Finding the new flowers?
« on: June 25, 2018, 07:12:41 PM »
I feel a bit silly... but for the life of me, I cannot find the new flowers that came with seasons, except for holly.  I've bought both types of flower seed packs and all the seasonal packets, and have gotten the new peas and bell peppers, but not a single begonia.  Where should I be looking to find them?

You need to buy the Uncommon Plants seed pack, unlocked at Gardening L7.

I must be the unluckiest person then.  I'm getting roses, black beans and bonsai seeds... 5 uncommon packs, no new flowers at all.

It does take a while, but they turn up eventually! I think the only seed I haven't had from a pack is the Bird of Paradise, and I bought about 60 of the rare plants packs in total with no luck :)

*laughs*  All the original flowers I have.  I went on a grafting spree and hit up the Flirty festival in San Myshuno that has a ton of flowers to harvest.  I got my roses from that festival.  I guess I will just save and reset many times until I get what I need since this isn't a challenge save.  Thanks for the help!

@MissTrips
Like callycat, my sims bought waaaaaay more than 5 packs. And they were buying a combination of seasonal, uncommon, and rare seed packs.
They did manage to get everything in the end.
I hope some new world or venue will eventually be unveiled where we can just go pick the durn new flowers! lol

I'm having a truly terrible time with grafting, but it doesn't seem to be the same for everyone. Occasionally I've managed to get them to produce the additional spliced fruit or flower, but the Bird of Paradise one took ages, and the plant grown from it isn't producing flowers either. I had the same problem with one harvested from the Romance Festival.

I had to cheat in the end, but I have a nice downloaded greenhouse to customise now at least!

If it was outside it could be a season issue messing with the graft as different plant produce during different seasons. I haven't experimented enough to know. There could be a conflict there. Can you check it out. My plants are in a greenhouse so issues like that are made irrelevant as they are all "sheltered" and produce year round.

No, they were all in a greenhouse the whole time, and I haven't put any mods back so it's not that either. I tried several families and both new and old games and had the same problem with them all.

I might try a repair game tomorrow and have another try.

*makes a razzing noise*  Ugh, okay, I have tried to do this the uncheaty way and failed utterly.  I entered in the code to allow buy mode to show all objects and just bought all the flowers (and they were pricey!) so I could grow them and have everything I need for my flower arranging career.

Random seeds were constantly coughing out black beans and roses.  Not spending 250 a pop on plants I already have!

A non-cheaty way is to have a holiday with the "Holiday Gnomes" tradition. You'll get tons and tons of seed packets.
It is a little thing of my own. I call it "Heart Foam". I shall not publish it. Farewell! Patience, Patience, farewell!

Sadly this is a bug.  My game is cursed with the splicing bug too - none of my spliced plants produce the flower/harvestable that should be the result: http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=29995.0

Is there anything about gardening that isn't completely bugged as of this moment?

Not all players experience these bugs, this time around I am simply unlucky. *shrug*

@MissTrips :  I don't know if this will help but hope it will.  Found cat nips, roses, blue bells,  and more on Deadgrass Island.  Look in the areas around the graveyard.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
