Hitting the maximum week of nectar value
« on: December 18, 2010, 08:27:06 AM »
I will change the title of this topic maybe later.
I was trying stuff with nectar bottles. They are ageing in two different nectar racks, one you can buy, and one you can sculpt. The last one is a masterpiece and I was hoping it will raise the money of nectar quicker or more. But it doesn't.
However, beside that disappointment, I saw my nectar is still aging and the value is pretty awesome ($90.000,- per bottle and raising), but the weeks it said it is in my savefile sticks with 15 weeks. Eventhough my Sims lives now for... what will it be? Several simyears or so, if you count 52 weeks in one your in game too. The fact is that the bottles are also almost that old, although the game doesn't seems to count it also.
Is this a bug, is this a Easter egg (in December) or is this something else?

BTW, just so you guys know: if you get nectar from another savefile, the nectar aging weeks start to count from 1 again.

The week that you see on a bottle of nectar refers to the week in the game it was made.  In your example, that nectar was made in week 15 of the game.

That makes sence. Atleast it does somehow. But if it is made in week 15, how can it be that the description says it is 15 weeks old?

Mine says...

Week: 19 - Grapes Nectar

...not that it is 19 weeks old.  So I read it as Grapes Nectar made in week 19.

It shouldn't say that it's 15 weeks old.  It should say week 15 or something similar.  Can you look again and tell me exactly the wording?  Do you play the game in English?

Yes, I am playing the game in English now since a few months. But I was confused: the nectar I was checking out was the ones from my Dutch savefile. Those translations are sometimes not (how can I say this friendly)... not very well done. :P

Thanks for the help you two!

Another notable thing I've noticed while making nectar and aging them, is the thing that only in basements the nectar does age! I had about 6 nectar racks and all filled for about 2 sim weeks, but none of them aged  :-\ Then my simmie had a strange wish to build a nectar rack under ground LOL. Even she knew that nectar ages only underground  ;D Then I placed all of my bought/made nectars in the basement and they aged! Hope this helps! Also when you look up in the Consignment Store menu, you can find nectars made by others, which cost the same as your just-made nectar, but the meter shows that they are 3 years old! 3 years is 156 sim weeks right?  :o  ???

I asume it does. But I haven't tested it. And I will not do it anyway, haha! Sitting and calculating until 156 simweeks have passed. :P

Btw, even my nectar on the main floor is actually aging. Although not very hard as underground.

There are two different types of nectar in the game:  the kind you make and the kind you find/buy.  The kind you make tells you what week it was in the game that it was made (as was already said), while the kind that you find/buy will be listed as "1147 year old" nectar or something like that.  Typically, when you buy it as opposed to finding it, the age will be double digits.

Perhaps that was the point of confusion?

Thanks Hosfac, that all have made sense to me.

@ Pam, have you already seen how much the 'Pam du Plum' and 'Pam du Vampiri' nectar worth is? ;) If not, you will be positively surprised.
