What's a dynasty challenge?

Every year, the Challenges Team creates a new multi-generational dynasty challenge that lasts until certain requirements are met.
To continue and ultimately complete the challenge, the founder(s) and their heirs must achieve specific goals.
So far, there's been an Immortal Dynasty Challenge (2014), Rival Dynasties Challenge (2015), 10-Gen Townies Challenge (2016), How Many Life States in Your World? Challenge (2017).
I'm sure a member of the Challenges Team can provide a more thrilling explanation, lol.
A new challenge is announced yearly in November. Here's a link to the rules for the challenges I've just listed.

You can still do them anytime. There are no close dates for those. Those are different from the Tournament Challenges.

Thank you.  I have to say they look a bit daunting, but I'm always looking for ways to keep me interested in one family for more than a couple of generations.  I'll definitely think about giving them a go.

My sim Carmen Collector completed 9 collection, 3 aspirations, and 3 parts of a fourth aspiration.  So my score is:
900 x 1.75 = 1,575

I had a ton of fun with this challenge; can't wait to see the new dynasty challenge and what awaits the tournaments next year!

Where do I go if I want to join your Challenges team? I am great for coming up with ideas for Sims 4 challenges but lousy when actually playing them because I can't get over playing without needs cheats. I even came up with an idea for a variant of the Apocalypse which addresses the issues of the fact that you play in a city that isn't destroyed(since it's impossible to create a post-apocalyptic world in The Sims 4 due to the way it's set up) called the Pizzapocalypse, which involves the restrictions being in place due to pizza-loving aliens that take over the world without your knowledge and brainwashing everyone to eat pizza and drink soda.

Although the coordinator for the Positivity Challenge is Millie Bobby Brown, the rule against contacting Jasmine Holiday holds for her as well. Participating in the Positivity Challenge in the tournament is not allowed.
