@Shewolf13 , @oshizu , @LenaLJ , @Tynynounours , and @commasplice,

I hope you don't mind if I respond to everyone all together this time.  You are all so sweet!  Thank you for reading and commenting.  I'm glad you enjoyed Ernest's first update.  Writing Gen 2 this way just seemed to fit with the Journalist career, and it let's me highlight each family member without getting too bogged down in coming and going from work/school each day.

I should have both Hope and Grace's stories up soon.  :)

The Story of Hope

Hope Murray has always been full of energy and spunk, even as a toddler.

As a child, Hope became a bit of a Neat Freak.  This was a huge help to her parents because she often voluntarily cleaned up after her younger siblings.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

But sometimes that particular trait was a burden.  Since baths and showers were still banned items, it was often difficult for Hope to stay as clean and tidy as she would like.

While completing the Social Butterfly Aspiration as a child, Hope noticed a curious trend among the neighborhood boys.

They all seemed to wear various shades of the same sweater.

When “the sweater” was randomly bestowed upon her younger sister, Hope vowed to do something about the tragic fashion situation in What Cheer.

Her resolve was further strengthened when she aged-up into this outfit on her teen birthday.

Hope immediately joined the teen retail career.

It was exhausting work, but Hope maxed the retail career quickly.

In fact, she was the 2nd Sim to clear a job restriction.  She beat her mother by 4 days.  Granted, teen careers only have 3 levels compared to 10 in adult careers, but it was still an accomplishment.

Thanks to Hope, Sims in What Cheer could now update their wardrobes. We could also enter buy/build mode or replace objects on any day of the week, not just Sunday.  All the Murray children instantly got makeovers.

After high school, Hope chose to enter the culinary career.  She had been randomly assigned the Master Mixologist Aspiration as a teen, and she found bartending to be a fun way to pass the time.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

One night, she was fortunate enough to buy a Mythical Drink Guide off an old man and learned the Snaggle Fluster recipe.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Hope’s favorite way to unwind after a long day of work was to strum the guitar.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Sometimes she forced herself to workout.

When asked to name their favorite thing about Hope Murray, her family members replied that Hope was everybody’s friend and she gave the best hugs.

Here’s to you, Hope!

Oh dear, that's tragic!  :o
Earning the elusive recipe for Snaggle Fluster without being able to drink it.
Congrats on lifting the retail career unlock! Totally worth it. (And how bizarre about everyone wearing that City Living sweater, lol)

The Story of Grace

Does the baby of the family always get spoiled?  Does being the youngest impart some kind of natural charm?  Whether birth order or just coincidence, Grace Murray was certainly a charismatic toddler.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

As a child, Grace decided that she wanted to do everything her big sisters did.  They got A’s in school.  She wanted to get an A in school.  They were social butterflies.  She wanted to be a Social Butterfly.  They told Uncle Leo knock-knock jokes.  She wanted to tell Uncle Leo a knock-knock joke.  You get the idea.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Of course, Grace had a twin brother, and they were best friends.  But he was a boy, and she didn’t idolize him the way she idolized her sisters.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

When Grace became a teen, she found she had some soul-searching to do.  Should she follow the path of her older sisters and max a teen career?  Or should she do something different?  Each Sim could only clear one job restriction, and she wanted to make sure she made the right choice.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

In the end, she decided that the Tech Guru career was perfect for her.  She had been a Geek since childhood, and it was a happy day when she was finally allowed to use the computer to complete a work task.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

When it came time to make another decision, Grace chose the eSport Gamer path because she wanted to share her love of technology with everyone.  She wasn’t super fond of the work outfit, but she felt it was a cross worth bearing.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Finally, on a Tuesday evening, Grace realized her dream of becoming a Champion Gamer.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Thanks to Grace, now everyone was allowed to use the computer, as well as tablets and TVs.  We could still only purchase the lowest quality items, however, which is how this Penguin TV ended up in the living room.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

We all soon became hopelessly addicted to the Cooking Channel.

And Faith, who has the Good Trait, was thankful that she could finally donate to charity which meant the Mob got less money every week. That is what we call a win-win!
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Sometimes Grace probably wondered why she unlocked the ability for everyone to use the computer.  For the record, I was completing a work task (probably).
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

When she wasn’t gaming, Grace chose the violin as her creative outlet.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

And here’s another fun-fact about Grace: she’s a loner who also happens to be socially gifted.  Take that to a psychologist and discuss!

Oh, but they could drink the Snaggle Flusters!  I probably didn't make that clear enough, but Mixologist was Hope's second career which she only joined to get out of the house and to work on her Aspiration.  Jasmin completed Mixologist first so by the time Hope got there, they didn't have to throw out drinks.

It was indeed strange about the sweater.  I had to play ahead quite a bit in order for Ernest to write his stories so I can tell you that it will appear again.   ;)

This was the first time I've had the chance to use the Snaggle Fluster.  Now I see what all the hype is about and why people keep their mixologists at level 9 until they get it.
This was also the first time I've done the journalist career.  All the interviewing is pretty time consuming, but at least in this challenge it gave Ernest something to do (because not much was unlocked yet).  Also, I was sooooo tired of washing hands in the sink, I would have put up with any daily task for work!

Yeah, the Neat trait was tough on Hope for a while.  Thank goodness her brother cleared the Journalist career eventually so everyone could use the showers/bathtubs.

The Story of a Boy and a Girl

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

This is the story of a Boy and a Girl.  In many ways, their story is like that of any boy and any girl, but none-the-less it is their story and they are quite fond of it.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

The Girl grew up in a little town called Willow Creek with loving parents who provided her with everything she could ever want, including a younger sister.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

The Girl was exceptionally smart and pretty and talented and well-liked.  People often remarked that she could go anywhere and be anything that she wanted to be.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

That is perhaps why some were surprised when-- upon reaching young-adulthood— the Girl announced  that she intended to move to a place which had once been the site of a nuclear disaster.   You see, the Girl had heard that in this place formerly known as Glassbolt, the people had nothing to eat but fish even though it had been multiple decades since the meltdown occurred.  The Girl felt in her heart of hearts that her destiny was to go to this place and save its residents from a lifetime of culinary ennui.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

It sounds dangerous, people said.

It’s so far away, people said.

Why don’t you just open a restaurant in Willow Creek, people said.

Follow your heart, her mother said.

And the Girl did.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Now the Boy grew up in this place formerly called Glassbolt and all he had ever eaten was fish.  Fish for breakfast. Fish for lunch. Fish for dinner.  To him, fish was synonymous with food.  It never occurred to him to desire anything else.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

But the Boy’s father and mother had not always lived in the place formerly known as Glassbolt.  Although they had come to love the place and had raised a family there, they both knew that other worlds lay beyond its borders and other dishes existed besides grilled fish.

So when the Boy’s parents learned that the Girl needed a place to stay, they welcomed her into their household with open arms.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Boy.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

In his defense, the Boy was usually a very good-natured lad.  However, the Boy’s father chose an inopportune moment to announce the Girl’s arrival.  The Boy had just come home from a rather hard day at school which had him feeling Very Tense, and he was not particularly pleased to learn that a girl he had never met before had moved in and been given his room.   Why can’t she bunk with my three sisters? the Boy asked.  We thought she’d prefer her own room, his father replied.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

The Boy stomped into the house and was immediately brought up short by the sight of the Girl.  It wasn’t her beauty that stopped him in his tracks, although she was very beautiful.  No, it was the look in her eyes.   It was a look that said she was far from home and feeling a bit unsure of herself, but doing her best to put on a brave face in this house full of strangers.

As I said, the Boy had a kind heart and it melted at the sight of the Girl.   He was also an unusually perceptive young man and had a knack for putting others at ease.  He gave the Girl a reassuring smile and the two became instant friends.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Now, I know you can see where this is headed, but I feel the need to mention that at this point neither the Boy nor the Girl had any Romantic Feelings whatsoever.  It simply was not possible because the Girl was exactly four days older than the Boy.  She was a young adult, and he was a teen on the day they met.  Thus, the Boy and the Girl became Very Good Friends first, which I do believe is the foundation for a solid and lasting Love.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

And let us not forget that the Boy and the Girl lived in a household with five other people.  When Romantic Feelings did become possible, the Boy and the Girl always seemed to be under someone else’s watchful eye.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

So the Boy and the Girl did as many a young couple in Love has done before them; they snuck out of the house.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

But fear not, Gentle Reader!  The Boy’s intentions were nothing but honorable.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

And so, the Boy and the Girl were married…
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

...and they raised their own little family in the place which is now called What Cheer.
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

And the Girl taught the people of What Cheer how to cook meals besides fish, but that is really the subject of another story.

It never dawned on me until I read this update that Pinstar created his TS4 Apocalypse Challenge before the vegetarian trait had appeared!
Any vegetarians would be so busy, munching on harvestable after another when they weren't washing their hands incessantly.

I enjoy how you introduced the Boy and Girl's budding and mature relationship before introducing each of them individually.
Now we won't need to wonder who that strange girl is, walking around in the house, lol.
And how wonderful that they hit it off so well!

Yeah, vegetarian would have been a hard trait to manage for sure.
I'm glad you liked this update.  I was having a hard time deciding whether to put the romance in Rosemary or Ernest's story.  It finally occurred to me to make it a separate story, and tell it first.

This is so sweet.
Thanks!  :)
