Refrigerator Madness
« on: December 09, 2009, 04:39:06 PM »
Does anyone know how long food can stay in each of the 5 fridges? Thank you. I dislike having to always check the quality of food before I let them eat it. (Because, otherwise they could puke.)

I know Pam has the Prima Guide. Maybe that info is in there. But, if I had to pull a number out of a hat, I would guess that each tier of fridge quality adds one day of freshness. I'm basing that just on my own experience where food spoils with the 2nd tier fridge in a couple days and stuff stays fresh in the best one for almost a week. But, then you've got the random spoiling bug that throws everything out of whack.

Thanks. I always check before the Sim eats after that one time my sim threw up after eating bad food. I felt so bad, so I spent $1000 on the great escape for no reason but to make up for my mistake.

Surprisingly, I haven't found anything in the Prima Guide about the refrigerators.  Metro's information looks pretty accurate to me, although I've never actually tested it.  And now with the refrigerator bug it's nearly impossible.  I know it gets frustrating when food spoils between the time you Sim takes it out of the refrigerator and the time it gets eaten.

This one will have to wait. I'd love to do a real scientific test with the master chef fridge, and all other models. It should be simple enough if someone wants to take it up... just make multiple servings of the same meal and stow them, see how long they last. I'm a perfectionist so I won't do it without the MinusOne Kelvin Refrigerator as a factor.

some foods spoil faster than others.

There are foods that can easily spoil or rotten. Foods are have different kind so we should know the right time when our food will be spoiled. Refrigerator is really effective and this really helps the foods preserve.

I've never had food spoil in the level 10 chef reward fridge, minus one kelvin or whatever its called, and I've had that fridge for many generations.

I know TommyT, the one you get when you reach level 10 in the culinary carreer. That is indeed the only fridge where you can store your food without being afraid of finding it back rotten. I can confirm that.

Is that even possible? Or did you just place it on an empty lot, moved the sims, copied the lot to the library and placing it back? That was the cumbersome way I've used to duplicate my pink diamond gems, before World Adventures arrived.

I guess you get one if you use buydebug. And, Saltypaws, there's nothing you can't buy! It's ridiculous you have to be a top chef to get acces to a great fridge!
