This really bugs me! It's happened several times now where I'll find a hidden staircase and head on down to the tomb to do some exploring, when I see that some idiot local or even another explorer follow me down to the tomb. Problem is, they won't go anywhere and they don't seem to know how to get back out again. So they stand there until they are starving, peeing on themselves, and falling on the floor asleep.
I usually just ignore them until I'm done with my adventure and then I'll try to lead them out of the tomb. That's hard though because they won't follow you and sometimes you don't get the "call over" option. Just today, I was exploring underneath the Rashid house in Egypt when the woman who lives there followed me down. She kept mopping up the water from the steam traps! LOL (well it WAS her house...I guess she wanted to keep the tomb clean)
Anyway, when it was time to leave, I tried going toward the stairs and calling her over. She got to the bottom of the stairs, but then wouldn't follow me out. Then I couldn't get the option to "call over" anymore, so she ventured further back into the tomb again and fell asleep on the floor. The only way I was finally able to get her out was to invite her over to my house. (finally just built a vacation home in Egypt) She followed me out and surprisingly, actually ran right behind me all the way home. Of course, when we got there, I thought I'd fix her a nice meal since she was starving, but while I was cooking, she headed upstairs and fell asleep on my bed. She coulda just stayed at her own house and fell asleep there. LOL Stupid Sims!!
One time in China, two locals followed me down to the tomb and I had a heck of time getting them out! They kept falling asleep on the ground and I'd have to wake them up....then call them over...then wake them....then call them over....all the way out of the tomb. (and there was 2 of them that time!!) I wasted more time saving those two Sims lives that day.
