Writing Songs Question

My violinist is at the point where she needs to write songs.  In the past in order to do this I had to use the piano.  Can a songwriter write songs on the pc or with their current instrument other than the piano?

They can definitely use guitar and violin to write songs as well, I *think* they may be able to write songs for voice if their singing skill is high enough.  Your sim needs to be level 8 in their chosen instrument for write song to appear in the menu.

I don't know about writing songs on the PC.
Besides violin and guitar, I also like to use the electric keyboard. It creates a different "musical composition" object in your sim's personal inventory than the piano does.
So you can't start writing a song on the piano and continue it on the electric keyboard, or vice versa.
But the electric keyboard is conveniently portable!

You can't write music on a PC, but you can with any musical instrument in the game including singing, DJ booth, and the like. You just need to have the skill with that instrument to the required level.
