Is safe to take save file from currentgame.sims3 ?
« on: June 16, 2018, 10:12:18 AM »
Sorry for bad English, but I hope I can save them.

When I save my game, I leave it away. Suddenly, my game is restarting while I save it (when I go back to play this, I just saw my laptop is in log in screen, so I think my laptop is restarting). My sister said that there is no person who try to touch my laptop.

After I log in, I went to currentgame.sims3 folder and check if the contain of the folder is there and yeah there is and then I create a folder in save folder with name Test.sims3 with the contain of the folder is currentgame folder's contain. And then, I compare it with old save and there is difference of a file (a file in currentgame folder is less 30mb (I forget the file's name)).

Is it safe to attempt loading those file or will I get error when I load those file ? What is cause of laptop restarting suddenly ?

Thank you ;)

I just did a test of what you're asking about and it looks like it worked. You may loose some gameplay progress. But it's a good saving alternative.

Your laptop shutting off during game play could mean it's over heating. Overheating could cause damage to the laptop.

If you haven't, it maybe a good idea to buy a laptop cooling pad for it, and don't play for more than an hour or two at a time and restart the computer after every couple of hours to let the computer refresh itself.

Here's an example of a laptop cooling pad

This may not cure the problem, but it should help. If your computer still keeps shutting off during gameplay, you may need to have a tech friend or family member look at it or take it to a local computer shop to have it's hardware looked at.

I think, that's not because overheating. Last night (in my place right now, It's morning), I turned on the air conditioner (It's around 22° - 16° C). I think, there is another reason of this.

*Long time ago, my laptop is shut down unexpectedly. I forget, if the situation is in the noon or night, before playing or when playing. So, this is the second time I get my laptop restarted/shutted down unexpectedly.

Still keep an eye on it. If it continues to shut down while playing the game. It definitely needs to be looked at, as it maybe damaging or has damaged the hardware.
