I'm not very good at skill grinding, so it feels like it comes a bit late.
I'll keep your advice for a possible later story, but I think I'm much better at playing for myself than trying to create a story to share.
I have the family tree, which is a bit in advance for that update, so everyone is at least a teen in it: Blue is for heirs, pink for spares, orange for brought in spouses, white crosses for moved out sims :
Iasonas completed culinary -Chef career and
Penny Tech Guru-esport gamer
Yanny completed Writer-Journalist,
Sonny Secret agent- Diamond agent and
Ponas is an Athlete-Culturist.
Elsa worked in retail as teen, and is now a full time mom, with a slow social media career on the side.
Last update, genius Yalsa was just reaching his teenhood, with a new love for music. That's great since his mother can mentor all instruments. He was also wishing for his hair to get to their past lenght. But suddenly, Yalsa realised his childhood love was now very much younger than he was, and he wasn't sure he could keep on the promise he had made to Olivia as a kid, as they hadn't so much in common now. Had he imagined his love because he wanted the same thing his parents had?
Thankfully, goofy Olivia was now very included in the family, and didn't look like suffered much from the distance now Yalsa was a bit too old to share her games. She just wished there would be more game and a lot less homework. Rambuctious blue Elyanny would agree, and butterfly Sayann only wanted to be done so she could listen her brother playing violin and maybe learn from him.
Yanny thought he could spend some time with his son, by teaching him how to paint. Yalsa merely wished his father would get dressed even when he spent the whole day in.
Elsa decided spouses should have a place on the house family tree even if they were fully sims and not aliens, so she took a selfie to add to the wall. In the sport gear she wore most of the time to help Ponas with his daily requirements.
And she's sometimes using her homework mentoring time to give tips to Olivia on how to deal with half aliens so stressed to be discovered they don't open to anyone. Sometimes, they just need some strong presence to make them see the good side of life.
And Yanny use the modeling sessions for Yalsa's teen portrait to give his son some advice on how to deal with puberty and the fact lack of physical attraction for a younger girl is mostly a good thing as a strong friendship would be a way more important foundation for a happy future.
All those advices seemed to work, and Yalsa tried to work on mending the small bridge between Olivia and him by being more open to talking with her. Still, the girl bubbly personnality never ceased to surprise him and she often was her when he expected it the less.
On the older generation, work was not going as smoothly as expected, and sometimes, people came home tense. And they could lash out at each other for the idiotest thing. Like Yanny being close to being an elder when his young wife was spending so much time training with his athletic little brother.
But Elsa was quick to help her husband seeing how silly it was. And forced him to admit what was really in his mind. He wasn't sure he should stay or move out, but he couldn't abandon her with four kids and nearly no money.
Elsa promised it would be fine, and that they were used to wait for each other. She promised she would join him as soon the kids would be able to handle themselves, and Ponas was here to help, and seeing her more like his sister than anything else. But once Yanny moved with his mother and her roomates, Elsa was feeling empty. Even helping his son learning piano wasn't always enough to focus on something else.
There was also a lot of nostalgia seing Yalsa and Olivia. She missed that time when it seemed nothing was more important than oversmarting Yanny about some math problem. It seemed that Olivia found some pleasure to confuse her best friend too, even if she hided her smiles behind her textbook.
Ponas had stayed, partly because he loved his nephew and knew it was unlikely he'll ever have children of his own, and partly because someone needed to help paying the bills or do the heavy lifting around the house. The girls loved having him around, and he was teaching them all they needed to fullfill their future dreams, like logic for Sayann.
And knowing her children were in good hands, Elsa dared to take some time for herself and meet her husband in the nearby city.
And Yanny was still often coming to check on his children.
Those stolen moments weren't enough to fill the emptyness, but it eased Elsa's heart a bit.
Still, it was hard that Yanny must miss important milestones, like Elyanny's birthday. Would he recognise his rambuctious little girl in this beautifull teen?
Elyanny and Elsa had a serious discussion about the younger's goals. Would she concentrate on her studies, or was she interested by a teen career? It was a hard choice, but Elyanny kept from her childhood the need to move a lot, and thought she may follow her uncle Ponas.
But more than anything, Elyanny felt there was nothing she couldn't do now.
