You can't just send anyone on vacation
« on: December 11, 2009, 01:20:02 PM »
One of my favorite sims is Jenna, married to Christopher Steel and they have beautiful twin daughters.  Christopher is in science career and Jenna is almost 5 star chef.  I sent Christopher on vacation to France cause that's where he wanted to go and he had a ball.  Now Jenna wants to go to France so I sent her cause of all the nectar making, catching frogs, etc.  She had a chance to do an adventure to go to the Landgraab mansion. Basic adventure without mummies, etc., right?   Little goof ball had fear moodlet most of the time and when she got singed a little from electricity trap (I didn't look close enough  :P)the face of the moodlet resembled terror and she refused to go any further til the moodlet went away.  I had to put her in her tent in the yard and read and relax until "her highness" could complete the challenge.  ::)  She's super popular LTW that's fulfilled, and also she has normal traits without brave or daredevil.  So traits definitely make the sim different from everyone else.  :D

She definitely won't be going on any more vacations anytime soon.  ::)

One thing that might help is to purchase the "Stone Hearted" Lifetime Reward. That makes your Sims not get bothered by scary things as much. I didn't really know what it did until I bought it for my Sim and now even the bugs that come out on her arm when she's inspecting a hole, don't bother her. She's not even afraid of mummies anymore.  ;D

I didn't know that reward did that, I thought it was for jealousy or something. Nice.

I like for my traveling Sims to be brave, then they don't ever get scared. The mummies always claims the Sims are scared but they're really not. You wish Mummy! :P :D

LOL PJ!

Yeah on that reward it says something like, "Tragedy and heartbreak just don't seem to affect these kind of Sims."  But I noticed that since my sim got it....she's not afraid of things in the tombs like she was before and she doesn't get the "creepy" moodlet when the bugs get on her arm.

Another thing that works nicely is the Potion of Liquid Courage that you buy from the Special Merchant.  When your Sim gets that fear moodlet, drink some courage and not only does the fear go away, but they'll get a superhero moodlet that stays for a couple of hours.  They won't experience fear during that time at all.

For only 40 ancient coins and VISA level 1, that's a steal. I don't even know what to do with my coins at some point. Thanks for the tip.

Great to know about that LTR Rockin...thanks!

Unfortunately she didn't have ancient coins to buy any courage, otherwise she would have bought tons.  :D

I just sent another unbrave sim on vacation with hubby to Egypt and she stocked up on courage potion.
Good thing too, she just went through Desert Ocean tomb.  No mummies but lots of scary music... :D
