@scoed   Yes, I said that..that your sim will age up even with aging off..the part in brackets explains that.

And as for bugs, yes, they are part of the sims 4 experience. I've learnt not to get overly hyped for each DLC drop as when I lower my expectations right down then sometimes I am pleasantly surprised about some small observation. Sounds terrible but it is the only way I can still remain somewhat engaged with the game so I am able to do my job.

There never will not be bugs...right. I the entirety of it's history The Sims 4 has had severe bugs that, depending on your game play style, can be entirely game breaking... sadly, it is just part of how this game is.

I wish it were different, I also understand the QA devs work hard at bug-fixing... but bugs are definitely a 'feature' of this game. If you choose to pay money and purchase DLC, it has to come from that understanding and though it is not 'right'...it is what it is.

I personally struggled with this aspect of the game for years... now I just simply do not expect a AAA rated game even though I am paying AAA prices.

Is anyone else still finding that this is happening? I just created a new sim and it started with 2 days already added to it.

Yes, the bug is not fixed in my game either. Despite repairing, deleting the cache and whatnot :-\

@Nindigo The last patch was supposed to fix it. Have you tried it since the patch a few days ago?

I'm thinking something is still a bit off. I don't think it's fixed either.

I just made Vivienne and in that time it looks like she has aged at least two days(?)

Viv's age bar -

I saved back Tiffany from a older save and put her in the newer save as a reference point. Her age bar isn't as far along. Maybe a day(?)

Tiffany's age bar -

Updated to new patch (Nov.20th), new Sims 4 folder and new save.

The patch won't reset your already bugged-aged up sims age back but it should be stopping sims aging up any further when in CAS.

So even though I just made Vivienne today - within the last hour and looks to have "aged" two days(?) that's normal?

Sorry if the question seems silly. I've never really paid attention to the age bar because I normally play with aging off.

I've tried a few new sims and they are all at least 2 - 3 days old when out of CAS.. All post patch..

MrsFlynn - It's definitely not normal for those days to be added..  ???

Thank you for letting me know.

I did spot this on Crinrict's Twitter. She asked if anyone else is still having issues with aging, specially with newly created Sims. - https://twitter.com/crinrict/status/1065326443880693767

Though TwistedMexi thinks it's normal for a newly created Sim to have a couple of days added to their age right out of CAS.

So I don't really know what to think. *Shrug*

We had 2 days added when parenthood? came out. I am wondering if they DID fix the aging bug but the discrepancy for new CAS sims is that they only put code in for the old number of YA days?

My Sim is brand new created just a couple of hours ago as I'm writing this. And her aging bar is showing progression.

It would seem that upon creation, a Sim's age varies some days now - like it does in The Sims 3. But looking closer, I don't think the aging actually continues when entering CAS as of the latest patch.

So it feels halfway fixed.

What about Sims I created in 2016 when my main game crashed and I had to get my main Sim family back?

I don't want to send them into CAS for any reason until this is fixed completely.  However, I think the gurus have fixed part of it :)!

There are others reporting that the aging bug hasn't been fixed either.

New game sims start with random days till age up
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/New-game-sims-start-with-random-days-till-age-up/td-p/7189326

However, Crinrict mentions as well that it's normal to see extra days on the aging bar. Though it sounds like she may have asked the devs about that just in case.

My sims have always started with a random number of days added to the age bar, usually between 0 and 2 on normal lifespan, sometimes up to 5 or 6 on long. I don't think that has anything to do with the bug. I think it's just a bit of randomness when you create a new sim.

For me, this has only ever been the case if I had aging enabled. When disabled, the aging bar has never showed any progress. I believe the change in this is what is confusing people now.
