How do I build floor/walls on pillars?

I don't think you can build a foundation on a pillar without a cheat or mod or something like that...

Oops, I meant like floors+walls, not necessarily the foundation. Sorry I accidentally wrote it wrong. I was looking through the thread where people posts their house creations, and I saw like tile & walls on pillars?

Place a pillar, go to the next story, and you should see nine transparent tiles surrounding the pillar.  Choose a floor tile and place it on the transparent tiles.  A ring of transparent tiles will open up around the newly placed tiles, essentially giving you two "rings" of flooring per pillar.  Place a pillar four squares away from the first, and two more "rings" will be available.  Place as many as necessary to suit your need and you will have a second story supported by pillars.

You can do this up to four levels high.  Makes a very interesting buidling!  And if you don't believe gravity exists, remove the pillars and you have a floating house!
