[BUG] Sims not saving while aging up
« on: August 30, 2018, 08:50:18 AM »
hi,

I've been playing with the sims 4 seasons for a couple days. I have saved a couple times but one day, for no reason, I couldn't save because one of my sims was aging.

I then to age all of my sims because I was not able to find which of my sims was growing up. I didn't worked.
I have tried to quit without saving and I've lost my game so I have deleted all my games in the saves. Still not working.
I decided to delete the sims on my computer and redownload everything, Still not working.
I have taken the mods out of my sims 4 doc, not working.
I don't have anything bad in my sims 4 doc in my files because my sims 4 doc is new!

I really don't know what to do please help!
btw I have a mac.

thank you

Hi @audreyveil, welcome to the forum.  Sorry you are having this issue.

This is a known problem for the PC and there is a long thread on EA Answers here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Can-t-save-move-because-game-thinks-a-Sim-is-aging-up/td-p/3456621 that deals with it.  You may get lucky and find a work-around that helps in there somewhere.

Crinrict has asked that all platforms have their own thread in case the issues are different due to OS differences so it may be useful to start a new thread for the Mac even though the symptoms are the same as the PC version.

Although this bit of info is maybe too late for you @audreyveil  never quit to the main menu of your game, always save and quit to exit the entire game. That way any unfortunate bugs do not get the chance to spread to any other save files.

I don't know of any work-around but contacting Bluebelflora may be of help as she 'specializes' in Mac issues. https://bluebellflora.com/sims-4-mac-bugs/  she's also on twitter: https://twitter.com/BluebellFlora1?lang=en

The only other thing I can think of is to delete every file to do with TS4 from your computer, including your tray folder which contains all your saved sims and houses... and this is just a guess. I do know that when you delete the game from your computer and then redownload it, that this process doesn't actually delete all the files associated with the game. I've removed the sims 4 program from my pc often and redownloaded it from Origin as it is a useful 'reset' that usually clears out many of the annoying bugs... for a time anyway, but it doesn't delete all the save game files or the tray folder and user settings etc. You have to manually delete those to get rid of them.

I'm super sorry you've been hit with this bug, it sounds really nasty. I'll keep looking around for any useful info but I really have no idea to help you with this one at all.  :(
