Frogs! Going crazy trying to find or breed a leaf frog.

Hello all!  I've been working on my frog collection, and for quite some time the only frog left is the basic Leaf frog.  I have all the other frogs in the leaf family.  I've bred various combinations of my Leaf Frogs 40 or 50 times without breeding a single basic Leaf Frog.  Are some games just missing certain frogs?  I really want to complete the collector aspiration, and it's driving me crazy.  I've successfully completed a frog collection 5 or 6 times, so it isn't matter of not understanding the mechanics.

you may want to breed a "non basic" leaf frog with a "base" frog from another color. that's usually how it works for me.

I feel since Season's patch, it's harder to get a new frog instead of one of the wo I bred but maybe it's just bad luck, or there are some rarity/colors that are more likely to give better results. It's still possible, just longer.
