Otokrak Dynasty
« on: December 21, 2010, 11:49:40 AM »
My name is Atauserk Otokrak.  Perhaps you find my name strange?  Allow me to explain.  The two parts of my name are Inuktitut/Eskimo words.  My surname (which should have accents over the two o's) means "old person".  As you can see, I am certainly not old now, but this is an Immortal Dynasty so I will be very old by the time I reach my goal.  My first name, Atauserk, is the number one.  So, loosely translated, I am the Number One Immortal in this dynasty.

Where did I come from?  Ah, I'm afraid I cannot reveal too much about my origins.  You see, I promised my friend James Douglas that I wouldn't tell anyone where the Clan Douglas went.  Why am I entering into the Dynasty challenge?  I became intrigued by it when James explained it to me.  I understand his dynasty's museum was ultimately valued at around $932,000.  Just under a million simoleons!  Now, I like James very much and he is a fine fellow - but that's just it, he is a fellow.  He's much better at fishing than at organizing a dynasty.  Ladies, I'm sure you understand what I'm saying here.  I bet James that a dynasty with a woman at the helm could top that figure, perhaps even make it over the million-simoleon mark.  So here I am.

What else can I tell you about myself?  I am a friendly person who likes to read.  I am also good at repairing things and I have an aptitude for cooking.  In fact, my fondest wish is to become a 5-star chef.  This is actually my second incarnation in Sunset Valley.  In my first incarnation, I wound up with some very strange clothing.

As you can see, someone had been watching too much Star Trek and apparently wanted me to look like a Romulan.  Big mistake.  Anyway, in my first incarnation I thought I would set my cap for Hank Goddard.  He's kind of cute and has red hair, which seemed important at the time.  He was quite happy to break up with Pauline Wan but when I suggested we formalize our relationship by going steady, you should have seen his reaction!  Red, all red.  Mr. Commitment Issues himself.  So the question was, did I want to keep trying?  Time was passing, and I decided he really wasn't worth all this effort.  I want a spouse who will knuckle down and start painting and sculpting, not someone who will waste my time playing hard to get.  But this post is long enough.  Next time, I'll tell you about my return to SV.

Awesome...a continuation of sorts. You're brave, Schip. I admire you for doing another one and breaking out the pen again. When the Mans are done, that's it for me. You can turn me over and stick me with a fork.

Welcome back Schip!

With all the cold weather we're having these days, there's nothing better that playing Sims.

I will be reading this faithfully, just like the Clan Douglas Dynasty.
You've played too much TS3 when ... your 13 month old's babble sounds like Simlish!

It's your fault for making me wait for the new tournament season!   ;D What's a person supposed to do?  But I probably won't do as much writing this time round - it took a lot of time before.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.  Sorry for the small pictures - as Rachel explained, I made a mistake trying to use the new photo system.  I hope to do better next time.  As for the story - I really don't want it consuming as much of my life as the last one did, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.  Although the last story pretty much took on a life of its own, with ideas flooding in and crying to be used.  I'm a tad obsessive about things that interest me, that's my problem.  ;)

Actually, I don't plan to change very much.  It's more a matter of trying to get things going sooner, which is why Atauserk gave up on Hank Goddard and (as her next post will reveal) went after a mate who was a little more available.  It would be nice to crack that million dollar mark, but I'm sure by the time this dynasty finishes, a lot of people will have already exceeded my last score.

Wow! Can't believe you are back at it. I loved the Clan Douglas, and will be amazed if you could find a way to top it. Good luck! You were the one who inspired me to start a dynasty of my own!

Thanks very much for fixing the pictures, Pam.  I hope to get it right next time - it always takes me a while to get used to new technology.

"My First Day"

My first day in Sunset Valley.  One of my first stops will be the Consignment store to consign some vegetables and shop for a new look, but for now here I am in my old clothing.

I am broke, unemployed, without skills, and completely alone in the world.  But I am confident I can turn my life around by the end of the day.  Just watch me.

1.  With my coffers almost empty, I choose to spend $400 on a cooking class at the Diner.  Emma Hatch is teaching the class, sees my obvious talent, and offers me a job on the spot.  It is the most menial job, but I am confident I will quickly move up.  I am very happy about my new job and cooking skill.  Now on to the next item on my list.

2.  I knock on the door of SV's most eligible bachelor.  His name is Christopher, and he is glad to see me.  He invites me in to the bathroom (?) for a cozy chat.

Soon we are friends.  I leave to visit the Consignment store, then Chris and I meet for a picnic in the park.  [Edit:  That picture was taken later!  What idiot made that mistake?  Shape up, Schipperke.]

3.  My home is still a big empty lot, so after the picnic I head over to the fire station to sleep.  I have a busy night planned and I want to be well rested.

I change into my night attire and get ready to work.

Did you think I was planning to visit a nightclub?  Go drinking?  Not I.  This is work.  Serious stuff.  Camping at the firestation is not part of my plan.  I am giving the good citizens of Sunset Valley an opportunity to be charitable to a needy newcomer.

Tired but happy after my night's labours, I return home to my brand-new bed, paid for by Agnes Crumplebottom.

*Yes, I'm back to using the in-house small pictures!  Sorry.  But I tried and tried and couldn't get the new system to work - the pictures just kept showing as red x's.  I know these small pictures are a lot less attractive, but at least I know how to do it.  Perhaps I'll try the other system again, but right now I'm just frustrated.  I'm not a technophobe, just technologically challenged.

The small pictures seem fine to me. Probably because I'm used to them.
