New Computer?
« on: September 19, 2017, 09:20:25 AM »
Hi, this is my first ever post :) (I am from the U.K btw)

Okay so I am allowed a cheap computer for my birthday, the reason i can't get a really good expensive one is because i am getting my room redone at the same time but I desperately need a new computer haha

Right now i only have a laptop, the Dell Inspiron or something, I think it's a pretty old model that costs 200 pounds and something.

It's so terrible for the Sims 4, it lags so badly even when i remove all of my custom content, lower the game features, and put it in laptop mode. I just want to play the sims where it doesn't lag and I can actually see the game in high quality

So I found a few computers which claim they are good for gaming, the only other thing i need the computer for to be will be the internet and microsoft things like word and powerpoint, because I have to do all my school work on this too.

If someone could please give me advice on which computers will work the best for playing sims on (since i have no clue about anything inside the computer, like cores, processors, RAM and CPU's all confuse the heck out of me haha) I would be really grateful!!
Also i have already found monitors, a mouse and keyboard!!

Thanks,  from Sophia :)

(P.S. Before you comment please know that I realise the best computers will be super expensive I am just asking which one will be the best out of all of them, and will work better than my laptop, I also believe it has a "Dual core, 1.5 Ghz processor" if that helps! )
I am also open to other computers around the same price range.

Out of all of them, #1 or #2 will work, they'll both get low to medium graphics.

I'm going to be completely blunt here... you're not going to get something that can run Sims 4 WELL for around £200 or £300.

Having said that, I'd go for #1 (https://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/AMD-FX-GAMING-PC-Quad-Core-Configurator?keyword=&gclid=CjwKCAjwl_PNBRBcEiwA4pplRXhUCr43o124Nu3jZTuoJfPEYowXpGKi2V2Ey459lVuBi7i1YX5QsBoCzF0QAvD_BwE), scroll down to where you can change things around and swap the graphics card from a GT 710 to a GTX 1050, but that will make it around £400 with VAT.

That will DEFINITELY run the game on high and should be fine with expansions, mods, CC, etc. It also gives you more future proofing for when extra content comes out.
