Downloading CC and Mods on Mac OS X
« on: December 11, 2017, 12:55:10 PM »
I am having some difficulty downloading CC and Mods and seeing all of them in game play. Many of the CC files and Mods, as most of you know, come in a Zip file. I downloaded a decompressor app through iTunes to unzip those files so I can put them in my Mods folder for the game. I know that you must unzip and place in file otherwise they will not show up in game, but when I place those files in the Mods folder, do I then delete the original unzipped file, or do I need to keep even the unzipped file with the decompressed files and place all of those in the Mods folder together? I know it is probably a stupid tech question but I literally cannot find the answer anywhere. Please help! Thanks!

Hi @madisonalicia, welcome to the forum.

The only *.zip files that need to be in the mods folder are ones that have python files inside (*.py and *.pyo). All other mods and cc should be *.package or *.ts4script and can go straight into the mods folder.  The original *.zip file that you extracted them from can be deleted or kept somewhere else in case you need to reinstall.

The mods folder can contain 1 extra level of folders to make organising your mods/cc easier, so mods/clothes is fine while mods/clothes/girls means the cc can't be found.

Happy Simming
Helen
