Sims Not Aging
« on: February 14, 2018, 10:48:31 AM »
Hello!

I am recently having an issue with my sims not aging. It seems to be the whole neighborhood not being able to age. I am able to age them by buying them a birthday cake but doing this for all of the households in the neighborhood is tedious. I have tried re-installing basic game and expansion packs and it was working for couple weeks but now it has started again. I have created a completely different neighborhood and after a couple sim days they have stopped aging.

The expansions I have installed is late night, generations, pets, seasons and university life. I have no custom content installed or mods applied to the game. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

This seems to be a bug that still affects a lot of players games. From what I gather there still isn't a permanate fix for this. However, here are some troubleshooting tips:

1. Try evicting household and move them back in, as a forum of resetting them.

Reset Town, Individual Sims and/or Evict Household

Your Sims will lose all relationships outside the household and jobs your Sims currently have. Move them back, to the same town and house if you want to or into another town.

2. Go back to a previous save if you have one. (From before the glitch/bug happened).

3. Copy the save and play with the copy to see if that might help.

If you are willing to try a mod fix, the Overwatch mod from NRaas has a feature that runs a "stuck aging check" every sim day and forces an age-up on sims who have been in their current age stage too long.

Is it possible you accidentally turned off aging in the settings and didn't realize it? Go into your settings and make sure that "the box next to "Enable Aging" is checked.
