« on: February 12, 2018, 11:47:47 PM »
The next pack for the Sims 4 is going to be called Jungle Adventure.

There isn't a ton of information yet, but there is a little.  First is a tweet from the official Sims twitter, with a small clip (the official trailer comes out tomorrow)

In this pack, Sims will travel to a faraway land called Selvadorada. They can explore the jungle, leaving no stone (or hidden pool!) unturned, discover ancient relics, and much more. To uncover extra fun, your Sims will stumble upon a hidden temple, where they can venture inside mysterious rooms. Great treasures or perilous doom await at every turn. Watch out for that trap!

Not into crazy adventures but still want to spice things up? Your Sims can try traditional foods, tear up the dance floor with fresh music, and adorn themselves with colorful local fashion. They can also excavate and examine precious objects to keep for themselves and show off at home. Will they unearth something ancient, beautiful, or even mystical? Perhaps all three, but watch out for pesky fakes worth nothing at all!

Now, we know all this probably sounds super entertaining, but no adventure goes without risks, right? Keep in mind that while on their excursions, your Sims will have to be careful of bees, poisonous spiders, and other deadly creatures. Plus, watch out for dangerous natural elements. Don't say we didn't warn you

poisonous spiders, bees, deadly creatures, dangerous natural elements? Sounds more like Ausimtralia than Selvadora to me.

Pleased such things don't happen to my Sims on world adventures, they only run the risk of mummies and traps there.

Screenshot looks marvellous, I particularly like the rainbow.

Is this going to be a vacation spot like Granite Falls? I hope!

Th youtuber Deligracy said she'd been given some information on the pack in her Trailer reaction video, apparently were getting 2 new skills. It seems likely one will be Archaeology, and maybe the other one will be the new Dancing?

(Just FYI: Dancing can't be one of the new skills with Jungle Adventure as we already have that as a skill from Get Together.)

What we know quoted directly from simsguruninja's (Dave Moitke) tweets: https://twitter.com/SimGuruNinja

Selvadorada is another holiday destination world (as is Granite Falls)
There are assorted local Selvadoradian villas to rent on the outskirts of the dense jungle. They're warm, furnished places. Almost like you're using          Airbnb to stay in someone's real home
Yes you can adventure with others. Your own household sims, other NPCs, toddlers, kids, pets… you name it.
Skeleton-ism (that's a term, right?) is an affliction your sims endure. You can't create them in CAS
Harvestables? plural? Fish types? plural? Why yes. Yes to all.
Correct. Layouts will change, traps will randomize, loot can be different. There's definitely reasons to return and explore more!

SimGuruMegs says there are new aspirations and that there are limited layouts (for the temple) but the traps and loot are randomized.

Other Information
New Lot Traits
No new career, but the Archaeology skill can be leveraged to generate tidy profits. (simguruninja)
The Cantina is a Bar venue that has special behavior in Selvadorada. But it's a venue, so you can freely modify or change it as you like. (simguruninja)
The Temple is an uneditable venue type.
You can place all the traps at home and build some pretty amazing things with all the new BB offerings, albeit with different functionality than at the Temple itself. (simguruninja)
We've given you some new ways to prepare for and protect against the many dangers you'll inevitably face. (Protip - Folks who have the Herbalism skill from Outdoor Retreat also have useful recipes available to them) (simguruninja) This was in response to a question about the poisonous spiders/bees and traps etc mentioned in the official blog.
At least two new radio stations

Info from Live Stream 1:

There are 2 new neighborhoods in the world:
Puerto Llamante Marketplace neighborhood: Cantina, Museum, a bar (?) and a rentable villa. Also has other areas such as fishing spots etc
The Jungle District which has areas that you cannot directly access, your sim has to travel to the Trail Head lot and then explore to unlock these areas. Once 'unlocked' they are visible from other areas in the map in live mode so the neighborhood has an 'open world' aspect to it. The new area-unlocks within the Jungle District are not behind loading screens.

2 Skills: Selvadoradian Culture Skill and Archaeology Skill
2 Aspirations: Jungle Explorer and Archaeology Scholar
3 Editable Venues in Selvadorada
2 Villas that you can rent in Selvadorada
2 New radio stations: Latin Pop and Traditional Latin Station
3 Harvestables: advocado, black bean and one to still be disclosed
3 New Fish
2 New collections: Ancient Omiscan Artifacts and Omiscan Treasures
2 New Lot Traits: Creepy Crawlies and Peace and Quiet
1 New Death (?)
New food types that as your sims Selvadoradian Culture Skill levels up they can learn and cook at home
New Food Pop-up Stall
New Market table that sells good to aid adventures such as portable food, and waterfall in a bottle (shower in a can basically) and repellents (which if in a sims inventory they will use automatically when attacked by spiders, bees etc)
Excavation Sites can be interacted by a single sim or if 'Established' by a sim with higher archaeology skill can then be dug by multiple sims at the same time.
Various relics to be found, collected and then examined on the new portable archaeology table. These relics can be pieced together along with gems that are Refined (again on the archaeology table) and then can be used to summon skeletons or turn sims into a skeleton.
1 New NPC: Skeletons
New Collection Case which has multiple slots for displaying relics or any other item you want to. Works with items already in game.

Skills:
Base Game skills seem to unlock more ways to solve the pop-up adventure text quests/dangers. In the stream the following 3 were shown:
Logic Skill: helped sim to avoid being attacked by bees
Rocket Science Skill: results in a better outcome when examining egg (found in jungle)
Charisma Skill: aids in a higher chance to walk among the sloths.

Extras:
A patch to be released before Jungle Adventures among other things will bring a portable toddler bed so those people who want to go camping can take the whole family. Also to note: Outdoor Retreat tents are also toddler compatible

This pack looks awesome!

1. For the less adventurous of us, can we buy this gp for the CAS/build/buy items, as well as a vacation to the villas near the village marketplace?
2. Are there any possible spiders, etc. around those villas near the marketplace?

1. Yes of course, you can play any pack any way you want. If you don't want to explore in the jungle then just don't take your sims there.  :)
2. Don't know, didn't see any apart from in the Jungle District so won't know until I've played it. It's early days yet and there is another Live Stream to come, also Carl will have a guide up to which will help you decided if it's the kind of pack you're interested in.

Thanks a lot, Play!  I'll get the new GP, and of course, I'll look at Carl's guide, as well.  I'm excited to see part 2, but my Sims will not be going to the temple, but that's O.K. :)

However, I think I'll explore the jungle in a new game, with new Sims I don't really care about, just in case.  Then, I can decide if I want to take my main family there.
