Notify button doesn't work anymore

When I see a topic I really like to follow (and that number is raising the last few weeks) I like to get an email when someone has replied to it, and therefore the Notify button is a must click!

Although, ... it should be. For some mystical (and hysterical) reasons it don't work for me anymore. I can click it, but I won't receive an email. And that's to bad.

So my dear moderators, what did I wrong that I actually deserved this?

That's a feature I have never actually used, Leto. But, I'll do a little test with this thread. I clicked Notify and I'll let you know if a received an email.

Hmm, what OS are you using? And what program for internet? Internet Explorer? That's what I use and I've read here that other members also have problems with the e-mail scrolling thing when they are typing an email while using Internet Explorer like I use.

I got a Notification today from someone replying in Three different threads so it works for me, I use Windows 7, Firefox Browser.

Don't know anything about the notify feature as I have never used it but maybe you can only get notified for so many threads and then it will not let you add more. So maybe there is a spot that you can adjust the notifications of older threads or how often you would like to get them? I don't know just an idea. Hope that it might help some.

It says something like you only get one notification when a new reply is posted, you don't get anymore until you view the thread. It's to stop the notifications from spamming you, have you tried viewing those threads?

Have you checked your inbox so it's not full?

Notify has always worked for me, too.  In fact, I had to un-notify a bunch of threads because my inbox was way too full every day.  Also, I'm moving this to the Technical Help board.

@samoth: you mean simply viewing by just clicking on them as I always do? Yes I have, because I must now the button doesn't work anymore. Are you saying that doing it that way will stop the Notify button from working?

@Swede: Yes, my inbox is empty, empty with the stuff related to this forum it is. Also notifications from having an e-mail on here do also not work.
Illuminator and I are mostly in contact through e-mail and normally I got an notification e-mail in my inbox when I got one. Now it take a little more time before I responce to anything.

Try unclicking the Notify and then activating it again tomorrow maybe.

What settings do you have checked?  If you go to your profile, then on the left side under modify profile, there is "notifications and emails".  You have different options on when you can get emails.  Also for the part "For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me of:" make sure in the drop down box you have "replies and moderation".  You may have asked to be notified but your drop down box may say "nothing at all".  That may be why are are not receiving the messages.  Let me know how that worked out for you.

Also, until you can get it working again, Leto, you can click on "Show new replies to your posts" located in the top left corner of the screen.  It may not be exactly what you want, but it's better than nothing.
