Yes, Joria, that's correct. It's not much different from how you used Photobucket, but I think it's more user friendly. The difference is that the images will be on our server, not Photobucket's server. This gives us much more control over the whole thing, which is good for our members and good for the Forum overall.
Thank you, Pam. I try to be a pretty conscientious forum member but I'm concerned because I tend to use a LOT of photos, particularly in my dynasty, (and I have a few legacy ideas I want to do), and don't want to overload the usage. I pretty quickly went through the photobucket amount allowed with over 400 screenies, and that was with me frequently removing them as you know. (messed up the forum that way) I hate to suggest limiting our usage, but might it not be a good idea? There are an awful lot of us doing the dynasty/legacy/story thing not to mention the showboat thread. I can see where this could get pretty expensive if more storage, or whatever it is, has to be bought to keep our shots there.
If I remove a picture from my pc that is posted on the forum via the thumbnails, the pictures are still there. (tested it this morning)
I do this to keep my pc from slowing down because of being cluttered with too many photos. Would this still be the case with Coppermine? (hmmm, I seem to remember using this when I had a business website. It was pretty cool and easy to use.)
