Hi! I aged up to be a goofball, and I'm trying to become a rambunctious scamp.

Soon after I had my birthday, we had a big scare. Mom set herself on fire when she was trying to light the fireplace, and the Grim Reaper came.

But Dad begged the Grim Reaper to spare Mom's life...

...and he did! So she's fine now.

But I can't help wondering what would happen if the Grim Reaper caught fire. Would anyone plead for him?

You'd think we would have had enough trouble with fire, but that evening Tina Tinker came over and tried to cook something. I'm the one who called the Fire Department.

We all waited outside while the firemen came and took care of it.

I stayed outside a little while longer to build a snowpal.

Later on I got something to eat and talked to Mom for a bit.

And then I beat her at Don't Wake the Llama.

I worry about Mom sometimes. It's like she doesn't take care of herself now that she has come back from the dead. It was freezing cold outside, and she was sick, but she decided that the side of the pool was the place to sit and knit.

Oh, and my half-sister Nadine is a teen now. She's into arts and books.

As for me, I got a B at school, and I'm at level 5 of my motor skills, so I'm doing pretty well. Oh, and I'm a Griffon Scout, too.

Your households are constantly suffering unexpected catastrophes! And then I remembered that you're only controlling the heirs. Wow.
Raising toddler can not be easy.
And it's a wonder the other household members are still earning promotions and such.
The upcoming heirs are showing lots of personality and promise!

Actually, controlling only the toddler is fairly easy, although I have to switch to a grown-up to pay bills (and deal with fires). I do control everyone in the household on the first day that I play it, so that's how they're able to skill up for promotions.

Happy Birthday to me! But now that I'm not a toddler any more, Daddy and Grandmother want me to try to remember as much as I can about my early childhood. "A good memory is very important," says Daddy. "Sometimes a trial can last several days, and you have to be able to remember everything all the witnesses say." Daddy is a judge. Grandmother is a lawyer, and she thinks a good memory is useful, too. And Granddaddy and Mom both agree, but they say it's okay if I can't remember things in chronological order. So here goes:

Birthdays. Daddy had his birthday just before mine, so that's an easy one. We shared the same cake.

Grandmother had her birthday on Spooky Day.

I think Daddy burned leaves on Spooky Day, too. I remember the fire. He held my hand very tight and took me up close so I could feel the heat. "That's fire," he said. "It's very dangerous."

Spooky Day was also the first time Granddaddy destroyed my doll house. I don't remember why. Mom told me that sometimes Granddaddy has anger issues, but he doesn't mean it.

I do remember going to Daddy and complaining about it.

Daddy put it back together for me that time. But after a while, I got tired of playing with the doll house, and we put it in storage.

And now there's stuff in no order. I remember sitting on the couch with Grandmother and Granddaddy.

I remember Daddy throwing me in the air and catching me.

I remember watching Daddy cook supper. He told me knives were very dangerous, too.

All of us Landgraabs are named after something expensive, which is why my sisters and I are named after cars. It could have been worse. I could have been called BMW.

That's my twin sister Mazda. She looks like my mother, and I look like my father.

Even though we're not identical twins, we love each other very much.

As a toddler, I was fussy, which meant I pitched a fit whenever things didn't go the way I wanted.

But I was happy most of the time. Just as I became a child, two strange things happened.

The first was that my dad gave birth to a third sister, Mercedes. Apparently dads aren't supposed to have babies, but I guess no one told him that. And she's not an alien, either.

My mom was freaked out about it, too. She's studying physics and plans to become an astronaut when she graduates from college.

The second was that the Grim Reaper came for my grandfather. That's my little sister Mercedes over to one side, poor kid.

My mother tried to get the Grim Reaper to bring him back, but he turned her down.

I'm going to miss Granddad. He was always willing to listen to me, and he loved music. Maybe I'll become a musician like him when I'm older.

I know the baby was the result of one of those phone calls, and I think the person called was Carl's sister, Robin Newbida. In future, I think I'll answer "yes" only when the person called is related to the future mother.

To be honest, this chapter is as much about her parents as it is about Kimberley. But that's what happens when you ask your mother to do the writing. Yes, I'm the best writer in the house -- only one best-seller away from completing my aspiration and at the top of my career as a journalist. But I still wish that Toby had done some of the writing while he was still the heir. And I'm still cross with Rosa Straud for taking Nathan away from us. And I'm not sure that Vivian is a good substitute.

She's pretty and fairly intelligent, but she does keep baking white cake. That's one reason you're not seeing my picture this time around -- too much white cake. I'm twice the woman I used to be. I suppose it's not fair to blame Vivian for that. I'm the one who keeps eating it.

And Vivian did provide us with two beautiful little girls -- Kimberley on the left and Louisa on the right -- so I suppose I shouldn't complain.

They both love to dance just as much as their father and uncle did when they were growing up. By now they've maxed their movement skills in addition to becoming potty-trained.

Both of them are independent, which can lead to the occasional meltdown, as when Louisa was confined to the high chair for too long.

But they're also full of curiosity. Yes, that's a box full of crickets that Kimberley is examining.

Toby claims he needs the crickets for his aspiration. I suppose I should be glad they're not beetles.

And there's reason to hope that we won't have the crickets around for much longer.

Toby got promoted the other day. He's in the Green Technician branch of the Civil Designer career.

Hi, everyone! Venusia Curious here. As a teen, I'm the oldest of the Generation 4 heirs. I can explain how that happened, though. My grandmother Cosma was already a toddler when she and great-grandfather Pascal moved to Oasis Springs. And my dad was abducted and impregnated almost as soon as he became a young adult.

He just had his adult birthday party, and all of us were there. That's my great-aunt Brenna in the lower left, dad, me when I was going through my bear phase, my half-brother Vatore, and Aunt Zara.

We used to live in a different house in Oasis Springs -- Affluent Mansion. It was huge, with a telescope on the 3rd story roof and a microscope in the garden. But we all got sick from the Simvid virus (I can't remember the numbers), and by the time we were all better we couldn't afford that house any more. We couldn't afford any house big enough for us, so we bought a vacant lot, Arid Ridge. This is what it looks like across the street.

And this is the inside when we moved in. Great-Aunt Brenna and Aunt Zara shared a room; Vatore and I shared a room; and Dad had a little room up on the roof.

We had a little excitement the other day when Great-Aunt Brenna was struck by lightning. Luckily she came inside before she could get zapped again.

This chapter is really more about my mom than me, but whatever.

She works as a doctor at the I Fell Down Wellness Center. That sounds like she should see mainly old people, but she treats a lot of kids, including Matilda Cottoneye.

In her spare time, she likes to dance, and sometimes I join her.

She also likes to knit and teach others how to knit, too. Not me, but other people. She says Willow Wisely has been around for a long, long time, since before Grandad was born.

One kind of exciting thing that has happened was that Mom tried to adopt a cat for us. The adoption agent came over and talked to her for a while.

But when he finally confessed that he didn't have any cats or kittens with him, Mom got upset and beat him up. We live in a neighborhood where roughhousing is encouraged, but it's the first time I've seen her put that into practice.

The other excitement was that my Aunt Amanda dropped in for a visit. If she comes back, I plan to ask her to move in and then go and live with my cousin Gina, whose mother she is.

I want to start by saying that I'm really proud of my mom, who is a pretty high level astronaut. She says that if she gets two more promotions, she'll get her own rocket, which would be really cool.

Is there anything drearier than a rainy day in summer? Peace Lee-Scott double-dog-dared me to try and go across the climbing bars while carrying an umbrella -- and I did it!

Since Freedom Day looked like it would rain as well, Grandmother took me and Mazda to Mt. Komorebi for the holiday. It was very pretty inside the house.

And the outside, with all the snow and pine trees, was pretty, too.

Mazda made a snowpal.

I don't know whether Grandmother was pleased that she borrowed her hat for the snowpal. I wouldn't want to wear a hat that was full of snow.

We went to bed early, looking forward to going skiing the next day.

In the morning, we rode the ski lift up to the slopes.

I saw something I didn't expect to see -- a woman without any clothes. But Grandmother explained that on Freedom Day, people will sometimes take off all their clothing -- even in the snow on top of a mountain.

Skiing is great! I skipped the bunny slope for children and went down the adult's easy slope. Whee!

And then we went to the Onsen, which has a hot springs you can soak in. You have to take a shower before you can go in. I have to say that neither Mazda nor I was the child who made the mess. Luckily they have a custodian who keeps the place clean.

But soaking in a hot spring didn't count as water fun, and skiing didn't count as exercise, so we returned home for the rest of Freedom Day.  Sliding in the water was fun, but I think I like skiing better.

Still, it was good to see my little sister Mercedes again. We brought her some new pajamas from Mt. Komorebi. It looks like a kimono, but with legs.

When the weekend rolled around, I went to the playground with my new friend, Taku Akiyama.

I also saw my friend Sam Cottoneye there, and got to meet Morty Gothario and Taku's sister.
