2018 Tournament Finale: That Belongs in a Museum!



Goal
Your Sim has always wanted to set up a Museum and fill it with personal collections -- fossils, crystals, and plants, but perhaps also My Sims dolls, relics, and voidcritters. It's up to you what your Sim collects, but the more complete collections there are, the higher the score.

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules

• The Get Famous Expansion pack is not allowed.
• Create 1 Young Adult Human or Alien Sim.
• Once you leave CAS, household additions are not allowed.
• Only the 5 Nature Aspirations are allowed.
• Once your Sim starts work on an aspiration, that has to be completed before starting a different aspiration.
• Buying a lottery ticket is not allowed.
• You should delete all scheduled holidays, but you may create one holiday with the traditions of your choice.
• Moving is not allowed.
• You are allowed to use the Buydebug cheat for the sole purpose of purchasing a satellite to prevent abductions.
• This challenge concludes when your Sim gets the first notice from the Grim Reaper.

Scoring

Complete Collections** — Give yourself 100 points for all completed collections. Please do not specify which collections you finished when posting.
**A complete collection means obtaining every possible item of any given type with all the expansion content you have installed. More expansions installed may mean you have more items to obtain for a certain collection.

CM — Component Multiplier. This is a multiplier for finishing any of the components of the 5 different Nature Aspirations. For every component finished (20 total possible) you add 5% to your starting multiplier of 1.00.

Total — Just multiply your Complete Collections and your CM together for your Total.

Here's an example:

Your Sim gets the first notice from Grim, so it's time to stop playing. At that point, you have completed the Crystals, Elements, Metals, MySimTrophies, and Postcard collections (again, do not mention specific collection names when posting). You have also finished 3 Nature Aspirations (12 components) and 2 components of the remaining Aspiration.

5 complete collections = 5 X 100 = 500 pts

CM = 1.00 + (14 components X .05) = 1.00 + .70 = 1.70

Total = 500 X 1.70 = 850

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, MarianT, sdhoey, and LenaLJ) for clarifications. That's fine with me. Can't see why you'd have to hang on to dupes. Yeah, just make sure you keep originals. After I close the event it would be fun to see screenshots from lots of players.

I've been playing this game for years, many hours, multiple generation families, and I've only finished one collection - ever.  (Not one collection multiple times.  Exactly one collection, exactly one time.  And it hasn't been for lack of trying.)

This is going to be a hard one for me.

I'm sure this is a complete Noob question, but what is CAS? Do you mean buying stuff for the house?

Hello, I'm not on the Challenges Team but I can offer an answer.
CAS stands for Create-A-Sim. You know when you start a new save? The first thing you have to do is create your sim(s), either an individual sim or a household.
CAS is that place where you design them, give them traits/aspirations, pick their outfits, etc.
Once you're done, you can save the household to your MyLibrary by clicking the folder icon in the top right, then click the check mark at the bottom right to start playing (choosing where to live).
