When a computer breaks (in-game)
« on: July 24, 2017, 10:37:19 AM »
Hey guys :)

I have noticed that from the sound of my Sim's computer breaking until it actually shows a blue screen of death (and the sound repeats) something like 30 secs and up to a minute passes by. In the meantime, my Sim keeps on using it. Does this happen in your games, too? Just curious.

Wow Nindigo, I'm so relieved to read that it's only your sims' computer that's breaking. For a second, I was horrified that you might be posting about yours!

But yes, I also hear the sound of a computer breaking a little while before it actually becomes unusable, if I'm paying attention to that sim at the time.

I hear it, too. And occasionally I'll hear the plumbing go, which means the next person to use the sink or toilet will break it.

Yep, other sims might walk near the item and do the whole 'complain about something dirty/broken' animation too. It's like a warning which is kinda useless as you can't really actually do anything until the item actually breaks!

Oh, I'm glad it is not just me then. I wonder, too, why it is like this precisely because you can't do anything, but wait for the item to actually break. I guess it prepares you in letting you know that you need to get some simoleons ready or have a Sim home to do the repairs.

@oshizu Lol, that would be really bad, I agree. I would have to go to a different sub forum to post about it, though ;)

I think, it's just an extra long animation/transition. The first few clicks, are the hard drive crashing, and the computer is officially broke, when the blue screen & lightning bolts appear.
