Well I've been playing the sims 3 for a while. I got my first guy writing with traits made for writing. I think he was also lucky because he got an opportunity to write a book for someone and because of that his books would make higher royalties. His best royalty payment for 1 book is $31,723 per week. They average between $28,000 & $31,000. Also the highest royalties is not for a romance novel but for a masterpiece. That takes a while and a bit of writing for that one to pop up in the choices when you select writing on the computer. I got that first guy to accumalate a weekly royalty ammont of $480,000 a week.  But he must keep writing since each week several books start dropping off. He can write about 2.3 books a week if he stays at it. The female in the house only has a one time royalty payment of $26,723. A bit lower, but I have 2 experienced writers (100 masterpieces written each) and 5 less experienced (less than 10 masterpieces written each) for a total of 1.7 million a week.  Once those other 5 gain the experience and max out their masterpice royalty payments I estimate they will combine to earn over 3 million a week!  I wish there was a way to change the weekly royalty checks for each book from 6 to like 26.

@San iper66

The advantage of romance over masterpiece is that while yes, masterpiece gets you more royalties per week, you can crank out 4 times more romance novels than masterpieces in said week. A shorter novel also means that you cap the specialization % bonus to writing best sellers and hits sooner.

This ingot's value will grow exponentially; even with very low value metals and making only one compendium per day, you can max the game's money limit within 30 sim days...

And what exactly is the game's money limit?
I have to agree with TGBlank.  There isn't anything in the game that even comes close to transmuting for moneymaking.  The maximum amount of money is going to be just beyond 2 billion simoleans. I have made several compendium bars that revert to zero value if I try to make an upgrade after they are about 1.9 billion in value.  Like TGB said it can be reached VERY easily within a month. I typically get a maximum value compendium bar in under 50 combines.  This means you need about 400 total metals to max out your cash.

I can test out how many days it takes before I hit the cap, but based on how many metals are available in Al Simhara and France, I suspect that you can reach the maximum with about a week in each location.  Al Simhara has a small island that will give almost endless amounts of copper.  I think it has about 8 spawners.  The great thing about collecting is that the game respawns nodes once the total number of active nodes drops below a certain amount.

My personal preference for starting the process is to make a supernovium bar as a seed to make sure you get started off quickly.  Even using bottom rung metals to make the supernovium, your bar will be worth about 4k to 8k.  Once your compendium bar is worth more than 10,000 there really isn't any reason to make anything but compendium bars.  The collection helper is really helpful for locating every gem or metal in an area.

You can also make insane amounts of money by making Tiberium with the transmuter.  If you put between 3500 and 4999 simoleans in mixed TYPE goods on the display before you transmute you get a small tiberium spire cut.

Hope it helps

The most money I have made from one item is the Supernovium at around 8 thousand, that was with my Legacy Family that pushed their funds up to thirty-five thousand at Gen 2 as the adults. (I'm on Gen 3, but they haven't taken over yet  ;D)

While I don't have specific numbers to back it up, I have noticed much higher average supernovium values when it is created with higher end metals.  If you find a supernovium chunk of ore, the value is higher still once you smelt it.

All it really takes to get the compendium money engine going is one supernovium bar and a cartload of other bars to mix with it.  If you have about 150 bars, you should be set for life on the resulting compendium bar.  At somewhere around 400 bars, you will max out the bar.  If the compendium bar is worth more than about 1.7 billion simoleans, it will blow up and be worth zero.

The actual value best I can guess is 1,717,986,918 which is 80% of the maximum value of 2,147,483,648 which is the highest amount of money obtainable in the game (a signed 231) simoleans.

Which metals make the compendium bar or how to do you make them?

I have never made the bars, but I have gotten into making the spire cut soulpeaces which the most expensive one is 275,000, right now I only have four of them, but she has over a million anyway and I don't really need the money.  She has made all of her money with collecting, painting, omni plants, money trees..I really wasn't shooting for how much money she can have, it just worked that way.  You can only spend so much, at least when she passes on, her kids will be set.  It is interesting what you can get with transmuting, but I would just rather play the game and not worry about what goes with what, but I find it fascinating to read what other people come up with.

Put 8 bars of between 2 and 4 different metals into the biggest display case (Carter XL I think) and do an irreversible transfiguration.  Any metals will do, so a very basic mix could be anything from 7 iron & 1 silver to 1 iron & 7 silver (easily obtainable in RV or SV) but feel free to mix and match.  As TGBlank and others have said, the higher the value of metals going into the mix the better the final result.

Thanks Metro - So with compendium bars you only use 2 - 4 types of metal and select irreversible transfirguration?

EDIT: I made one but only worth 400,  :( I also made a soulpeace worth 3000, but as you can see to the left (R.I.P Agnes), she was the collector and cutter woman and had unlocked all but heart peace, so time to get collecting for some rubbishy gems to cut!  ;D

You need to have between 2 and 4 different bars on the display when you combine.  If you put 5 different types, you get a supernovium bar.  One type makes a large bar of that same type.

Choose the XL version as it only needs 8 slots to activate instead of 10 on the small display.

Metro... Can you append to the guide?  There is another type of transmute available...

MIXED TRANSMUTE

If you combine separate types of items (gems, metals, relics) you get a new item based on the total value of the items transmuted.

Under 200           Common, uncommon, or rare seed with average quality of Nice
201 - 499           §350-700
500 - 999           22-40 Ancient Coins
1000 - 3499        A Magic Gnome
3500 - 4999        Uncut Tiberium
5000 - 11999      Fragment of Pushable Statue, Dive Well, Plain Sarcophagus, Egyptian Sarcophagus, or Sarcophagus of the Kings
12000 - 24999    Fragment of Sarcophagus of the Kings
25000 - 49999    §22000-27000 bottle of nectar, 100-200 years old
50000 - 99999    §45000-55000 bottle of nectar, 300-500 years old
100000+            §75000-110000 bottle of nectar, between 700-900 years old

The 3,500 to 4,999 formula for uncut Tiberium is hideously profitable (+30,000/use) and if you let the nectars age, you are getting about 500 a day in increased value per bottle.  The initial transmute to nectar is a bit of a negative value, but it surpasses your input amount pretty quickly if you keep the value close to 100k.  I personally make Tiberiums, let them grow to spire cut, then use those in groups of 3 to make "Fight Club Special Reserve" ---  Of course, I let it age about a month or so before serving.  Nothing beats drinking a 200,000 simolean bottle of nectar as a nightcap.

Only Carl can. I recommend you delete your post above and place it in the Guide Corrections section where he should hopefully see it soon.
