Goal
A redux from a couple of years ago, and a nice simple challenge idea from LenaLJ — just try and get as many followers as you can plus advance as far as possible in the Social Media career. This time around we are also incorporating the 5-tier celebrity status from Get Famous.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules

• This challenge requires the City Living and Get Famous expansion packs.
• Create one Young Adult Sim. Alien or Human.
• Your Human/Alien Sim cannot be converted to a Vampire.
• No household additions after leaving CAS, but CAS pets are allowed.
• You are allowed to use the Buydebug cheat to purchase a satellite to prevent abductions.
• The Connections reward is banned.
• The Career Hopper Fame perk is banned.
• It's player choice for which branch of the Social Media career to pursue.
• The "Live Stream" and "Stream Let's Play..." interaction (at career level [8]) in the Games section is banned.
• This challenge concludes at Week 3, Day 1, 8 AM.

Scoring
Followers/10000. When the challenge concludes (Week 3, Day 1, 8 AM), go to a computer one last time and check your Total Followers in the Social Media section and divide the number by 10000. The reason we're asking you to do this is it's possible to get followers in the millions and for the purposes of the leaderboard, we want smaller, manageable numbers. You don't really need a calculator for this -- just drop the last 4 numbers of your follower total. So, if you have 34,943,123 followers, then your score is 3494.

Career/Celeb Level. This is a multiplier -- everyone starts with 1.00 and for every Social Media career and Celebrity level you obtain by when challenge concludes, add 10% (.10) to the multiplier.

Total. Just multiply your Followers by the Career/Celeb Level multiplier for your final score.

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, sdhoey, LenaLJ, and MarianT) for clarifications. Oooohh, I LOVE the Social Media career and I've had a few Sims in that career too so it will fun to do it in a challenge.  I don't have much experience with Get Famous though, I only just got around to installing that expansion, I guess I'll have to play with a bit then.

But ... I just want to play with my Vampire though .... oh and the Human/Alien too I guess, for the current challenge.

Fame level = 2 stars

So, that's:
689 X 1.80 = 1240 total

Wow @coolsim9999999 how do you manage to do these so quickly?! It seems to take me forever, although I admit I don't always start right away. I think I might struggle in this challenge, I love the Social Media career but gaining fame is such a pain and I must admit I've been struggling with that, it doesn't help that I really haven't played with the Get Famous expansion until recently.

Okay, Marian and Shannon corrected me. The "Live Stream" and "Stream Let's Play..." actions ARE the same thing. It's just that the name changes once you hit career lvl 8. So, both actions are banned. If anyone was confused by this and did "live stream", no worries...you get a free do-over. Sorry about this.

I just practice before each challenge goes live, so, then, I know my strategy. @Rainbow Dash .

It's been so long since I've completed a tournament challenge. This was really fun

22,473,648 followers/ 10,000 = 2,247

Career 6 Celebrity 5 = multiplier 2.1

Score = 4,718

199 x 2.0 = 398.

My Sim had 676,033 followers for 67. She was at the 6th level of her career and a 3-star celebrity for a multiplier of 1.9. Total was 127.

My sim had 634, 368 followers and she was level 7 in her career and a 3 star celebrity.  63 x 2=126.  I really enjoyed this challenge, completing it in one sitting.

I had a lot of fun playing this challenge.  I've had Get Famous for a while but never really explored the celebrity levels.

Career 7 Celebrity 4 = multiplier 2.1

Score = 3639
