already moved the Timeless family so many times due to bugs that had a potential to break the game is unfair enough, I don't need to add an unfair traveling advantage to it—
Ares: "This isn't fair! That all sounds like your mistakes, not ours!"
I'm your Watcher. My mistakes are kind of your mistakes.
Ares: "Can we get a new Watcher then?"
No.

Ah, China, the.... what just happened?
Ares: "You will listen to me, Watcher! YOU WILL!"
Midas: "You need to reset Ares and Helios, Watcher. Also, I'm craving popsicles."
Give me a second—
Midas: "I want a popsicle. You abandoned us for over five months, Watcher. I deserve a popsicle. I know you have an orange-cream popsicle in your refrigerator."
Alright, you all need to stop being weird and START SKILLING!

Midas worked on maxing the science skill because I have plans for generation seven. So many plans.
Midas: "Blah, bah. They already know that you played ahead. Now, where's my popsicle?"
Shush!

Ares focused on his alchemy skill because I still have plans on him supermaxing it.
Ares: "That's because you don't love me."
No, it's because it's easy and it requires me to spend the least amount of time babysitting you.
Ares: "Exactly!"

Morpheus was off being adorable because I love him and wait—shouldn't you be skilling, Morpheus?
Morpheus: "I should be, but look at how cute I am."
Fair enough. Continue.

Helios, on the other hand, was busy screaming at the sky and critiquing ancient statues.
Whatever floats his boat, I guess.

While Midas worked on maxing his science skill, I got this message.
Midas: "A baby!"
NO.
Midas: "Then you better take it out of my inventory or I'm planting it."
Fine, fine. I'll put it in Morpheus' inventory.
Midas: "Good luck with that."

I feel bad for Morpheus because for most of his life, all he has been doing is skilling. Poor guy has never complained either, but he has rolled wishes to go on dates every now and then. He hasn't had any luck in his love life because I have made him skill so much, so it was finally time to find somebody that he may be able to date. After using some NRAAS mods to look for a suitable partner for Morpheus... there isn't a single male gay sim to be found in Sunset Valley or China. Not. A. Single. One.

It was at this point that I decided to take matters into my own hands. I first tweaked my game settings, so that there will be more diversity in the future when it comes to sims' sexual orientations, and I put down a sim from my bin down into China that I thought Morpheus would get along with. I had to do it and I have no regrets.

His name was Shen and the moment that Morpheus saw him, they instantly had hearts. Look at these two! They are adorable together. They are going to be the cutest—

The game made him straight.
WHY, GAME. WHY?

It then put Shen in a relationship to rub more salt in the wound. Ouch.
I may have used some not so family-friendly language at this point.

To say that Morpheus and I were bummed out about what happened with Shen was an understatement.
Morpheus: "That is definitely an understatement."
I felt so bad for Morpheus that I gave him the rest of the day off from skilling and he ran into...
Morpheus: "Lucas Bunch-Wainwright. Who is very much married to a woman."
Wait, who is he married to?
Morpheus: "Blair."
Oh hey, there was a townie named Blair Wainwright. She's long dead now...
Morpheus: "Nope. It's her. She's still alive."
HOW?
Morpheus: "I don't know. Ask Midas."
No thanks....

...but it must be because of how buggy Sunset Valley is, though, right? That would make sense.
Morpheus: "I don't know. You're the Watcher."
Bah. Fair enough.
Anyway, I ended up sending Morpheus home to go back to skilling as I turned my attention back to the other Timeless family members.

Ares, for example. After dragging my feet for far too long and moaning and groaning about Ares' lifetime wish, it was time to get it out of the way. So I decided to send him to meet random women and BAM! He met a woman! Just like that.
Ares: "You know, Watcher, I'm really excited that you're finally giving me the attention I deserve. Now that I have met one person who could be my potential wife, we can say that the search for my wife has officially begun! So, who else are you going to send me out to meet?"
No one. That woman is going to be your wife.
Ares: "...So you have done a lot of research on her to make sure she's the perfect match for me because I'm your heir."
Nope. I don't even know her name, but she's going to be your wife. Your first wife at least, anyway.
Ares: "Excuse me?"
I want to finish your lifetime wish before you consider kids and since that requires a dead wife...
Ares: "Okay, okay. I might be crazy, but I see where this is heading. FINE."
That's the spirit!

Ares: "So, what do I do next?"
Woo her, I guess.
Ares: "You mean throw a friendship potion at her?"
Wait, no.
Ares: "What do you mean, no?"
You know what? On second thought, it's close enough.

Ares asked her to move in, and the first thing she did was take a nap in one of the rocking chairs while Helios laughed maniacally above her.
Sometimes I forget how weird this family is.

In need of some wholesomeness, I sent Morpheus out into the great unknown to see Lucas again.
Morpheus: "So... what do you think about the weather?"
Lucas: "The weather?"
Morpheus: "Yeah... it's not as cold as I like. I wish it was colder..."
Lucas: "Do I know you from somewhere?"
Morpheus: "We talked yesterday for hours, remember?"
Lucas: "Oh, yeah. You were the guy who kept mumbling about escaping from his Watcher and tabcasts yesterday."
Morpheus: "Right. Uh... hey Watcher?"
Yeah?
Morpheus: "How do I befriend somebody without throwing a potion at them?"
Uh, let me see. Well, usually I just get adopted by a really friendly person who then introduces to me other friendly people, but maybe you could just ask about his interests and see where that goes?
Morpheus: "Too late. I'm running away."
Wait, no, that's not how you make friends!
Morpheus: "Sorry, but I can't hear you over the sound of me running away from my problems."
Sighs.

Back with Ares, he was actually at successfully wooing his future wife! Wait, what's her name, anyway?
Ares: "Her name is Ping Wang. She had a boyfriend two minutes ago that I convinced her to break up with."
You were productive while the spotlight was not on you? All on your own? I'm so proud of you!
Ares: "Watcher, I hate you."
And here I was, giving you a compliment. Now I'm going to take it back.
Ares: "Wait, I need the validation! Don't do that!"
Too late. No compliment for you.
Ares: "Fine. Then I'll mess this relationship up before it has truly started."
Okay, you know what? You can have the compliment back. I am NOT redoing this lifetime wish again.
Ares: "Hah!"

Now you might be thinking to yourself, dear reader, is that Electra in the background being nosey as Ping and Ares finally go steady?
Yes.
Yes, it is.
Also, it turns out that Ping used to be Shen's (the guy I created for Morpheus) girlfriend. Small world, right?

Ares: "So what do you think, Ping? You, me, marriage?"
Ping: "With your mother lurking in the background? How could I say no? Of course!"
Electra: "I'm getting old. I want... to see Ares get married to his first wife... at least."
That's oddly dark for you, Electra.
Electra: "It's the truth."
Ares: "Alright, Ping. Shiny ring for you, lifetime wish completed for me. Here you go!"
Ping: "Agreeing to marry you doesn't seem like a terrible decision at all! It's not like I just met you today, or that I keep getting referred to as your 'first wife.'"
Ares: "Glad to see we are on the same page!"

Alright, time to get married, you two.
Ares: "Whatever gets my lifetime wish completed."
That's... oddly agreeable of you, Ares. Who are you and what have you done to the sim I know?
Ares: "I want to get this over with so the attention can go back to being all on me. Now, can I get married or what?"
That's more like it. I guess.

It was a beautiful ceremony. Ping and Ares exchanged rings. I didn't let Electra stop skilling to watch because that was a waste of skilling time...

...and Midas even escaped left the room where he was working on his science skill in order to show the future couple the random DNA sample he was holding ominously. It wasn't planned and I wouldn't have allowed it if I was properly babysitting him, but yep, that's a thing that happened. All in all, a great wedding. Definitely a ten out of ten.

That's it for this chapter, you guys. I'm sorry for taking such a long break from this story. I can't promise it won't happen again as life tends to like to throw a curveball or two, but I have every intention of finishing this short dynasty and hope this longer chapter helped to fill in the gaps left by my break. Anyway, I'll see you all in the next chapter! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. Bye!  :)

  • The Labelles shall overtake!
Welcome back, everyone! I, for one, am surprised that this chapter wasn’t released several months after the last one!
Too soon?
How about we just jump right into the Timeless family’s shenanigans then, shall we?

After Ares and Ping got married, the Timeless family returned from China. Helios had collected a few more vases to add to the Timeless family’s collection, so I displayed the collection finally.
You know, sometimes I think I’m finally getting bored of this game and then I see little things like this. It’s like no matter how hard I try, the Sims 3 always pulls me back in.

Anyway, I gave Ping a makeover because even though she likely won’t be around for long, it’s a crime in the Timeless family to wear aesthetically displeasing clothes. Unless you’re Ares, then your clothes are just... strange.

Ares and Ping took a romantic picture together like Midas and Erebus had done with their significant others before they had been turned into golden statues.
Ping: “They had what now?”
Ares and Ping took a romantic picture together like Midas and Erebus had done with their significant others before--
Ares: “IGNORE HER.”

Ares: “You know... you should totally try out this Philosopher’s Stone, Ping. It can turn anything into gold.”
Ping: “Oh really?”
Ares: “Yep... just go through the gate. While you do that, I’ll just be tending the bees in my swimwear like normal, sane people do.”
Ping: “Sounds legit.”

So it begins. Ping was stuck turning things into gold, and Ares was being... Ares.
Sighs.

Nike and Artemis were eating out of their food dishes, and I noticed that Artemis now lays down while eating. I guess it’s because she’s elderly. That’s a nice touch by EA, but it hurts my soul.

You know how the Timeless family had gone to China, and there was a certain Sunset Valley townie that Morpheus showed an interest in? Well, I checked, and Lucas Bunch-Wainwright was back in town, so I had Morpheus and him meet up together.
What does Lucas do the moment he sees Morpheus?
HE STARTS FLIRTING WITH HIM.
Morpheus: “He remembers who I am this time! Time to run--“
NO.

Anyhow, I was excited, Morpheus was excited. I had Morpheus convince Lucas to break up with his wife that should have died a long time ago, and he agreed!

Things were going so well until...
Lucas: “Nope.”
What?
Morpheus: “What?”

It turns out that Morpheus and Lucas didn’t know each other well enough... even though Morpheus had just convinced him to get a divorce. :o
Okay game, okay.

A couple of interactions later, and we were back in business!
First kiss done? Check.

Going steady? Check.

Marriage proposal? Check--

Morpheus: “Wait, what? Didn’t Lucas just get a divorce? Aren’t we moving a little too quickly?”
It’s a short dynasty. There’s no time to lose. If he says yes, then he says yes. If he says no, then he says no.
Lucas: “And I am going to say yes.”

Morpheus: “Okay, let’s get engaged then!”

Now that Morpheus and Lucas were engaged, I gave Lucas a makeover. He has a baby face, but I love him nevertheless.

Alright, so, first kiss, going steady, engagement... what am I missing?
Morpheus: “Marriage.”
Right, marriage. Time to get married, you two!
Morpheus: “Wait, how did we get these rings?”
I don’t know, just enjoy the moment and worry about that later.

Look at these two dorks. I’m so, so happy that Morpheus was able to find somebody. For a while there, I wasn’t sure that he was going to be able to.
Morpheus: “Oh, hey. That’s not very nice.”
It’s okay to be single. I was just worried that you didn’t have any other option in case you did want to find somebody.
Morpheus: “Oh, huh. That’s oddly... considerate of you.”
Also, I need to kick you out of the house and would like to tie up any loose ends regarding you.
Morpheus: “There’s the real reason.”

What can I say except you’re welcome?
Morpheus: “Please don’t burst out singing during my wedding.”
Fine.

With these two now officially married, Lucas moved in temporarily. I wanted to sort his inventory to prevent future lag, move him and Morpheus into a better house...

...and have him break up with his love interest. I can’t really blame Lucas for having a love interest as NRAAS usually has sims move on pretty quickly whenever their relationship statuses change. In Lucas’ case, it just paired him with the first sim it found. Their relationship was in the red, so I have a feeling that Lucas wasn’t too broken up about ending it.

Lucas: “Hey... we have had good times together, but now that I’m married again--“

Random love interest: “No thanks. I’m going to head out before this conversation gets anymore awkward. Bye.”
Lucas: “Are you... dying to avoid an awkward conversation?”
Random love interest: “I can’t hear you over the sound of the Grim Reaper.”

Well, that was hilarious. It also showed that whatever aging bug was affecting the town hadn’t progressed to the point that all of the townies had completely stopped dying! I’ll still have to move the Timeless family to a new town, but I should be able to buy a little more time now that this revelation has come to light.

Morpheus and Lucas moved out of the house shortly after that, while Morpheus made a special request to the realtor:
“I need a house... tabcast free, please.”

I’m going to miss Morpheus, but having an emptier house doesn’t hurt.

While Morpheus and Lucas were moving out, the rest of the family was attending Ares’s and Helios’s graduation.

Ares got this lovely reward from his classmates, and Helios got nothing.
Ares: “They are wrong, of course.”
No, no. They are quite right and I find it hilarious.
Ares: “WATCHER--“

That’s the end of the chapter, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed it. Have a great Saturday!

The Timeless Short Dynasty - A Little Note
« Reply #178 on: May 12, 2022, 09:18:47 PM »
Hey everyone,

This is not a note about anything crazy, but I have decided to edit some of the generational title pictures to make them easier to read. Some of them have been annoying me FOREVER. I also have some plans of editing the pictures that include each generation's heir/heiress's traits to make them more readable too (though that will be done after I do the generational title pictures).

The pictures I plan on redoing are:

- Generation one's generational title picture (done)
- Generation one's trait picture (done)
- Generation four's generational title picture (done)
- Generation five's generational title picture (done)
- Generation five's trait picture (done)
- Generation six's trait picture (done)

Now, if you feel like more or less pictures should be added to this list, please let me know! I have been editing the first picture for the last two hours so I may not be the best source on this right now (I could just wait to post this, but of course I won't  ::)). If the pictures, after being edited, are still not easy to read, please also let me know that.  I'm trying to keep the general  feel of the original ones in place, but if needed, I am open to completing redoing them.

The fact that I am editing the pictures shouldn't effect my ability to get chapters up whatsoever (I am incredibly busy right now in real life so delays are due to that).

Anyway, here's a comparison photo of generation one's original generation title picture and the edited version:

(Original)

(Edited)

There are only slight changes that are noticeable to the visible eye in the edited version, but I hope it makes it easier to read.

Alright, that's all folks! Feel free to let me know your opinions about it and we should be back to chapter updates shortly.

Thanks,
Mpart

The Timeless Short Dynasty - Chapter 6.3 - Not All That Glitters Is Gold
« Reply #179 on: May 14, 2022, 11:17:25 PM »
Hello there! Another day, another Timeless chapter.

Do you guys remember how, in the last chapter, Ares introduced Ping to the Philosopher’s Stone? It turns out that all that glitters is not gold, but Ping now is.
Alright I’ll leave now.

Ping greeted the Grim Reaper with grace, however, he had a few words to say to her before she was allowed to jump into her grave:
Grim: “Did the golden statues on the front lawn not give you any hint that there’s something seriously wrong with this family?”
Ping: “Not really. I just thought they had a thing for weird statues, you know?”
Grim: “Riiighht. You sims are ridiculous. Alright, into the grave you go.”
Ping: “Fine by me. I lived a good, long life.”
Grim: “You really didn’t, but okay. I’m sure Hera will be happy to hear you had a positive attitude.”

You know, the more golden statues the Timeless family collects, the more concerned I am about how weird it is. On one hand, it reminds me of Medusa and Greek mythology in general, so I’m all for it. On the other hand, it’s disturbing and makes me question what the heck I was thinking by keeping them.
It just seems deranged, you know? I know the Timeless family is insane, but STILL.

With Ping now out of the running, Electra realized that her chances of getting grandbabies any time soon had gone down dramatically.
She decided to take matters into her own hands and cornered a local townie, Melissa Morris-Keaton.

Electra: “I NEED GRANDBABIES!”
Melissa: “Wait, no, you’re part of that weird family—“

Electra: “Yes... and now we are... best friends.”
Melissa: “Ugh. UGH. Fair enough. What do you want from me?”
Electra: “Move in with my... family, have a couple... of kids with my son, complete your lifetime... wish, and live an arguably... fulfilling life.”
Melissa: “Am I going to get turned into a gold statue if I move in with your weird family?”
Electra: “No... the Watcher needs... points.”
Melissa: “Ugh. Fine. I’m not going to marry your son though, got it? I'll have a few kids and then if I want to date, I’ll date somebody else.”
Electra: “Fine by me. Want a... hug?”
Melissa: “Sure.”

Melissa moved in and was promptly given a makeover, frowning the entire time during it. Grumpypants Melissa’s traits are good, excitable (it should clearly be grumpy instead), proper, mooch, and friendly. Her lifetime wish is... Reach Max Influence with All Social Groups.
In my notes, I put “internal screaming” next to that as I had never completed that lifetime wish before, and so I wasn’t sure how to strategize to complete it efficiently.
Yeah, the internal screaming sounds about right.

Now, you are probably curious why Ping wasn't chosen to bring in generation seven, and I chose Melissa instead to be the one to do so. Honestly, it simply has to do with Ares’ lifetime wish. I wanted to get his lifetime wish completed as quickly as possible and whoever had his children would be earning points for the dynasty too, and killing them off prematurely would mean a significant loss of points. I could have waited until Ares and his partner were both elders, but if Ares died before his lifetime wish was able to be completed (aka he dies before his partner) then I wouldn’t have been able to get that point and any lifetime points that came along with it. It’s a cold way of thinking about it and I do feel horrible for the strategy I used, buutttt this is a short dynasty. There isn’t much room for error given the small time frame of the sims’ lives.

Melissa didn’t bother introducing herself to Ares before she threw a friendship potion at him (provided by Electra, of course).
Ares: “Wait, who are you??”
Melissa: “The future mother of your children. Now, let’s get this over with.”

Ares: “Do what—“

Ares: “You can’t go kissing random people that don’t know you! What’s wrong with you?”
Melissa: “Wait, your mother and Watcher said this would work.”
Are: “MY MOTHER AND—“
Huh, that’s odd. Just throw another potion at him, Melissa.

Melissa: “Got it.”
Ares: “Wait, you can’t do this to me! I do this, not other people! I throw random potions at people! That's my thing! MY THING!”
Melissa: “Yes, your majesty. Alright, we have a maxed relationship now. This should work for sure now, right, Watcher?”
Yep.

Ares: "What—“

Ares: “No! I’m overriding the game’s settings! You can’t just kiss me! I’m the one who—“
Melissa: “Uh, Watcher, what is going on?”
I have no idea. You’re both at max relationship and flirty. Either Ares broke my game or I’m overlooking something. Just throw another friendship potion and try kissing him again, I guess?
Melissa: “Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to work, but whatever.”

Melissa: “Here we go again...”

..As expected, it didn’t work. I scrolled through the forums as they did another heat of the moment kiss and then realized, “oh hey, Ares has the neurotic trait, right?”
For some reason, neurotic sims don’t accept heat of the moment kisses. They will always respond negatively to them no matter how high the relationship with the other sim in question is. I didn’t realize this until I had had Melissa do the interaction far too many times, thinking that maybe my mod settings were interfering with it.
I felt TERRIBLE after that and it was clear that poor, neurotic Ares had been getting bombarded with kisses he didn't want, and I was the fool for not realizing it sooner.
Poor guy.

After giving Melissa and Ares both time to cool off (and letting Ares have some free time because I felt bad) I had Ares initiate the heat of the moment kiss instead of Melissa to see if he was more comfortable with that.

Thankfully, he was.
Melissa: “No hard feelings?”
Ares: “Nah. That was my Watcher’s oversight, not yours. Plus, I got to feed the bees in my free time. The bees!”

Melissa: “So, the Watcher did tell you about the plan during your free time, right?”
Ares: “Yep. You are to be the mother of my children and I am not allowed to turn you into a golden statue, accuse you of being a diva, or place any suspicious jelly bean bushes near you.”
Melissa: “Fantastic. We’ll get along just fine, then.”
Ares: “Mmm-hmm. As long as the attention stays on me, that is.”
Melissa: “We’ll see.”

A couple of make-out sessions later, and Melissa and Ares tried for a baby. There were chimes! Fingers crossed that the next heir or heiress is on the way.

Melissa: “Don’t say a word.”
Ares: “I’m not saying a word. I’m just smiling.”
Melissa: “Well stop that.”

As is tradition, Melissa was locked in a room to listen to kids music and watch kids television whenever possible to increase the chances of having multiple children. I let her start working on her street art skill, even though inhaling chemical fumes while she was pregnant probably wasn’t the wisest.
Melissa: “You’re not the boss of me. Go away.”
Okay, okay... I’ll just go obsess about points or something. Hmph.

After being shooed away by Melissa, my camera panned suddenly to the kitchen where Artemis was.
No game, nooo!

Grim: “Come on, little doggo. Let’s get you away from these crazies.”
Midas: “Hera would not like to hear that you said that.”
Grim: “I... of course, sir. I would never want to do anything to upset Lady Hera.”
Midas: “Good.”

Artemis was a great dog. She didn’t get much of the spotlight because the Timeless family is chaotic, but she was very loved. I’m going to miss her.  :'(

Grim: “You’re next, Electra Timeless. Once your Watcher finally moves your family to a town that isn’t glitched, that is.”
Wow, wow. Now the pressure from you too, Grim?
Grim: “It’s a short dynasty, and you’re ignoring the point of it.”
WOW.

Okay, I’m going to end this chapter here. In chapter 6.5, the Timeless family will move, I pinky promise. I’m just tying up a few things in the meantime. I hope you all have a great day! Thanks for reading. :)
