As from what I understand this last game update was suppose to allow you to work better with the saves from inside the game. That sounds like it's not the case for you.

I noticed that 6 September patch notes for the Sims 4 console versions ended with this:

As you might expect, we looked to the PC and Mac versions of The Sims 4 and brought over some of their fixes and changes to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With all these new features and changes, we bet you are more eager to go and try them out than read about them so we’ll sign off here, for now!

On the PC version of TS4, the devs disabled some of the cheats for dev-only use. They finally gave us ResetObject back.
According to crinrict on EA Answers HQ, some PC cheats were permanently removed at the Seasons patch in June 2018:

Shift-click ResetSim is also gone for Sims 4 on the PC/Mac.

This is just my speculation but, if your saves are working okay except that inputting any of the above cheats doesn't work, perhaps console Sims 4 has had cheats removed as well?
