Chapter 17- Over The Rainbow
WENSDAY
Early Wensday morning, when the sun had not yet risen, tragedy struck.
At 4.45am, and the age of 89 days, Shayne left this earth. Did he know it was his time? Was that why he had hugged Frank so tightly, and told him to look after his mother and sister? It seemed so unreal. Just hours earlier, had Shayne not been talking to his daughter, joking and laughing about plants? Why did he have to go, and leave his family alone?
Shayne begged for a bit more time, but Grim would not be swayed, and Shayne stepped out of this world, and into another.
Rest In Peace, Shayne.
A small grave was built. Billi cried until no more tears would come out. Although she felt life couldn't possibly go on, it did. The children, still in shock and mourning went to school, and Billi, bravely, went to work.
Esther is still only a girl, and can't understand why her kind, gentle, and loving father had to be taken away from her. She cries out her sorrow after keeping locked up at school all day.
Frank continues playing chess competitively, but his opponent is Doug, Shayne's one, and only, non-household friend. Frank loses, probably due to grief.
That night, when everybody was asleep, Shayne appeared in his ghostly form. Being the father he is, he stayed outside, not wanting to risk waking his family up. He did, however take a sip of the drink he made the day before he died.
THURSDAY
Although Frank and Esther have never been close, they need each other so much in these tough times, even if it's just sitting together on the bus.
Esther has started a nice little garden, and she waters and tends it faithfully.
Slowly, slowly, Billi is learning to cope without Shayne. But getting into her empty bed each night is a struggle. She misses Shayne, because even though he made about a 1% money contribution to the house, he made a 100% emotional one.
FRIDAY
Billi wakes up the next morning happier then she has been of late. Today will be her big promotion to Level 9, Vice-President. Come'on Billi!
Things are looking up for Esther as well. She's found a friend.
Esther- You like food as well? No way!
Is that Beauty, Queen of Evil, wearing a teachers uniform?
Beauty- I've found my true calling, teaching young, innocence minds!
It's amazing what Story Progression can do to Sims, isn't it?
Frank invites Doug over for a rematch, and beats him by a mile. All hail Chess King Frank!
Then, for no reason at all, Doug runs over to Shayne's grave, and cries.
Yes, this was very sad for me to write. I'll really miss Shayne
