Pet Age Meter
« on: November 13, 2017, 02:28:48 PM »
I can not figure out for the life of me how to find out a dog/cats age, I know there is a guide of how long dogs/cats live in each life stage, but how can I find how old they are?
I mean is it even an option?

I have all strays I adopted into my home, and most are elders, and would like to adopt more but reached my household limit of 8.

EA chat was of no help.

I attached what I am talking about, of a sims person, but it's not the same for dogs/cats since they can't be controlled.

Please and thank you :)

Welcome to the forum, @shetay29! There is no way to discover the age of a cat or dog, other than the general category of puppy or kitten, adult, and elder. If you're concerned about losing a pet, there are treats at the vet clinic to age up or age down a pet, and also an ambrosia treat to bring a ghost pet back to life.

@MarianT  do you know if sims get a notification warning that their pets are about to age up? I've been playing with aging off so I don't actually know what happens when a pet does age up.

I've not had one age up yet, so I don't know. And I don't know if elders hear from Grim.

There is no warning. The only sign is they start chasing their tails, then the sparkles came about. In my new 10 gen legacy, I started mine with a puppy and it is Wednesday of the first week and she aged up to an adult.

Thank you all for the replies, didn't realize I'd get replies so soon..

I have the lot trait for dog hangout (strays show up) and I did witness a grim reaper taking a strays life, it was alive until it slayed it with its scythe.

I've been playing this specific story I made since yesterday morning, and none of my dogs have died yet, that's why I was curious on when they will pass and how to know..
It would be lovely if we could see just how old they are.

this is the one thing that is irritating me. Lol

Two points of anxiety: there is no warning!! and the pet was alive until Grim scythed him!!! Double anxiety...eeek, there are no warnings. Welp, age is now forever staying off!  :o

I haven't witnessed a pets death yet, but all I can say is wow. That's harsh.
