Univ Art Degree

Hi, I didn't know exactly what to title this. My sim is in univ studying Art, but the sketch pad and painting both will not work towards his progress. I know it's supposed to, but it isn't. When he is painting or sketching, his progress continues to deteriorate. So far, the only thing that raises his performance is studying from the book or on the comp. I tried quitting, clearing out all cache files and restarting, but it didn't work. What else can I do?

I am not sure what else to try other than to reset sim or maybe use Mastercontroller to reset everything.

You said you've already tried that?

Can you take him into a new game to see if he gains skill?

I haven't reset anything yet, but maybe I should. About starting a new game, I would have to have him quit univ, move back home, then save the family to the bin and then start new. He's part of the 5th generation.

Ah okay. You could turn on cheats and save a copy of the Sim to the library to test in a new game?

I could try that. Something is terribly wrong though. Every time I try to reset the lot, the game crashes. I'll try saving as a new game and see what happens. Otherwise, I'm doing pretty good by having him study hard and try hard at class.

Do you know if he'll keep his degree progress if he moves to another world?

I don't know, It's been awhile since I've played with a Sim at University.

I'll make a backup save just in case. I think I'll try this when he finishes his first term.

Yep, good idea to make a backup first before testing.

Other odd factors in this game is that the roomies are not cooking and not using the bathrooms much at all. This is the first time I've ever seen this.

That does sound odd. It's definitely time to test the Sim in a new game. It sounds like that save may be glitched.

I haven't been to uni in simply the longest time.

I have been making getting the uni degree as a ltr a free for all one in order to get that 7th trait lol

From memory, if the sim returns home they get to keep their uni progress, but that might be at the end of the two weeks only.

I always used to move my sims into a house without room mates.

Has the sim maxed out the painting skill? Does playing guitar or cooking increase performance?

I encountered some issues at Uni after a few generations had been there with Nraas Story Progression active, with sims living permanently in dorms, with kids etc. Maybe SP is what makes resetting the lot crash?

Dek, I meant if I moved him to another world, would he keep his degree progress. I know they keep it when they return home, but not sure about moving to another world.
Agathon, I didn't think about trying out the guitar. He is either maxed on painting or almost maxed. Regardless though, painting *should* cause his progress to go up. I'm finding that this problem is mod related though. I think my main game is corrupted and I might have to move them, but in another game everything works good except there is one mod, not sure which one yet that is causing the progress bar to deteriorate while he is painting. I'm in the process of testing out the mods now. I know it's not any of the nraas mods.

I don't know what happened before, but I removed all mods and put them back in one by one and now that all of the other mods are back, he is gaining progress. So I have no idea what caused that. I'll finish out the term for my other game and just take the plunge and move them to a different world.
